KptKrunch got a reaction from Westy Sucks in Does a blow out at home Thursday get MOS fired?
Darvin Adams exemplified that big time. It's what I've been saying. WATCH the other teams, I watch the Eskimo's all the time. Anyone here think Reilly is perfect? Not even close. He usually just throws the ball to an 'area' when he goes deep, it's his 'receivers' that make a play on it. You all saw Bowman do it last week. Not to mention his 8 yard route when he needed 10 yards (and that was the game btw - that's where the bombers lost it).
That being said, Willy is NOT a 400k QB- bombers hitched their wagon to the wrong guy - AGAIN!
I'm a broken record, but I'll say it again. Until the bombers find their OWN QB - they are not doing anything. They might have some limited success here and there, but if they can't find a QB (and there's more out there than people think btw) the Bombers will never be significant in the CFL. The bombers are the new 'Riders, like it or not. Perennial doormats. The free space on the bingo card.
And now its what - 37 games since we scored 30 points in a game. 17to85 thinks that's no big deal. Really. So if the Winnipeg Jets failed to score 4 goals or more in hockey for two seasons - that would be 'no big deal'??? 17 - that's a HUGE deal. It's a scoring league. 30 points - teams get that by accident - Calgary got over 30 yesterday and they only played half a game (well 2 and 1/2 quarters). That stat by itself tells you how effective Willy (though he probably only started about 22 or 23 of those games - but still even that's not acceptable for a 400k a year guy) and MOS are as a team.

Agreed - don't get this. There's only eight other teams. What exactly is a weak schedule? Bombers are in tough no matter who is on the dance card with them, and where it's being played. That's just a fact. Bombers have a 'tough' schedule all the way through the season lol.

You could be right - but at 400 grand plus a year I don't think that's going to happen. The management has 'hitched' their wagon to the Willy train, so I can't see them just parking him on the bench. I can see Willy getting hurt again though. Not that I want to see that - don't like it when any player gets hurt.

Should be a good game - Edmonton's defense is definitely a shambles right now as they try to learn Benevides' system (not to mention three key players out - Ojo (injured ruptured Achilles), Grimes (best cover guy in the CFL - gone to NFL), and linebacker Dexter McCoi)l. You can't replace guys like that and the Eskimos haven't.
Willy does need a big game here - this might be the 'softest' defense he plays this year. He'll need it too because despite their defensive woes, though off to slow starts the Edmonton offense once they get going are not going be to stopped very easily. If bombers are to win - they will need to do something they haven't done in long time - score more than 30 points. This is the D they can do it against.

...we'd have three guys with the last name of Harris on our team. Do you really think Rod Black could handle that kind of pressure when calling the games?

I dunno - I thought it was pretty funny myself. I've read a lot (and I mean a LOT) worse on the Rider's forums about the Bombers and their fans. But to set the record straight, the 'half' games are so there is no 'grey' area here. 6.5 means if they 7 games, you win your bet, if they win 6 games (or less) you lose. Same with scores. if it was '7' the argument would be 'well, if they win '7' do I win my bet or not'. Well, at 6.5 its pretty black and white how many wins (or losses) a team needs or how many points (that's why over/unders are always '##.5'). But I liked Khari's spin on it, quite clever. Its' all in jest so don't worry about it too much

Should be a good game. Anxious to see how Willy and Co do with the new offense. I'm 99.9% sure they were keeping it as 'vanilla' as possible in the preseason so as to keep the defense's off balance to start the year.
As for the other half - I was pissed we lost Laine (he would have fit like a glove with McDavid) but so happy when it was Wpg that got him. I think he'll be better than Matthews. Should be a great night in the 'Peg - Laine, then a bomber win

This is make or break for OSH this year and I think Willy too.  If he is healthy all season and still poops the bed then he is out of excuses and it's time to start looking for yet another new number one.  Does Bo Levi have a younger brother?

Here's my predictions for Friday evening......I arrive at the stadium early, park in my seat in the upper deck with a Shwarma Khan and a beverage, watch the draft where the Jets pick Laine, and then watch a good beat down of Montreal!
I like Bass into the middle with Wild beside him.....
    My season prediction is 9-9.

Not sure if anyone is reading this thread anymore - that's Chris Jones - he wants his players wearing jersey's two to three sizes too small, tight like yoga pants lol. That way defenders don't have anything to 'grab' on to? He employed the same philosophy when he was here in Edmonton.

I'm still seething over our last pathetic pre season showing the last year Burke was coached - 3 points in two games and two blowout losses set the tone for the rest of the year.
This shows what stability in both the front office and on the sidelines (HC) can do. It's only one game but we looked like a team, even the backups, and the backups to the backups, seemed to be playing with a purpose.
The win inofitself means absolutely nothing of course - but how we play in these games does. Bombers look like they are set to make some noise this year. With all the coaching changes in the west, you'd think we'd have an advantage to start the season with. I guess we'll see.

One thing I noticed (and maybe this was the Crown talking) last night was how much more confident O'Shea looks on the sidelines now with Lapo in there running the offense and being involved.  Bellfool would just stand there with his head-set on and it never looked like he was really doing much actual coaching.  Lapo was all over the place getting in the ears of the offense and showing them stuff on his Ipad.  O'Shea just looked, I don't know if this is the right word, but "relieved" in a sense.  He's finally got some veteran experience on the sidelines to help him out.  I think they will make a great team.
