  1. Watch it again Tommy - it was interference - much more blatant than the Bucknor call. But face it boys - as I've said many times before, the CFL is a MINOR league, and they prove it practically every week. This week was no different.
  2. Well overall I thought the officiating was terrible, and not just on the field. Does anyone know an email I can send my complaint to? That non PI call on the first drive was far more blatant than the Bucknor one in Toronto that was called. A hand in the back (Bucknor) that you couldn't see vs a swat down on the left shoulder/arm of a receiver PLUS a push Out-Of-Bounds prior to the ball getting there - insuffiicent evidence? What I'd like to know (and I know still to this day it happened in Ritchie's time) is what the officials have against the Bombers? I know we get some calls our way too, and personally I'm not going to moan about the missed holding calls (Herman TACKLING Anderson on the last drive that the receivers were also off side on was the most obvious - the Wild hold on the Sk TD was in the middle of the play and just missed I get that - but that one not called??? really?????????) as shite happens like that. However, I'm proud of the way we played - I watched the whole game (was at a family bbq so I pvr'd it and stayed up till 4 am) and we hung in to the end. At the beginning of year, that's all I asked for, vs last year's debacle (and the year before) where most games, especially the Labour Day one - were over by the 1st quarter. Yes SK fans - you got us twice now, but compared to last year - we're coming, and we coming fast. Enjoy while you can as next year, the officials won't be able to help you either.
  3. You got that right! What the heck is going on in Mb? Once you get into Sk - now that's a highway! They better do it right as next time I make that drive I don't want to be bouncing all over. Pretty embarrasing for a 'national' highway - makes the province look real real bad.
  4. Rick Campbell is still relatively young and in-experienced, so he should learn. You never know if the genes rub off on him but IMO he'll never be anything more than a coordinator. Hard to judge him though as his team is so well, bad. I think he was also thinking about points for/against. Don't forget, in a tie (do they play Montreal four times?) in wins then the next tie-breaker is points for/against. He may have figured (and rightly so) the game was lost - lets keep the score as close as possible and we'll get them next time.
  5. MotherF@##ker - I took Allen as my flex - I guess he's out. Damn it!!!!
  6. This is what we're missing this year and missed last year. We need a true #1 threat - and Moore is it if he's healthy. He proved early on to be that good but then got hurt and though a 'foot' doesn't sound terrible if it keeps you out three games you know it is bad. Hard to run when you have a bad foot, and now a knee. Football is a tough game and sometimes these things happen. Maybe we'll get another 'Moore' from NFL cuts.
  7. So, is there or isn't there? Is that guy an idiot? Who is he?
  8. Well, we're just fans, not coaches. Hard to argue with a guy who's 6 - 3. I like Sears too but he does take some bad penalties at bad times- I wouldn't call him Dwight Anderson bad but he's closer to Dwight Anderson then he is, say a Joe Poplawski. So maybe that's part of it? Would like to see him in though - especially in a Labour Day game - a few hits from him (even if it's late and we get a flag for it) can switch momentum around in a hurry.
  9. Glad to hear Willy will be Ok - I think Marve would get the start though if Willy couldn't go. At least, I hope so - no impressed with Brohm at all so far. He reminds me of a (slightly) better Jason Boltus for some reason.
  10. Guilty....kinda. I didn't say the RB's would have more wins, oh, wait, no I think I did. I predicted 6 for us and 7 for the RB's I think. Well, I got the BB's right...provided we lose out the rest of the way (not gonna happen). Love it when I'm wrong
  11. I didn't know they wore short skirts in at Salisbury House lol
  12. I can't wait until they do it in Edmonton - 'Green is the ummmm, ahhhh, errrr new green' lmao
  13. Can't believe some of the comments of us not 'needing' Hall or "Hall doesn't fit in Etch's defense". Reminds me, a few years ago, when we had a young Canadian Olineman at guard and some poster here (same one maybe?) went on a bit of a rant on how 'overrated' he was and he wasn't even the 3rd best olineman on our team (or something to that affect). The following season was his last here, and signed at home and all Brendon Labatte is now is (arguably) the best Canadian Olineman in the CFL. Yep - don't sign Hall - we don't need him... Phuuuuuulease
  14. I am not sure if I can agree with that... I think we've got an OK group of receivers but top 2 or 3? I dunno. If everyone is healthy I probably put Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton and BC ahead of Winnipeg. Gotta agree here. We still don't have that killer guy - a Fred Stamps (when he was good), a Mervyn Fernandez, a Milt Stegall. I was hoping Moore, and he's good but he doesn't strike fear into anyone. Until we get one we won't be in the top 5 no matter how many 'decent' guys we get.
  15. I don't know of anyone who likes them... They seem to be despised. When I first tuned into the game, I was wondering why the Argo's were playing a home game in our stadium (nice looking stadium btw - staying just down the street from it right now). Where's the gold? Why the Argo blue? Totally wrong color scheme, and the paisley stuff is just a mess
  16. LOL - good one. As I mentioned in another thread - Crompton is the real deal. He was always the best looking (as in arm) QB here in Edmonton last year. He's from a first rate Division one University, has size, can scramble, he just needs some polishing and he'll be a gooder. Montreal is set now. As for us - is it me, or is the honeymoon with Drew Willy ending? Willy has not looked all that good last few weeks, including this week. Some very bad overthrows, missing wide open receivers and/or throwing the ball in a bad spot. Hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not jumping off his bandwagon, it's just that he's human afterall. He's same age as Crompton and is definitely ahead of him in the development stage but will be interesting to see where these two are when they are 30 (in their career progression that is). Three quarters and Crompton is the real deal? Wow. Lets see how he does now that teams have film on him before we start tooting his horn that loudly. As for Willy - It's as clear as day that the playcalling has been the issue the past few weeks. Yes Willy has made mistakes, that's life as a quarterback, but Marcel DESPERATELY needs to start getting not just creative in his calls, but attacking the weaknesses of the defence. No team has completed as many deep passes as us this season, yet how many times have we tried stretching the field the past three weeks in comparison to the start of the season? Marcel is the big issue here. You missed what I said Mr. P - I've been watching him for awhile now. He look a hell of a lot better than Troy Smith - tell me, how many reps as he (Smith) had? I'm not saying he's (Crompton) the next Cavillo but he's a lot better than ANY other Montreal QB right now - and he's barely gotten his feet wet. Yes, long way to go - all I'm saying is he HAS the tools. Or am I not allowed to have an opinion on that?

Did you notice how when we actually were able to run the ball he looked better passing? He's not a guy who at this point can do everything with his arm, there's too many other issues going on for him to do everything, but when he's got support he is fine. Bellefeiulle needs to be more creative with the running game, but at least O'Shea finally told Grigsby to run hard and not pussyfoot around with the side ways running or stopping before hits the hole. Definitely - its' very hard for a QB to get into any kind of a rhythm when the defense is pinning their ears back. That being said - he hasn't looked good the last few weeks, regardless of the (lack of) running game. I'm not saying he's been 'terrible' or anything, he's far better than what we've had since Khari Jones, it just turns out he's not 'superman' afterall

  19. The problem here is the owner hired him. Last I head, Wettenhall's ego was bigger than Popp's. Doubt very much he'll stand up now and say 'my bad' and allow Popp to fire him. He won't (Higgins) be back next year though.
  20. Ok Juran - name me a sport that does? In Basketball the teams in the west are better. In the NFL - every year, there's usually one or two teams better than a wild card from the other league (AFC or NFC). In Hockey, West is much better than the east in the lower half and even mid-tier teams. It is what it is. Even in Baseball it's bad - so bad they adopted a 1 game playoff for four more teams (look at the Blue Jays Division where Boston/New York dominated for years - and look at what happened to the interest in the Jays). Just because we are not fans of Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal, or Ottawa doesn't mean we can close our eyes. These fans need a 'chance' and right now, despite all their injuries and struggles, all the Eastern teams are in it. If were an Al's fan for example, and it was a one division league, I'd already be saving my money for what Hab games I could attend. Think I'd go see the Al's play? Not a chance. Leave it as it is - and I'd go one step further and eliminate the cross over - as if you want to know/understand why Ottawa 'started' failing (horrible owners were the final nail(s) for sure) it's because when they went to the cross over - no chance. This year you know it's second place race already and that's pathetic as it is. Might want to read what I wrote again....

  22. Joey Elliott? Maybe - who else is there? I think Micheal Bishop is now officially retired. Collaros - was terrible before he got hurt (and to think I wanted him..... my bad). Lefevour was their best option as it turned out and he's gone now. When Zack comes back.... yikes. As for no divisions...... well, that's on another thread.
  23. Really, why? Did you ever see him make a solo tackle? I never did, not once, and if anyone did I'd love to see it in YouTube. I've seen him run over and have his tackles broken many times, anytime he was in on the play actually. As for coverage? Well, refer to point #1 again, I only saw those broken/missed/steamrolled into the turf plays about 3 or 4 times a games, as the other times he was usually on the opposite side of the field of where the ball was. Has about as much football sense as my wife. There's a lot of players that deserve another shot. Cauchy is not one of them. The man should move on the next phase of his life and concentrate on that, he is NOT a pro football player.
  24. Good job Drew - now you gotta make the WBB hall of fame and the CFL hall of fame
