  1. Agreed - he was terrible in that Ottawa game before he got hurt again. Not that I expected much as he was 'rusty' but clearly, even in that game, his shoulder was not '100%'. I think his career is all but over. I'm sure he'll play again but he won't be anywhere near as affective as he was before his injury. He'll probably be like Khari - he'll struggle, maybe bounce around to a team or two, then hang em up for good.
  2. Next season the Bombers win those games. I'm confident Bombers win at least 9-10 games next season. Could've won them this year too. We were outplayed at the QB position - rest of the team played well enough to win those games. Durant in 3 games vs WPG 13 for 21 for 115 yards 14 for 26 for204 yards 8 for 9 77 yards Hardly sounds like stats from somebody that outplayed anybody Um, 8 for 9 is pretty good, but he got hurt remember? Sunseri came in - check his stats out. I won't argue - I really don't care. It's an opinion forum and it's my opinion, right or wrong. We'll see more next year and hopefully Willy will be better but I still like Marve.
  3. So 4 for 10 and 22 yards is what exactly? What is "kptkrunch's sole stat line to try and insult Willy?" Alex. No - Mr. P's trying to run down Crompton and now that he had a bad game he's all over him - so I'm asking him a legit question. And it's not the only stat line Wily has like that. It's quite hypocritical I find to run down one guy who has 'better' numbers, is younger, and is less experienced, then our own guy who frankly shat the bed the last half of the year. Regardless of the excuse why- it is what it is. So I'm asking the question. I'm curious how one stat line can be 'excused' and another isn't. Fair enough I think. But as usual - no answer just insult the poster. Epic fail.

  5. People are bagging on this coaching staff when you need to win a game, and you have a QB who can't make a decision to throw the ball if his life depended on it. My thing is this - best players should play. It proven that Marve is the 'best' QB we have, yet he sat on the bench. I'm not talking 'best' for the future, I"m talking best in the here and now. Injury, shell shock, whatever, it doesn't matter, Willy proved he couldn't get it done. Marve would not have necessarily won the B.C. game (I personally think he would have but that's an opinion, I have no way of knowing what would have actually happened) but he would have given us the best chance to win that game. The very least, like when Kuale had FOUR unnecessary roughness penalties called on him, O'Shea should have pulled Willy even for a few series just to calm him down, let him gather himself, especially if Marve went out and completed a few instead of just standing there and getting sacked. Just to show Willy that 'hey, there are open guys out there' or 'hey, it's ok to trust in your receivers to make a play'. THAT'S what I was complaining about. And the last game we played proved my point
  6. I got one better - as a coach I survived not one but TWO 2 - 14 seasons, back to back, with an existing club. Granted, I was a legend in that town, and was fired after the second year, but I learned. I went on to be a very successful Coach in Edmonton and Hamilton, winning a Grey Cup in each city as a coach, in between my gigs as a color commentator on the CBC. Do you know who I am? The little general. Good job

I went on to be a very successful Coach in Edmonton and Hamilton, winning a Grey Cup in each city as a coach, in between my gigs as a color commentator on the CBC. Do you know who I am? Jim Spavital went 2-14 in 1970 as the rookie HC of the Bombers. He wasn't fired in the off season which some fans had hoped for but GM EarlLunsford kept him around. He was rewarded for his loyalty to Spav as the team improved to 7-8-1 in 1971 to snag a third place playoff spot in the West for the first time since 1966. Then under Spavital the Bombers improved to 10-6 in 1972. They were the best regular season CFL team that year only to lose the West Final to the Riders at Winnipeg Stadium. A team that just got into the playoffs with an 8-8 record. Massive upset. So, maybe the redblacks improve enough to get a playoff spot next year or win 6 or 7 games. Who knows? But to fire Campbell after a single season? Well, that would be a typical dickish Marcel Desjardins move if he thought he'd be saving his own skin. Good to know - I never saw that game (was a bit too young then but I remember my buddy always telling me about that rouge - apparently it was won on a 'phantom' penalty call made by a biased official which resulted in a rouge or something like that). Good find Iso!!!! The guy I though of I saw play - sad part of all what I typed - that's from memory. I looked it up later and was shocked I remembered everything correctly. Wish I could remember where I put my fricken car keys instead
  8. No, Glenn is very underrated. For the past few years he's been the 'backup' QB that's been forced into action and done well. Not Grey Cup win well, but he's a 'backup'. I personally think he's a 'tweener', reminds me a lot of a (now) famous coach - John Hufnagel. Huf was a 'ok' Qb but he wasn't good enough to be 'the' guy (not close actually). He only excelled when he came to Winnipeg and became the 2nd half monster - and a perfect complement - to Tom Clements. Prior to that, his time in Calgary and Saskatchewan was very "Kevin Glenn" like in terms of the consistency of his performance. Yet back then, no one 'ragged' on Huf as much as they rag on Glenn now.

  10. Good point. Our season isn't over .. it's a Winnipeg bye week .. for all intents and purposes the season is done but from a strictly "book keeping" perspective .. we wrap our season the same week as everyone else. Just another reason why I keep calling this league a second tier league. Not that this guy has any significance but really? Season is not over and any claims as such should not be allowed until Sunday. What a joke the CFL can be
  11. Get a feeling Sears will exhaust his NFL aspirations, if none come to fruition, Don't think any will, Think he will come back to the bombers. Hope you're right Goalie but like I said, O'Shea made him a healthy scratch for half the year. You know he wants to play - he'll sign where his best opportunity is (and the most money) and unless MOS changes his tune it's not Wpg - if O'Shea liked him so much, he would have found a way to get him in the lineup. It was only injuries that got him in. And realized the error of his ways, why do you leave that point out? There was a very clear change in his approach later in the year. Rookie head coach makes mistakes, learns from them. This is a pretty big thing you want to gloss over all the time. I don't think Sears will go elsewhere unless the Bombers cheap out on him or he gets an NFL opportunity. Can you really see other CFL teams making a big offer to the guy knowing that he has had problems staying healthy? Maybe Ottawa but again if you're choosing a team on the rise that you've played your whole career for or that **** show in Ottawa it's not much of a choice. what did I leave out 17? Want to read my post again? I said once Sears got back in, he played so well that MOS couldn't take him out of the line up again. Or, do I need to say that every single post I make (check the previous page).

  13. I wonder if Johnny Sears will be back? I'll bet he signs here in Edmonton and thrives - he's the type of player Chris Jones likes, and the MOS didn't play him for about half the season, someone MOS doesn't like (but once he did get in MOS couldn't take him out he was too good as many here said he would be!)
  14. Willy was far too inconsistent but Denmark didn't really do a lot TD wise so I get it. Liriam gets my vote. As for the rest - i pretty much agree with them. Don't know enough about oline play to pass judgement on it though
  15. Well, if MOS kept Kuale in the game after taking FOUR Unnecessary roughness penalties, I can't really see him canning any coaches unless a coach becomes available that he has a good professional relationship with. If anyone is going to leave, my bet is that man is MB gone, as MB was inherited by MOS, not necessarily 'hired' (probably kept him because no one MOS wanted was available). I'll argue a bit on the protection piece - Brohm and Marve did fine and weren't sacked any more often than any other CFL QB. Willy needs to learn to get rid of the ball faster. I'm sure he will be working on that in the off-season and will be much better next year. But after game 6, our offense clearly wasn't fooling anybody.
  16. I'll second that - Wild is good for certain things, but was too small to stop the run - but Kuale didn't do much for that either. I shudder to think if we lose Wild and Kuale becomes the #1 guy at MLB next year ....
  17. Who's up for Free agency in that department this year? Should be looking there obviously the current group isn't good enough
  18. Bucknor was a very pleasant surprise this year, and being a National to boot, given our weakness in that area, we should do everything we can to sign him. I agree with Goalie - don't break the bank on him but pay him as a starter as he has proven he is one.
  19. You think Rich as the site owner disrespects this community? His mantra is a giant middle finger to the community that visits this place? And the rest of the guys who volunteer their time to this place? You should be embarrassed for even suggesting such a thing. Do you know what Rich gets out of fronting the money for this place? How much of the revenue he takes for himself in exchange for the late nights when he has to do site updates or for the money that he puts up to pay for server fees, etc? Not a single dime. It all goes to you guys. The shirts we made, the contests we run, the season tickets we donated to charity on behalf of all of our members here. All of it is for our members, not for the people who own and operate this site. There's ONE guy on our moderation team that pushes the envelope. Me. You want to suggest I'm a bad site administrator? Go right ahead. While you're at it, maybe find me some examples of how I've used my admin privileges in an abusive fashion because there's a difference between "mod abuse" and you just not liking my attitude sometimes. But it has nothing to do with the entire team that works on this place and I find it quite unbelievable that you would even suggest it does. Wrong - Mr. P. Just look at my tough love thread and how he treated me. Look at my post about Jonathon Crompton and how he called me 'stupid' for saying what I said because he won one game. Aww muffin.... What I said, for the umpteenth time was that it was a stupid post. I dare you to look through my comments and find specifically where I said you, yourself, were stupid. Go for it. I'll be here waiting. and you tell me how it was stupid? I just watched the guy here for a year, made a comment to the community about what I observed. I had no idea he'd be so successful but it wasn't a stupid post after all now was it?
  20. I know - but it all started with a comment I made about Crompton in Montreal. I won't re-hash it, but watching him here for a year and seeing how he threw the ball (albeit in pre-game warmups) I opined when he went to Montreal he 'could' be the guy there. Mr.P called me stupid for that comment. I won't bother stating the obvious now about that. To add to that, when I started my tough love on Willy thread because he seemed to be getting off the hook around here, Mr. P picked up from the Crompton comment and attacked me even more. Mr.P is a mod. He can certainly voice his counterpoints to any post I or anyone makes here. But he can do it without insulting or belittling the OP. So yeah, I got my back up and for sure I made a lot of posts with a connotation slant of "I'm right and you're wrong" but if someone attacks me personally, I'll fight back. Mod, or not. I'll take the whole forum on if need be. I certainly don't mean to come across that way. I like to vent and as a Bomber fan I'll come here to vent. I also like to read other comments and there are lot of knowledgeable posters here who are definitely more in tune to what is happening in Wpg than I am just because they are more connected than me. I've even 'liked' a lot of Mr.P's posts in the past and agreed with many things he has said. But why he thinks knows more about Crompton than I do, for instance, really? Cause he's seen him in action so much more than me? But whatever, I'm a bomber fan first and always will be. This is an active site and I do enjoy reading a lot of the viewpoints here. I won't go away that easily, and I'll keep posting my thoughts and observations. People definitely don't have to agree, but if I'm attacked, well, maybe I'll just leave it from now on and just keep posting what I think and not worrying about Mr. P's insults. I wonder if I reported him to the 'mods' would he give himself a warning lol?
  21. I'm sure he'd be devastated... Thanks for proving my point

Then you say stuff to me about how I post - well how would you like it if you posted something and I called you stupid, then what you said came to pass? And not just one thing. I got on my 'soap box' because of the way I was treated when I first 'dare' posted that Willy is/was as much to blame for the losing streak as anyone else. Wasn't trying to run him out of town, just saying maybe we should try Marve in there as a change in pace. It exploded from there. Nice way to treat a board member who already offered on one thread where - if I had won the contest, would have donate the prize right back to this site. I'm just a bomber fan like you are expressing my opinion, not running anyone down or calling anyone out personally so why do I get treated like that?
