TSN's love affair this year has mostly centered on Johny Manziel. They like others, but he's their favorite. Again this is a game that has implications for the teams involved but I'm not that interested. I will be watching the Edmonton/B.C. game with great interest though.

Yes, but then we'll have to play Hamilton or Ottawa in the Grey Cup. There's no easy path. Our last 2 league games may be must wins. But we are hot right now, so we have a chance. We just have to make the playoffs first, and right now, I'm pretty nervous.

Bombers sign Geoff Gray to a 3 year deal

And yet some media have wondered if Bighill is going to be our MOP this year...just saying -
Bombers sign Geoff Gray to a 3 year deal

I'm assuming this is why Walters didn't go after other guys (i.e. Chris Matthews)...he likely gave Gray a nice signing bonus which counts against 2018 cap. Anyways...O -line could be strong for years to come. -
Bombers sign Geoff Gray to a 3 year deal

Not sure the free agent status of our O line guys, but having Gray for 2019 and 2020 is huge. -

Great for our future! Wonder if he plays right away, and if so, who does he replace?? -
Yeah, I think I will be cheer for B.C. this weekend. The way things are going though, Edmonton will probably win.

Could also make an argument that Bighill is our MOP. -
Three stars plus hh saskasuck edition

Sad if true. He was our best defensive player in '2017 and 2016. That's the downside of football. (At least he will get a full salary this season). -
At this point I don't care. We just need to make the playoffs.

So Can We Talk About Firing Jones Yet?

Looks like. I don't know if we could end up in a 3 way tie, but I'm guessing that's not favorable for us either. I just know we just gotta win.

I'd say it was an A+ yesterday. The defense has definitely stepped it up in the last few games.

From the CFL site in the event of a tie: When two or more member Clubs are tied in the final Division standings at the conclusion of the regular season schedule, preferential ranking for playoff purposes shall be determined on the basis of the following descending-order priorities and shall be awarded to the Club that: has won the greater number of games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has the higher winning percentage in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points (i.e. points scored for less points scored against) in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has scored the higher net quotient of points (i.e. points scored for divided by points scored against) in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has the higher winning percentage in all games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points in games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher quotient of points in games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points in games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has scored the higher net quotient of points in games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has won a coin toss against the other tied Club. Note: If two Clubs remain tied after other Club(s) are eliminated during any step, tie breaker reverts to step a).

It's far too close. I felt good about the Bomber win, but I didn't expect both B.C. and Edmonton to win too.

620 radio in Regina was just interviewing Tom Clements. Boy, I loved that guy. They asked him who the best QB he ever coached was (Brett Favre or Rodgers). He said Rogers was. I wonder if we could ever see Clements back in Winnipeg in the future - coach/G.M.? I doubt it. Anyways, Bombers by 10 in this one.

This is one game I won't be watching/recording this weekend...it has little effect on the Bombers

Glad I am not in Winnipeg this Saturday
blueingreenland replied to DougR's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We don't really like to see any Rider fans in Winnipeg, anytime, but since there are presently no laws against it, they will come. Seriously, there won't be many drunk Rider fans in the 'Peg this weekend. The Labour Day weekend in Regina, IMO, is the big drunk fest with many Bomber and Rider fans coming to the game already having loaded up. Bombers will win this one. Bombers by 10 (although I did make the same prediction for the Banjo Bowl). -

Regular Season Bomber News & Discussion

On a positive note, with Edmonton losing, I believe our "magic" number to clinch the playoffs is 2. Any combination of Wpg wins and Edmonton losses means we are in. Lots of combinations still at play as to where we end up. -
Yes, BLM will stay in Calgary and the only other place I could see Reilly going is B.C. My hope (and maybe best possibility for us) is that Nichols and Shreveler play out their contracts next year and then Nichols backs up Shreveler for a couple of years after that.

Really like Jim Barker on the panel. Stegall, Dunigan, Barker is the best panel I've seen.

Hmmm. Doubt either of them leave their teams, but the thought of having one of them joining the Bombers intrigues me.
