  1. It's advisable to read a post before commenting on it. I said "assuming he continues to progress". Streveler will still be young in 2020, while Nichols will be 33. 33 isn't old for a QB nessasarily, but again, Nichols is no BLM or Reilly.
  2. I still say our best/most likely scenario would be for Nichols to start 2019 with Streveler backing up...then going into 2020 we offer Streveler starters $ (assuming he continues to progress) and hopefully keep Nichols around as a backup.
  3. I know it was many years ago...but Deiter Brock was in his 30s when he signed in L.A. as a "rookie".
  4. Following that logic it could also be said that winning in the playoffs is also a "team stat"
  5. Harris winnng percentage .777 Masoli winning percentage .500 Nichols winning percentage .625 (this year) Not sure if Harris is much better than Nichols. Both have had their ups & downs. Now if Reilly became a free agent and would listen to offers...that would be a whole 'nother story
  6. I have not felt positive going into any meaningful game against the Stamps in the last 5 years or so...but this time is different. We can win this game. In fact, I expect us to win. We are playing better than the Stamps right now. It's time Bombers, to take the next step in your progression on Friday, and really take it to the Stampeders.
  7. I plan on retiring when I'm 75...no joke. Man, this thread has run a teeny weeny bit off topic.
  8. Good, cause we're getting tired of it too.
  9. Agreed. Riders won cause they were the better team tonight. The Bombers need to beat the stamps next weekend...and they will.
  10. I am nervous about our playoff scenario too, however, we are hot right now and I believe we can beat Calgary. Go Lions (oh, and B.C. sucks and Eskimos can't swallow).
  11. TSN's love affair this year has mostly centered on Johny Manziel. They like others, but he's their favorite. Again this is a game that has implications for the teams involved but I'm not that interested. I will be watching the Edmonton/B.C. game with great interest though.
  12. Yes, but then we'll have to play Hamilton or Ottawa in the Grey Cup. There's no easy path. Our last 2 league games may be must wins. But we are hot right now, so we have a chance. We just have to make the playoffs first, and right now, I'm pretty nervous.
  13. And yet some media have wondered if Bighill is going to be our MOP this year...just saying
  14. I'm assuming this is why Walters didn't go after other guys (i.e. Chris Matthews)...he likely gave Gray a nice signing bonus which counts against 2018 cap. Anyways...O -line could be strong for years to come.
  15. Not sure the free agent status of our O line guys, but having Gray for 2019 and 2020 is huge.
  16. Great for our future! Wonder if he plays right away, and if so, who does he replace??
  17. Yeah, I think I will be cheer for B.C. this weekend. The way things are going though, Edmonton will probably win.
  18. Could also make an argument that Bighill is our MOP.
  19. Sad if true. He was our best defensive player in '2017 and 2016. That's the downside of football. (At least he will get a full salary this season).
  20. At this point I don't care. We just need to make the playoffs.
  21. Looks like. I don't know if we could end up in a 3 way tie, but I'm guessing that's not favorable for us either. I just know we just gotta win.
  22. I'd say it was an A+ yesterday. The defense has definitely stepped it up in the last few games.
  23. From the CFL site in the event of a tie: When two or more member Clubs are tied in the final Division standings at the conclusion of the regular season schedule, preferential ranking for playoff purposes shall be determined on the basis of the following descending-order priorities and shall be awarded to the Club that: has won the greater number of games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has the higher winning percentage in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points (i.e. points scored for less points scored against) in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has scored the higher net quotient of points (i.e. points scored for divided by points scored against) in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has the higher winning percentage in all games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points in games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher quotient of points in games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points in games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has scored the higher net quotient of points in games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has won a coin toss against the other tied Club. Note: If two Clubs remain tied after other Club(s) are eliminated during any step, tie breaker reverts to step a).
  24. It's far too close. I felt good about the Bomber win, but I didn't expect both B.C. and Edmonton to win too.
