  1. Can't blame guys for wanting to play close to home and I'm gonna be honest here, With our media and with the way the last few years have gone, I'm not even sure if i would have signed here if i played pro football.. It's all about winning and getting rid of the gong show reputation we had for the last few years, that doesn't go away in one off-season. Wouldn't surprise me to see more guys signing here in the future though. Besides, Nick Moore, Graig Newman, Chris Randle, Drew Willy... sure 2 of them were trades but they all decided to sign here regardless. They have all been pretty solid, outside of newman who has been hurt but newmans injury, if there is a bright spot in that injury is that it has allowed teague sherman to step up and become a player for us.
  2. Chris Jones is a real son of a ***** and i hope that Edmonton team struggles down the stretch, I don't think they are as good as their record... and I will love the day when they start losing.. Jones is not good for the league, refusing to shake hands at the end and all the other shennanigans he has pulled is getting ridiculous. Time to stop with the fines and start taking draft picks away.
  3. Why is everyone afraid of the riders really? we need to play 4 quarters to beat them? LOL, no we don't, we just can't turn the ball over against them and we should win.. I don't get it really, Yeah they are the defending grey cup champs but they have looked pretty average this season so far... Montreal gave them a run for their money last week, just like they gave us a run for our money this week, Riders did nothing for 3 quarters just like us and beat them in the 4th, just like us.. When we played SASK, we gave them the game off of turnovers, they didn't kill us, Heck i don't even think they scored an offensive touchdown against us... DId they? People going on about Messam but for all the running messam did, the sask offence put up 4 friggin points.. Don't get this 'gotta play 4 quarters vs sask to win'... I understand what some mean but... I really don't get why sask is getting so much credit here from some people... THEY kind of aren't very good this year, They have got lucky, We barely beat montreal? Sure, sask barely beat them too, When we lost to sask, we beat ourselves, sask didn't do anything really.. Not sure why anyone would be afraid of SASK, they aint what they used to be.
  4. Hmm.. Keep the divisions as is for now, It's just one season so far really...but... I do like the idea of Keeping the Divisions, the first place teams get a bye to the Semis.. so Lets say Calgary and Toronto right now So week 1 playoffs would see Team 3 (Edmonton) vs Team 6 (BC) and Team 4 (Sask) vs Team 5 (Winnipeg) The team who finished first overall in the league (Calgary) Plays Either BC or the Winner of the SASK/Wpg game since the first place team should play the lower ranked team.. So Lets say Edmonton Beats BC, WPG beats SASK.. Semis would be Calgary vs Wpg and Toronto vs Edmonton 1st place team definitely needs to face the lowest ranked team still available, In other words, IF BC were to beat Edmonton, Calgary faces BC Toronto would face the winner of the SASK/WPG game Winners meet in Final East vs West doesn't mean much when the West will more than likely roll right over them, Kind of brutal to think that a division with 4 teams, 3 of which have 1 win, Well, one of those teams are making the playoffs and it's likely a team who finishes .500 in the west... They aren't. Pretty weak really.
  5. From what i have read about pederson, He's a big time homer and does tend to make stuff up lots... I guess, if i had to compare him to someone, I'd say he reminds me of Eklund from hockeybuzz, Throws a lot of crap against the wall to see what sticks.. Sometimes, maybe 1 out of 20 rumours he spreads, comes true but for the most part, not really.
  6. Crompton looked good but, i guess when you have basically zero film on a guy, he's going too look good, Elliott looked good too, So did Lefevour, others have also. They have quickly faded into obscurity, ok Lefevour looked good a few games but still.... you get the idea. One game doesn't mean much IMO. Let's see what porn stache does next week.
  7. The Good - The story on Lirim before the game, amazing story and i'd recommend it to those who haven't seen it to definitely try to check it out... - The OL run blocking in the 4th quarter - The tackling by our Defence the entire game - Kromah, Wild, Johnson,Randle, Leggett - Stoudemire - Jones with the blocked punt - not sure what it finished at but they say the 50/50 was over 60,000 at half - Over 97000 pounds of food for the purolator thing - Washington for getting nailed on that one play and continuing to play and then making a few big plays later - Denmark The Bad - Glenn Suitor going on and on and on about the PI call - Alex Brink - SJ Green - Nick Moore - Paris Cotton in the third quarter - Whyte and Lirim both nailing the goal post - The fact that Grigsby leads the league in rushing but we are dead last as a team in rushing yards per game The Ugly - The Playing Calling through 2 quarters and 10 minutes - Tom Higgins, just in general... DEAD MAN WALKING - The Entire first half by both teams... Worst first half of football I have ever seen, Just 2 and out after 2 and out by both teams. Just want to add, The really Good, the unexpected, the who would have thunk it - at the half way point in the season, we are 6-3.
  8. Never hope for serious injuries, I've cheered though in the past when certain players got injured and had to leave the game, but those are guys who i'd consider dirty players, like if hebert or shea emry got hurt, I wouldn't be too upset, Don't want them to have serious injuries though. Hell, i'd go as far to say that when Calvillo was playing and we were playing Montreal and he got hurt, that i cheered lol. I don't see the harm in hoping a guy gets injured, maybe not hoping but if he does, i ain't gonna cry over it that's for sure.
  9. Suitor was embarrassing for sure, Even my GF who doesn't really understand football too much, just started watching it last year and is still trying to understand it completely said, did he watch the toronto bomber game last week? I was like, No i guess not cuz if he did, he would know that the PI call last week was bigger BS than this one. Really inconsistent but IMO, that was a PI call, dude had his hands all over our guys back and shoulders the entire time, that has been called consistently this season.
  10. Thought Grigsby looked good when it mattered, I'm not a fan of the whole "but if you take away his big runs" thing, If you take away any RB'S big runs, he don't look as good. Grigsby seems to be going more North South now instead of East vs West.. Cotton? I dunno, didn't look that good in the third at all... That experiment might be over So for all the take about Stoudemire on O this week, Not once eh? Weird.
  11. Very questionable play calls, especially the running calls, Willy 10 minutes in to the third only threw the ball 14 times, was kind of mind boggling... Good end of 3rd and 4th though by the team. All that matters is we won though and i'll take it, SASK struggled more i'd say versus the same Montreal team.
  12. don't think the weather will be as bad as they say... very small chance of rain, which probably means it pours but yeah... apparently not much of a chance.
  13. I'm not sure how much of a role the run game will play tonight, on both sides of the ball.
  14. MOAB makes some pretty crazy trade proposals.. Swiston for Westerman, Suber for Tim Brown... or whatever now this one? Yeah, i don't see that being very likely or realistic at all.. Besides if the riders are trying to win now, they would probably just trade their pick to Montreal, or a pick of some kind Heck, maybe it's taj smith plus a pick to Montreal for SJ Green. Think that's more realistic than some of the other proposals.
  15. I think outside of a qb, montreal is a good team, however with that being said, they are also a veteran team, They aren't getting any younger... They are almost like the San Jose Sharks of the NHL, veteran team who has a small window to win still, but soon will have to go through a rebuild. Only difference with the Sharks is montreal has won a couple cups the last few years, but.... older team starting to show some signs of their age IMO.
  16. Dressler will probably go to the highest bidder, Will that be the riders? I hope not.. Honestly, I hope it's the bombers, LOL even though i doubt they have any interest in him.. Signing here would make sense though, close to his home in North Dakota and all of that... Wouldn't shock me, who do you sit though, who knows, maybe you move out watson and only start one canadian receiver and play another canadian elsewhere? We are starting 8 canadians right now, we don't need too.
  17. Well, regardless of my thoughts on the petition, it's pretty damn telling when the bombers are giving people 30$ off coupons towards the purchase of the new jersey if you bring a tin of food to the game. Tells you all you really need to know about what they think about the jersey. Also the fact that there is literally barely any mention of it on the main site is telling too, It's almost like the bombers are completely ignoring it and are only wearing it cuz they are being told too, that's pretty obvious actually but... I guarantee with the lack of marketing for it, the lack of just really, the ignoring it on the main site, my guess, we see it once and then it's forgotten quickly, Bombers probably don't want people to remember it even. It's pretty obvious that they are not too happy with it. You got the ALS ice bucket challenge video up, the press conferences, but barely any mention of the "jersey".
  18. Tonight might be one of those kind of boring games due to the possibility of some severe weather in the area. The weather may play a significant role, especially if it's anything like last nights rain.
  19. Okay. So you think there's no point. And plenty of others do. What's the point in arguing about it? We get your point. I feel like a fan petition to change a jersey but have more viability than a petition to the "aquarium people" to make them build an aquarium in Winnipeg. that aquarium petition had over 100,000 names. This petition might have 100.
  20. Thanks for filling me in on Stoudermire... who knew. Apparently, you didn't.
  21. Tackling comes down to technique more so than talent i think, Sure talent plays a role but one of our best tacklers the last few seasons has been alex suber and he was the smallest guy on the field.. I've seen monsters getting run over, i've seen little guys ran over also... It don't really matter how big you are, it's all about technique. The problem with the tackling a few games this year is instead of trying to just wrap the guy up, our guys would try to knock him out, go for the big hit and bounce off the guy, you go a bit lower on the guy and that guy will go down, our guys biggest issue is always trying to go too high, wrap the ball carrier up properly and he will go down. Don't matter how big or small you are. Technique is way more important than size.
  22. No need to dress woods as stoudemire is mr versatility, he might be listed as a db and his primary role might be kick return/punt returns but.. he will be involved in the offence for sure, receiver or as a rb, he's more versatile than woods so no need to dress woods, no need to dress Romby because how many backup receivers do you need really JFG,Carter and "stoudemire" is more than enough.
  23. so the 2 man will be bryant and hinse i guess?
  24. If the petition is to use the royal blues instead of these ones, better hurry, the game is on friday.. LOL.. if it's to wear the royal blues permanently, why bother.. It's not gonna happen. If its the former and not the later, i'd sign it. But if it's a petition to make them wear them all the time, There truly is no point.
  25. it depends which gun you are using but cops aren't using sniper rifles, they are using hand guns, hand guns are not easy to aim with at all. I'd suggest that anyone who thinks it's easy to hit a moving target with a hand gun, go get you one of those clay pigeon machines and a couple hand guns, bring some rifles too, go set it up outside the city, in the country somewhere, preferably on a lot you own outside the city and see what happens.. Try it with the rifles first? not so hard actually but if you never done it before, You might hit one,, try it with the hand gun then, you won't hit any. The only thing you might hit is your ass on the ground cuz them hand guns have quite the kick to them when they go off Anyway though.. Just a comment, why are all the "witnesses" who claim that the cop basically "executed" this brown fella, why do their stories all seem like such BS? Yeah i dunno they say, i only saw this part.. the part where he got shot, i didn't see the stuff happening prior, i was looking out my window.. BS you were, Where were you a few days ago? Seriously... I dunno what it's like down there in Ferguson, just outside of St Louis but... i'm getting the impression that the black people don't particularly care for cops or more than likely, don't care for any white person with some power. It's kind of like reverse racism going on, most people think white people are racist towards blacks but i think this is a case of a majority black town being racist against whites.
