  1. So just out of curiosity ... what's your relation to JV? I'm going to go with uncle! No relationship what so ever... I'm from Puyallup where he went to HS and we both graduated from U of I. Would ;you believe O'shea informed me over a Corona? No... but mostly b/c this sentence doesn't make any sense...
  2. There's no chance that will happen... even if he goes 5, 6, 7 consecutive games with a punt return TD... teams will just stop giving him the opportunity...
  3. I disagree... I think the pass is very much in play with Marve... having Willy makes it 2-dimensional: pass or hand-off... Marve makes it 3-dimensional: hand-off, QB run or pass In theory, sure. But in actuality when Marve has come in the overwhelmingly dominant play is QB cut left or right and try to dive between the guard and the tackle. After that has failed 2 or 3 times it has been hand-off to Marshall. Pass is never his first option (which kind of defeats the purpose of calling him a QB). Even his one attempted pass this year in that scenario was out of a run play on a sprint to the corner goal line which got shut off, and the pass itself?.......Yikes! Far too predictable at this point, and has been that way since the start of last season. Not sure if it a play-calling issue (they don't like the pass game down close) or a personnel issue (either the team or Marve doesn't like/trust his passing ability in that situation, or he and they know he'll abandon his progressions and just look to run at first instance), but Marve has consistently shown he is more comfortable with his feet than with his arm at QB in any situation, much less short yardage, where there have been no surprises as to what play is coming. And other teams appear to be catching on this year. I agree that pass isn't the first (or best) option with Marve... but teams have to respect that he can throw... at the very least it should create more options for the D to consider... Not until he starts doing it, they don't. True... I guess part of my assumption is that he will throw if the play breaks down... I'm not sure if the coaching staff is going to call the passing play though...

  6. Have you ever seen him take reps there? I know it was suggested by a few people (myself being one) that a move to centre would probably be the best career move/way for the team to use him offseason, but I've never seen him there. I thought Greaves was taking reps at C in camp too?
  7. I think it's pretty clear he's saying "I don't give a damn about calls for my job" not "I don't give a damn about the fans"... This sounds like a non-issue that will be handled internally...
  8. Keep him away from Watson during practice. do tell? He injured Watson at practice once (in 2013 I believe)... Watson was out 4 weeks or so...
  9. Milt's arguing has become tiresome and annoying on there...if he wasn't a God around these parts................ I can't say I watch the panel very often... but from what I've seen it almost seems like he intentionally plays devil's advocate... just to spice it up... or something...
  10. He is listed at 6'2 294 lbs That's what I thought.... but size doesn't necessarily mean he can play NT... there's a huge difference btwn playing DT in a 4-3 and NT in a 3-4... That being said, I have no idea if Collins has experience at NT...
  11. definitely... even at the game, as it happened, I thought it was the right call... it wasn't until I saw the replay on TSN (they didn't show it on the jumbotron) that I questioned it...
  12. If we were a little bigger up front, and better at keeping linemen off our linebackers, I'd not be against the idea of running a 3-4 .. but as it is, we had trouble controlling gaps when we went to a 5-2 in obvious running situations. We simply don't have the bodies .. Turner at end is interesting... he's down a little bit in size this year too... but the biggest problem is we don't have a true NT in that system...
  13. Kito may be getting a call. And January and/or Morley
  14. I'd much rather the utility guy be someone who can snap the ball when none of our other OL have that experience. But what happens if a tackle gets hurt in game... I don't think Goossen, Greaves, or Chungh have ever player tackle...
  15. I think as coaches and players start to adjust we'll start to see 2 pointers on a more consistent basis... it just takes time for things like this to really sink in...
  16. Seeing the replay on TSN it sure looked like he wasn't in.. but as someone already mentioned, it really is a moot point right now...
  17. The only thing I heard recently that kinda irked me was on Sports Centre during Bomber/Riders highlights, the broadcaster said "gotta feel for the Rider fans" when Durant got hurt... that really annoyed me... I feel bad for Durant and his team mates, even the coaching staff to an extent... but I will never, ever, have an ounce of sympathy for that self-important fan base...
  18. He's Canadian... so because he's not Henoc, he must not be any good... but I agree that he would be better served as a rotational player... he hasn't been great this year, but I also don't think he's been particularly terrible either...
  19. This definitely wasn't a "we're a championship team" victory... but wins while working out the problem are always better...
  20. I thought both Randle and Bass were very good last night... we desperately need some solid lb play and we're starting to see it on the outside... still not convinced on Hurl though
  21. I wouldn't say "pissed" but definitely a little annoyed... I work in Portage (live in Winnipeg) so I have an hour drive home... luckily I have some flexibility at work and I'm just planning to leave early today... but I can see how that would affect some people a lot more... I expect the crowd to look quite empty at kick off tonight...
  22. I feel a little better now that Ottawa has the biggest blow out loss of the season... but the score doesn't look as bad starting with a 46 instead of a 52...
  23. I think Peach was signed by Walters.. after Mack was fired
