Davis looks to be the more promising of the two- size, good body control, decent speed and fights for the ball. Duncan looks to be a Dressler/Smith clone who is a speed merchant.

Again, I am going from memory, but did not Mitchell pick on Johnson during the final drive when the Stamps got into position to to kick the winning field goal?
-
So......you can remember dinosaurs?
-
Perception or reality, in the last game it sure looked like every time Mitchell needed critical yardage, he victimized Johnson.

And gives us more to kvetch about. Much appreciated.

Maybe we could get a flock of Mallards to fly over the stadium immediately after the inducktion while Bud has his 12 gauge handy. Kill two birds at the same time, so to speak.

You know that you are old when you go for your yearly physical and get referred to a paleontologist.

I would almost be willing to have the Bombers lose that game if they were able to level Mitchell a few times.
-
Absolutely agree. Can't remember which running back said it, but he said that he didn't need the best blockers in the league to get his yardage, just one who were consistent. All sports are the same with blown calls by the zebras, but the lack of consistency infuriates the fans, coaches and managers. I do not see how that can be reduced to zero errors, but it ought to be able to get better. In the Sask-Hammy game there was a very controversial call on the 'cats center for rocking/moving the ball prior to the snap, but apparently there was at least one instance when the Rider center did exactly the same thing with no whistle. That pretty much cost the 'Cats the game and I can only imagine Austin's meltdown when he reviewed the game films,

Bo-Levi came across as a whiny spoiled brat. If he is afraid to get hit and nattered at, he ought to stay on the dressing room.

Apparently it is not a secret that the Bombers both sucked and blew in the first half against Calgary, that Johnny Adams suffered a massive brain cramp and the "special teams" were anything but for the first half.

I think it cost us the win at both ends of the game- in the whole first quarter and in the last couple of minutes.

The prospect of the Riders beating the Argos fills me with mixed feelings- like seeing your car being driven off a cliff by your mother-in-law.

Just wait. Flanders opened a lot of eyes with his performance in that game and is now a known commodity.
-
That was a wonderful, compassionate gesture by Hufnagel and the Stamps organization. Kudos to them.
-
But Johnson had a very poor game and was victimized repeatedly.
-
Flanders showed pretty good hands yesterday as well. A nice problem to have.

Miller starting contract extension talks with Walters O'Shea

There has to be a sort of seduction about being a second-half team. It would be tempting for players to not give their best at the start of the game on the assumption that they can always make it up in the second half. When up against a very good team ie: the Stamps, that can be fatal, and it was. -
Another senseless, tragic death ending a young life leaving family and friends stunned.
-
And Calgary's TDs had nothing to do with the win? Adams' brain cramp likely cost us the game, and may well cost him his starter status.

Inconspicuous.

No argument from me on these choices, but honourable mention to Feoli-Gudino.

Odds and Sods - Game 13 Bombers at Calgary
Tracker replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
We came THAT close even with really bad punt/kick coverage and no deep threat. No reason to hang heads over this game. -
The Bombers did great and much better than any sober fan dared hope. Nichols was floating the ball way more than he should have in the first half and the defense didn't bother coming out of the locker room until well into the game. Moreover, that was the worst our punt coverage has been since day one. Flanders did great and Feoli-Gudino was his usual clutch player. This was way more a win than a loss and I would bet Paredes would blow that FG 4 out of 5 times in the future.
