We have receivers who can make a great catch, and we have receivers who can consistently catch the ball. Unfortunately, they are not the same people.

He is this year's designated liability who keeps getting put in regardless. Like Kuale and Hurl.

Green has made more than one real bone-head play and I didn't think he was that good so as to excuse his brain cramps.

I also thought Hubbard looked promising, so his demotion is a puzzlement. But then, there have been a lot of those this season. And the previous season. And the season before that. Ad nauseum.

When I was watching the Toronto-Montreal game and not that emotionally invested in it, I had time to be more detached and objective. I watched both Ray and Glenn after each play and the difference was remarkable. As the players were gathering themselves after the plays, Ray was ordering them into position and urging them to hustle, whereas Glenn let everyone sort of wander back to where they should be. I don't recall seeing much of that generalship from Willy of late, if he ever did. That sure looked like the difference between being competitive and just being there.

The Argos may be there soon. If their backup struggles and Hajrullahu does not improve dramatically, I could see Willy and Medlock going to Toronto but I'm not sure who we would want back- a first rounder plus Coombs?

Does a blow out against the Eskimos cost MOS his job?

I'm not that desperate yet, but close. I think I would be willing to consider Tillman first (yuck). -
At the end of the game, we usually remember the outcome before the "how".

Harris was a light in this world and as much as he is missed, he has left much of value behind. What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others lives forever. May he be at peace in that knowledge.

I am not certain what point you are trying to make, but if the individual cannot resolve his/her trauma, all it means is that there are now limitations on the quality and reach of life they experience. For most, it is resolvable.

If neither Willy nor Nichols is able to deliver at least a competitive performance, it raises a disturbing question which has been asked here before: do the people (GM, coach(es) and maybe Miller have the ability to assess talent? If the answer "no" or "maybe not", then it is probably time to raze the organization down to the ground and do a complete rebuild.

There is something called "ego strength". Some people can experience all kinds of bad stuff and shake it off, and some will be so traumatized that it affects them for a very long time, and some never get over it. In its more extreme form,it is called PTSD.

I think we're past the point of holding out for a premier quarterback and are willing to settle for close to average.

Kilgore did not look like a world-beater in his limited time against the Larks, but he did zing a few nice passes. -
But realistic asshats.

It will probably just tick him off and he will then take it out on the Bombers Thursday. -
But do you know what part of Popeye never squeaked? The part that he dipped into olive oyl.

For what its worth, my prediction: Nichols will not set the league on fire but will turn out to be a Kevin Glenn-type QB. Useful but not good enough to build a team's future around. Willy gets cut or traded by or shortly after Labour Day right about the time O'Shea gets canned. The Bombers will continue to wander in the wilderness and Miller will try to placate the masses by saying that it took the Israelites 40 years to reach their destination, so why are fans upset? Fans respond by building a golden calf at the next home game and Miller climbs to the top of the stadium roof and throws down a copy of the corporate manual during a thunder storm while wearing a bathrobe.

Willy may well be done with the Bombers. He has lost his starting job and if Nichols shows any promise, Willy will not get it back. Willy is being paid to be a top-5 quarterback and I cannot see the Bombers keeping him around as a backup for that kind of money. A head coach who was previously a good QB, like Kent Austin might be able to help Willy revive his career, but some of the intangibles that a good QB needs cannot be taught.

While Walters deserves his share of the blame, O'Shea has made enough obvious mistakes that were his alone that he has disqualified himself as the head coach. He is the first that has to be changed.

I am not advocating for LaPolice- that ship sailed a long time ago- but could LaPolice conceivably be worse than O'Shea? -

Lets not drag religion into this. -
ironically, if Nichols stinks the joint out, it might buy O'Shea more time because that could be interpreted as "we have no competent starter quarter backs, so its not the coaches' fault. " If Nichols does well, O'Shea can be legitimately asked why didn't this happen sooner?
