  1. If we have to parachute someone in to caretake the team for the rest of the season, Higgins is as good as there is out there.
  2. I didn't think that the Bombers as a group played hard enough to injure themselves unless there was particularly coarse toilet paper in the Bomber locker room at McMahon stadium.
  3. It was reported that the Jets had doubts about Noel at the start of his last season and had Maurice on speed-dial. I would hope that Miller and Walters have a plan B in case we have a repeat performance this year, and it looks like we are on that road now. But that was probably too much to ask.
  4. A nice reliable automobile...
  5. One more drubbing and the bye week might be a good time to retool the coaching.
  6. We don't know what goes on behind locker room doors but it doesn't matter. What goes on once the team hits the field does, and its flat-out bad.
  7. The problem is that if we keep the same head coach and go 2 and 16 or 4 and 14 with repeated blowouts, there will be enough fans in the stands by the end of the season that they can all go home in the same cab.

  9. If the board and/or Miller decide to wield the axe on O'Shea and/or Walters, I certainly hope its not to "please the masses". If it is time to make such as decision, it ought to be because our coach/GM have screwed the team up and cannot fix it. The decision has to be the result of smart people doing the necessary thing and not just to placate the fans. If they are so clued out that they cannot assess the situation accurately, they ought to fall on their own swords as well.
  10. So where is Rupert Butcher?
  11. Losing is one thing but getting our butts kicked repeatedly is another. Every team is going to lose games but the Bombers are playing without passion or confidence.
  12. The Riders have squat behind Durant, so they are clutching at straws.
  13. O'Shea seems to be trying as hard as he knows how, compared to Burke who appeared to concede every game before it started. Burke was the Eeyore of the CFL.
  14. Ummmm....no.
  15. Muamba was very good, but he might be able to solve only one of our problems.
  16. "There are none so blind as those who will not see"
  17. I caution against holding your breath while you are waiting.
  18. The Bomber O-line wasn't great but better than last year. And Willy made them look worse than they were.
  19. And a good deal of those hits, first game and last, were on him and his indecision. If the opposing D-line knows that he cannot improvise if his first read is not there, they will throw caution to the winds and go right after him.
  20. I'm not disagreeing with the idea of Tate, but do we want a quarterback who has said he is content to be a second-stringer?
  21. It will come down to how many more embarrassments Walters and Miller are prepared to tolerate. O'Shea does not seem to embarrass easily. I'm guessing four games- six games max.
  22. Ed Tait's post-mortem article in the Freep today was similarly pessimistic and scathing. O'Shea has few friends left apart from the players and coaches he has shielded.
  23. If O'Shea is still an "inexperienced" head coach after three seasons, he is unable to learn from experience. O'Shea's problem is an inability to assess talent in either players or subordinate coaches. He is also apparently unable to adapt due to stubbornness. Neither trait contributes to coaching success or longevity, and it may well doom Walters as well.
  24. As much as it pains me to admit it, the team cannot fire O'Shea without a viable replacement, but the sooner that rotten tooth is pulled, the better. If Miller and Walters have a better choice as head coach, lets euthanize O'Shea ASAP.
