Riders get a C.  That can't be right.  The great Rod Peterson said the Riders were the winners in free agency this off-season when they signed Glenn.

Wonder who Hamilton's backup is going to be with LeFevour going to the Als?  Can't be Masoli as that guy is an awful turnover machine.

Eliminating Sadam in 1990 would not have guaranteed any sort of resolution in Iraq unless you have an effective plan for rebuilding the leadership of the country afterwards - one that includes a partnership with former Baathist party officials (those who have a previous understanding of the country and the inner workings of its government) and not disbanding the army to leave all the heavy lifting to the invading forces' army (what the US did in 2003).  I doubt it would have turned out any different if they decided to eliminate Sadam in 1990.  Still would have ended up with thousands of US soldiers killed and hundred of thousands of Iraqis killed and no noticeable appreciation in the quality of life.  The UN is not always right but they were right in calling the US war on Iraq in 2003 illegal.  And outside of England, every other country of consequence agreed by choosing not to get involved -a wise choice indeed.

Not at all. Being uniformed is uninformed. We can disagree no problem. Framing an arguing as Americans are stupid is the wrong way to begin a point of you feel you are informed.

You actually want to sacrifice another season having a rookie play full time if Willy gets hurt?  Well, guess what, I'm not. I'm tired of all the losing & we can't afford to have an inexperienced player like Marve at the qb position carry the team when chances are he'll be an epic fail as he isn't ready. Maybe we make the playoffs with Glenn as the starter if Willy is hurt & maybe we don't but I'd rather he be calling the signals than an inexperienced Marve out there or Portis who hasn't even played a down of CFL football. Not one play. We'd get killed. The season would become another disaster.
As far as how Glenn plays in the playoffs, who cares? We have to get there first. I don't care about winning a playoff game in August or September. I just want to get there first.  If Willy is injured for any length of time with the two rooks at the helm you can forget about winning in the playoffs as we won't be there to begin with. 

Same guys that are pumping Marve here will ***** & moan if Willy gets hurt & Marve/Portis suck in his absence. Then it'll be "Shoulda signed Glenn". Who cares about winning a playoff spot? We have to get there first. We need an experienced backup.

Who says we'd need him for the playoffs? Willy could get injured for a few games during the season. Who would you prefer starting games during a 3-4 game stretch; Marve or Glenn? Glenn could be the difference between making the playoffs or not.

Pretty funny that SUN media criticized the CBC for not letting the market determine their true demand by being excluded from a basic cable package, but yet they go crying to the CRTC demanding mandatory carriage.

On the 4 day weeks, I believe each one, the game at the end of the 4 days is a home game, so at least you get in a couple practices; no travel day like last year where these 4 day weeks the game was on the road. 

6 summer games. Only 1 late October game and no early November games.  Both October games are at 3:00 Pm on a Saturday which mitigates against potential cold weather.  Great schedule for the most part.
 
Only complaints are the three times the Bombers will only have 4 days rest between games although with the uneven number of teams in the league that is unavoidable.  The 6:00 PM start at home on Fri, July 10 is puzzling.  Could see the stadium over half empty when that one starts as many people will have just gotten off work.  Probably the first game of a doubleheader.
 
Wonder why they decided to have the Banjo Bowl on a Saturday instead?  I noticed that AC/DC released their stadium tour schedule on Ticketmaster and was disappointed that Winnipeg was not included.  However, I noticed there is a ten day gap between their show in Toronto and their show in Edmonton - Sept 10 - 20.  The Banjo Bowl will be on Sept 12 instead of the Sept 13 so maybe that extra day will allow them to schedule a show here.  One can hope anyways.

Doesn't matter. Once he comes to our city, it's magical hold will wrap around him and he will never leave to play elsewhere. Next contract we will probably get a discount out of sheer loyalty. Unless, of course, he does leave which means he is a player of suspect character and wasn't wanted back anyway.

Glenn's one of the best backup QB's in the league.  He kept BC and Calgary in the playoffs when their #1 QB's got hurt.  For the right price, he'd be a good pick up.  If I were him, though, I'd wait until the first starting QB went down to get the biggest payday.

Someone on the CFL forum posted a rumour involving MLSE and their negotiations with the league to buy the Argos from Braley.  Supposedly, one of their conditions for buying the Argos are hosting the Grey Cup four times in 12 years.  This would offset any potential losses during the regular season, pay for renovating BMO into a football-compatible facility and pay for the purchase of the Argos themselves (rumoured to be in the $10 million range).
 
This rumour could very well be bs, but if it's true, what are your thoughts?
 
Do you consider awarding the Argos with 4 Grey Cups in such a short time span to be a necessary evil to ensure their long-term survival in Toronto?
 
Or do you think they should wait their turn like every team - 8 - 10 years - and if MLSE refuses to buy them because their conditions are not met and they fold, so be it?

Lied is a strong word.  He said he'd heard rumours and rumblings but the details of the development had not be presented to himself or council.  That's still where we are at.  Bowman has nothing to apologize for except for Chipman's overreaction to anything Chipman views as potentially questioning his reputation.  Anything that requires millions of dollars of public money or a change in an already approved plan that will cost the city millions should hit the floor of council.  Why is this seen as acting against Chipman?  If this development is such a great thing and makes good financial sense for the city, he should have nothing to worry about.

Ah yes, it's all about the Riders. Nobody else matters. Greatest fans in the CFL since 2007. Forget the 2 telethons to keep the team afloat. Forget getting 20,000 people out to a game or 70% capacity. Show me a qualitative analysis of TV viewership, merchandise etc and get back to me.

So we grossly overpay. It's not like the Bombers are up against the cap like the Riders. I don't know about you but I'm tired of seeing our qbs being used for punching bags by other teams defensive linemen in the league. I don't care what they pay the guy to sign him. Just sign him. 

I absolutely agree with two things:
 
1 Pavs played well last night
 
2 Pavs is consistently under-performing on the season.
 
The good thing about stats is they show you the bigger picture.  And Pavs' Save Percentage simply isnt good enough.

UFC needs Punk to win his first couple fights and become a legit draw.  Interest is fading in their product.  Revenues are stagnant or even declining.  Most of their main draws are either in limbo (GSP), have left the sport (Lesnar) or have come to the end of their prime and will no longer draw like they used to (Silva).
