Had to dig my card out of a drawer today for a hold pickup. Wasn't sure where it was. I've been using the app for a while.

App works for me to scan the barcode, just not requesting holds or updating information. Last I saw was that they expected the problem to last for a while.

Now that I have to use the website instead of the app, I've found an interesting service where they suggest books. You fill out a form and a librarian gets to you within 5 days to make 5 suggestions. I was impressed with the suggestions made for me. - Five-in-Five Book List (libwizard.com)

Its been a great 4 year run and I know I shouldn't complain after 4 straight cups with 2 wins but the past two years have been so frustrating.

Especially when we played not to lose two years in a row. We said it was just another game and the rest didn't matter - we played like it was obvious we would win and we just had to wait for that outcome.

I don’t think the punter was the problem this year. His average of 47.2 is not far off the 47.6 that led the league among full-time punters, and I bet his net yardage ranks even higher. He has a weird technique for sure, but it’s pretty effective. As far as special teams go, I think the biggest issue was d’Castillo’s distance on kickoffs.

I'm not saying he was the problem. I'm saying him being our nominee for rookie of the year is indicative of the talent we brought in the rest of the team this year. Even if your punter is outstanding, it looks bad on your crop of rookies if he's the best thing you got for ROY.

Dude was booted from Clemson for conduct detrimental to the team

"He has had a pattern of behavior that is not consistent with the values of our program," Swinney said. "I hope he will mature and grow from this and become the man and player I know he can be. I wish him nothing but the best in the future academically and athletically."

Dude pled guilty to pleaded guilty to misdemeanor second-degree criminal trespassing.

    He's a self-entitled, dbag.

How did the riders miss the boat on this guy?

  5. Anyone follow Chad Kelly in college? His behaviour there could indicate whether to give him the benefit of the doubt on whether this is an excuse or not.

For someone without a prior history of excuses and dirtbag behaviour, I could totally see not informing the team of a concussion. Nobody wants to be pulled in the playoffs, even though informing coaches is the right thing to do. If someone like Collaros said it, I'd believe him, but still think it is odd he couldn't stay on the field to shake hands after playing 3 quarters of football with a concussion.

At the 8:04 mark of 2nd quarter....go watch baby Bett's frustration and pathetic reaction to Eli just basically eliminating him....that's is typical Betts when things not going his way and why he a tool....prepare to laugh a good one lol

Good catch. I was at the game and it was a sigh of relief not to hear his name on TSN all game. So tired of TSN feeling the need to manufacture game stories and clearly having a narrative they try to press during coverage. I guess it is aimed at the casual fan to build something up for them, but it is so forced and looks foolish when things don't go according to their script.

I also damn near froze to death. Did not respect the cold and learned a harsh lesson about dressing too lightly. Feet, hands, head/face get cold quick if you dress like an idiot.

Do you remember what the temps were for that game? I was there and my memory says that it was -30. That's gotta be my memory exaggerating things....

Apparently the link provided has weather. -14, feeling like -21. I remember it being very cold, but I was prepared for it and had a great time.

thankful for no super-negative reaction so far, but my arm is crazy sore. Have heard of that reaction, but never had it in the past. Apparently if you tense up your arm too tight while they're injecting you, it can happen. So maybe...? But if that's the worst of it, I'll gladly take it to be protected through this craziness.

Interesting. If there really is a link between tensing your arm and getting soreness, you would think they would tell you. Or maybe they do?

Pretty much the only reaction I've had is some arm soreness. Felt like someone gave me a charley horse. Might have felt a slight fever the day after and a headache.

Guess I need to learn my lesson and not flex like Arnold whenever I roll up my sleeve.

  9. Growing up in rural MB, I was able to take my dad's old beater out after I got my license. It was winter and I went down snowy backroads, learning how a vehicle reacts on snow and ice. I'd rip around the driveway after a snowstorm before shoveling it. Get stuck, figure my way out and get stuck again. It was so much fun and I quickly learned how to drive in poor conditions and how to get out if I got stuck.

I've been using a SPOT Gen3 just for piece of mind that people can find us or reach out for help in the most extreme of cases when we are on multi day hiking / canoeing trips in the backwoods.    But I only need it a few month out of the year, so I only pay monthly, but they charge reconnection fees every time.

Will be really interesting to see what the price point for this is and how much traffic they can handle.  Will this potentially be a replacement for cell phones outside of large metropolitan areas where the infra costs for telecom providers are high compared to subscribers.

Not sure how much I like the idea of everywhere being phone-accessible. It is already annoying how attached we are and it has been nice to go to backwoods areas without any signal.

Having something like you seem to have for emergencies seems good, but not being always connected everywhere.

Seems like a dumb thing to promise. 1) Likely(hopefully) won't be necessary any longer, 2) Basically saying they would go against health professional advice in the unlikely event that restrictions would be recommended. We've gone down that road in the past and it has only led to stricter lockdowns and needless death.

I've been disappointed with both parties efforts to win votes by promoting bad policy. Seems like they've heard from some Manitobans that they didn't like the lockdowns (duh?) and they've made it a campaign promise.

  12. I think the issue is more HOW antibiotics are used. When I raised chickens, the recommended feed contained antibiotics. This was used as a standard course and not in response to the presence of any pathogen. I believe there have also been issues when animals are raised "antibiotic free" and they can often struggle with illnesses that could be treated to remain classified as antibiotic free.

Using antibiotics when required on livestock seems like a wise and humane thing to do. Using antibiotics routinely on healthy animals seems likely to lead to long term problems. Often antibiotics are used because of the tight confines livestock face.
