I’m hoping we pick up a few guys (#manifesting)  — but we aren’t tearing down and building up like the low level teams.

We are replacing some windows and upgrading some appliances - getting estimates and comparison shopping.

Other teams have a crumbling foundation that need immediate fixes.

really....I see us only "needing" 2 guys along the dline.....and by needing I mean preferably a veteran who can play and a depth/role guy

I for one would not be opposed in the lest to signing Sewell to a one yr deal in the middle while we groom 2025 replacement on the fly....and would love Kongbo as that Canadian depth/rotation guy....and like I mentioned...Sewell could come in with the jumbo package as he has done that for yrs and would move bodies better than Mr Seal....

The key to me this yr with 10 draft picks is to either use a couple to acquire someone....or actually use them this yr with guys who can yes...play teams but also contribute and develop into something more....not just these guys who stood out on their ST film, but projected as nothing beyond that....as thats what got us into this lil depth predicament we have seen the last 2 yrs...we lost focus a bit and didnt project down the road verywell

Sure, but replacing them with who?

Name the positions where we have improved over last season (so far):

    - QB(?)

    - End of list?

how do u improve over Schoen and Brady, and in house db's we already have will improve over Houston

Back up QB as well is an improved area...even with all the Brown luvin that many had...we much stronger there now

Why are you guys even keeping this guy engaged in a conversation? You’re keeping him from his sister, let him live.

    thats why...we saving her

Yep. Godber is average at best, Ferland is a disaster, and Blake won't get past game 2 and will be below average at best even if he does.

and factor in that behind that garbage...Harris will either..1) likely be hurt...again or be pounded game in and game out as they try and implement an actual pro style offense this year, 2) just suck as per usual..moving the team between the 30's 3) the ultimate combo package of both.....and then the season rests on the shoulders of Mason fricken Fine.....now thats a warm fuzzy feeling!

That's basically all you need to even look at in regards to the Riders...

He’s a good player playing as part of the best line in the league.

He isn’t worth 235k. It is as much Bryant voter fatigue as anything.

Now he is looking next to him and seeing who?

Godber...Bandy...Ferland...Blake who is falling apart and not even close to what he was...6 yrs ago....so he is seeing super stars

I read on here many times over the past month or so that losing Oliveira wasn't a big deal because he could easily be replaced by an American,.   What has changed?

And yes I agree about the North end argument.   The north end of Regina does resemble Winnipeg quite a bit.    Drove through there a few months ago, driving into Winnipeg from the  west on the TransCanada was like driving into Beirut.

ummm...we didnt lose him...and paid 30..40 k less than other teams offered...so no need to go American

Yet all you guys do is talk about them.   Bombers to their credit have had a great few years at the top, watching them crumble to Fajardo and the Alouettes in the Grey Cup spoke volumes in my opinion.

Stanley is a couple years short of 40 and he actually started looking human last year.  Your Dline is a punchline right now.   LB's are nothing to write honme about.   3 receivers making over $700K is utterly ridiculous and the holes that will create on the rest of the roster already shows, especially on defence.  You can't deny that the Bombers defence right now is a skeleton of what it used to be.   Is Bighill even coming back, because word is Ouellette is inquiring.  ;)

and the talk on your site? we live rent free there....and it funny as hell

Bryant was still tops in his position...what you were looking at is somewhat funny....And Auclair...Thurmon ..and ???? is a power unit for LB...gotcha....and father time Michah Johnson...Overated and underwhelming Lanier....and who are your ends beside Carney??...another solid group .....only hole I see on defense really is a traditional nose....Holes are all over your squad tho...QB...Oline....receiver...db's....

You’d love to spend that much on those 4 guys😂

Meanwhile you’re spending basically the same on absolute dog ****.

The only team in the league that manages to over pay on every single signing. Literally nobody takes less than over max value.

I guess paying about 1.1m for Harris..Hardrick...Oullette and Bane is so much better...and old broke down Qb who has never won anything...a breaking down aging tackle who showed serious decline...while being on best line in league masking some of it...Bane who has had 1 decent season but faded away, and a soon to be 30 yr old import back who has had 1  1000 yr season and is not a viable receiving threat....ok.....super value there

This is quite literally one of the most ridiculous posts I have read in years.   Everyone you say signs with the Riders, they will not get their bang for their buck.   This coming from a fan of a team that is spending $1.34 million dollars on 4 players on offence lol.

And getting Ouellette for $70K less than Oliveira is a pretty good deal for the Riders.

oh the turd is back..Go back to your site already....Cooper is average at best..Hardick way over payed and in decline...and you can get same or better LB production for less if you knew how to scout/recruit...Dont get me started on Lanier as well...high premium for above average production, with injury and work ethic issues....move along...Paying any import back above 140k isnt a good deal...unless his last name ended in Pringle..Roberts..

Lot of teams that look better on paper so far this year. Our only pickup so far is Streveller. Putting a TON of stock into recruiting.

But how many were wanting to target Schoen and BO too tho? The way I look at it we locked up the best available RB ...WR....Back-up QB and top 3 DE in WJ....Not too mention top DB in Nichols....they were all our own guys, but that says something to who we recruited, drafted, and signed as previous FA's

All those guys mentioned could have gotten and signed for more every where else in the league....I guess you could throw Bryant in there as well...still the top..if not top 2 LT in league until proven otherwise...if we moved on from him you know every team would be calling...same with Neuf...we can't help it that most our guys that were soon to be free agents are tops in their positions...and it seems like we been idle.

We also let some of ours walk as well who were due a price hike, but probably not worth what they were to be getting, and def not worth our time and money to match

  10. yeah that would be about the max I would have paid for him....any import to be honest, and he likely took the highest bidder, so tho not a huge overpay, the Riders paid the highest amount...there would be zero reason for him to go to a club who is basically still a mess, and missed playoffs last 2 yrs for a discount...none whatsoever...They paying for what he has done, and if it wasnt a result of where he was....much like Hardrick I can see them not getting bang for the buck...Same can be said about Edwards Cooper...also Thurman

Does anyone know how much Ouellette signed for in Sask? They made the announcement official but I don’t see any numbers reported, hoping it was an arm and a leg..

been wondering too...I'd be shocked if it was under 170k...have topay a premium to get a RB to go to that sad sack offensive set up

    Just now, Mike said:

Chances are if you’re not being told, it’s because SSK got themselves a deal.

or they keeping it hush for a bit cause they got raped

Let’s not forget the age difference, which is massive when you’re discussing an introduction to pro football. Haba played most of his games before he turned 24 years old. I’d expect him (and Garbutt who I don’t think is much different) to take a little more time to acclimate than a guy like Fox (obviously not a direct positional comparison) who just turned 27.

I personally like Jamal Woods to beat out Fox in camp.

if we produce a practical roster, we should have both on really...but do we see the same Jackson stupidity?...I sure as hell hope not

If we can’t retain Grant we really need to make sure we prioritize getting a guy that can return kicks, having Parker out there really cost us field position. That being said Grant is a little injury prone so I wouldn’t be surprised if we moved on.

we have 2 guys recently signed with exceptional return skills/experience..one of whom was projected to be a elite NFL returner...that RB we signed

  14. I'd like to see Biggie as the DA Cole was last yr and the Nationalized Canadian and in a role position this yr. The player coach as we transition to the heir...Play some teams...come in for certain sets...quality depth back-up if injury occurs...and knowledge invaluanle....Unless he comes in to camp and shows/appears he is capable of 18 games at full tilt, I would hope we ration his reps.

I don't see him being a 80..90% of the reps kinda guy based on observations last yr...but a 15..20 reps a guy on defence...special teams responsibilities and less wear and tear can be a valuable role guy to take over Briggs role...especially with the Nationlized tag put on him...Tho Osh needs to pull his head out of his arse and utilize it

    Just now, Stickem said:

Look ....maybe we didn't want to match his ask.....and his measurabilities as a player didn't measure up....In any event he moved on .....his choice orrrr the million dollar question....when it came down to it .....was it our choice

Pretty sure we were moving on from Houston regardless of what other teams were offering him

  15. Waggoner is a very good technical dlineman..exceptional hand skills too...I could see us looking at him as a hybrid guy inside and out

I have mentioned before that from who we have coming to camp from last yr that Garbut to me looked to have the best over all skill set...and the highest upside...he has a nice length in the upper body, but also was most explosive in the initial moves off the snap...so really curious to how he has developed this yr...He got knicked a bit in that one game he started, but stayed in...but it slowed him down a bit but still was making plays and was constantly busy...Thats what I like to see and look for....he has it...Same with Fox...I really looking forward to him getting lion's share of reps...dude is a powerhouse and explosive and always moving

I looking forward to going to camp and focusing on the dline guys
