  1. Walters says every yr he has no money..then out of blue someone is signed...I think it's moreso he's referring to about big name/ticket guys...and deservedly so as right now we have our fair share ..and ones who are at the top of their position in the league.

So depth/role guys will come from scouting and the draft...which shouldn't be too hard with basically the same scouting and management group being together now for 10 years...and knowing some of the network we will be fine.

The key is this yrs draft, and the amount of picks we obtained...and focusing on positional players who have pro potential...not just teams...you can teach teams easily and any new young guy will ball out on them...we failed in this last 5..yrs and it's almost biting our ass

You have to remember last 4 yrs we haven't really had to unearth anyone as we were set...it's not like we didn't have the network to do so..we have had to basically continuously find dbs and have done very well with that.

I been going over roster and there are some guys who will surprise...I actually like the group of Fox..Randall..Woods and now this Waggoner...and we have a collection of edge guys to push Haba who technically is now the incumbent.

Seems like some scrambling... definitely some questions will need to be answered and a guy or 2 needs to step out of the masses...but I not to concerned

the info. on the guy is just overwhelming  .....so hard to follow ....    NOT

.....Guess when someone says about him....were you born yesterday....looking at that DOB they'd be right.....LOL.....Would be nice to hear more about the guy

he is a stud....had a string of games/snaps where he didnt allow a sack or a penalty...was a phenomenal amount...off top my head cant recall

WhatI do know is has good feet and athleticism for a big guy...likes to get in second level on runs and cause havoc too....could be the replacement....also has experience at guard too

Not even on D line?? I think its an area of some concern....plus an aging Biggie......

If we Have WJ...Lawson...Fox...thats a good trio to have as a base....liking that Jamal Woods too now that I realize we have him signed, and Randall is a big body whom could also push for a spot...we know Haba can play, and I truly think Garbutt is better....so even if those are the 2 top guys out of camp...and we actually roster both and not be stupid all yr and waste a spot on Jackson, I think that line is actually better than what we had last yr...especially with Thomas hopefully having minimal reps, and if we could swing Kongbo to keep Bennett out of the rotation...I can't see him bringing more than he did last yr...

I will pass judgment on Biggie when I see what he has in camp, but also if he is a part time guy helping groom a newbie....he can be pretty useful for one more yr....Wilson as well...will be more like he was 2 yrs removed from Achilles repair...he actually was just fine last yr already...so not too worried there.....and we also have Cole in the mix, and we will have some new blood as well

Kramdi will be a starter despite what coach MBB says.

even if he is not better than someone else after camp?...if thats the case..then our coaching staff needs a slap upside the head....or aren't this be all end all most claim....you play the best players...not the best...and a few of your fav's and guys that are endearing to u...thats just stupid

I got 11 wins out of that lineup easily, probably a couple more coin flip games besides those so 11-13 wins as it stands providing our STs are the same level as last year.

yeah.....i see no reason for panic at all...plus our offence hits the ground running...not worrying about installing a new system...new key pieces....and core of the defense much the same....

Well it was inevitable really. We ran it back for 4 straight years pretty much. Not many teams can do that without a rebuild at the end of it. I think Walters did well to put a team on the field this year that should still be the favorite in the West while starting a bit of a youth movement.

Yea...we just couldn't give him the money and opportunity he deserves here. Hopefully he gets rewarded in Hamilton.

ran it back 2 yrs...ran up to it the other 2 and got slapped away...if we being factual lol

  6. so hypothetically right now with guys signed/brought back excluding draft picks and any possible FA pickup.. would it be safe to say a tentative starting 24, sans TC competition which would give us our best line-up be:

Willie...Lawson...Fox...Haba up front (I have Haba there as he started games but truly don't think he's our best option...which isn't a bad thing by any means)

    Wilson...Biggie...Cole as the LB's

    Holm...Parker...BA....Nichols...Ford

    on offense

Big Stan...Dobson...Eli...Neuf...and lets say Vanterpool and Kolo as 6th

Lawler...Woli...Demski...Schoen...and lets say big Bodied Keytaon Thompson out wide with Cruickshank for now as the Returner/gadget guy

    ZC...and BO in backfield

Can't see that line-up by itself not being at least a 10 win squad at worst....But we have some guys....especially on defense now that I have looked at the roster that could really push for a role/starter spot...as well as a couple sleeper guys in offensive skilled positions too.

We get a solid draft...maybe 1 more under the radar key value signing as a free agent on defense...and things really look pretty good....younger...hungrier....and still have hat key depth with leadership and culture police

Especially if we can un-earth the Biggie heir apparent this yr, and have him be guided along by Biggie in a more rotational role to keep him fresh...

    .thoughts?

    Hell yeah.

That’s ideal imo. Kramdi can be a package guy, and general back up, ford the starter. Lets us flex soo many different ways.
The two high look can be done with Kramdi now instead of a hallett. Which lets us do more with split field zone, or use a small package to run gap cancel, or blitz from small packages.
Like we could go cheetah front, with all import dl, take the wil off, put in an extra saftey, and be able to defend any thing short of a heavy package. We could send one guy with the dl and instead of biggie getting eaten up by an ol we could send a db off the edge while the ol struggles to block 4 guys pass rushing in the front.

The upside with Kramdi kind of reminds me of singletary/the ss’s of the 46 bears era. there to make plays and like you said disrupt, forcing the offense not to go deep. Create pressure inside the tackle box and back field. Limit the offences ability to stretch sideline to sideline. The best Sam’s these days are generally bigger and play like that.

i also think if we actually utilize Ford and Kramdi to their strenghts...it allows BA to be a true safety, and thats a win right there...he will be 2 yrs removed from his injury...and I expect his all-star play to continue....plus we may have 2 new younger guys in secondary, so he will be key in keeping guys coached up

Sounds like RT, WR, DT, DE and CB are all going to be camp battles as of right now

RT I am especially not worried about, Neufeld has turned into a real stabilizer on that side of the line and I have a good amount of trust in our scouting to find a tackle who fits our scheme. They’ve shown to be very competent at it, we’ve supplied a decent amount of OL to the rest of the league AND they pro scouted Hardrick when he was still a pylon in Regina. Not a ton of concern there.

I am all for true competition in those spots...and RT isn't an issue in my mind either...I think we will easily find comparable, if not more varied use of our RT this yr with who we are bringing in to challenge....We were pretty confined with what we did outside there last yr...No knock on Yosh but his mobility was not like 2..3 yrs ago, and I saw him trucked too many times last yr for my liking

Agreed. We needed some people actually fighting for jobs and not just players pencilled into starting roles, healthy competition is good for a team. I’m wondering as well if Winnipeg was getting a reputation of a place where there wouldn’t be opportunity to earn a spot, if you’re a young prospect you want to go and play not sit on a practise roster for an entire season..

Complacency and comfortability had set in...and is never a good thing, even with a veteran laden team...some of this should have happened last yr, but pleased to see a god majority is happening now, tho a couple of re-signs are questionable...but could be gone after camp...guess we will see

I was thinking more along the lines of a rotation where Kramdi would take the majority of the blitzing / line of scrimmage stuff and Ford could see the coverage calls from the SAM spot

I think Kramdi is a pretty good disruptor at the line and in the second level. He whiffed a few, but he made good reads to get to the right spot to stop the run more often than I saw him not … I like both guys at that spot for very different reasons.

Also not opposed to Ford at the field side corner but we’re already pencilling in 8 Canadians so how many more do we really need

he gets to dance late tho...thats my issue...and still not sold on his tackling...and dont see it improving...Thank god he biffed on Rhymes last yr....Ford will get there sooner to actually disrupt a play...or minimize it as opposed to helping slow it down

I'd like to actually see us only declare 1 National on defence anyway....so we can freely swap out DT with an import, with a Nat in at SAM or vice versa...we started more than required last yr, but rarely utilized it to any rotation advantage...so whats the point....tho how we had our roster, and PR set up we had nothing in the cupboard to take advantage of it with anyway...especially with a spot being wasted for a pointless fullback, and one who made no impact on ST's

Maybe Krammer can change my mind and show exceptional traits as opposed to adequate at best...but not holding my breath there

Figured as much. Was hoping Gray would stick around. Wonder where Sheed ends up.

MTL or Hamilton...slight chance Ott but they seem to have what they need there SMS wie...though I would dump Acklan for Sheed if I was the GM there...just the guy they need to pull it all together

Small sample size but Ford laid some hellacious hits last time he suited up. If that is his style all the time, I wanna see more.

and showed great close and nice coverage...tho he shows that in practice all the time regardless so not a shock...just needed a chance and was not getting it at time with guys we had in front of him...He also excelled on ST's as well so that will help this yr too

Feel the love.... boy this site allows a lot of personal attacks and insults.

At the end of the day are we not all CFL fans and mostly on here all Bomber fans...opinions are just that and thankfully we are still allowed to express varying ones......thank a soldier

At any rate Carey to T.O is a good pick-up by them, if he came at a decent dollar. If he is healthy behind one of the best O-lines in the league he could do really well.

It's a nice break from my attacks...tho I expect many more....hahaha...I enjoy it to be honest....makes me laugh during a long work day...of working
