Doublezero got a reaction from Eternal optimist in Red zone
You may be right but that TD pass to Matt Nichols from Rory Kohlert was a thing of beauty.

Here you go ... this piece about Bladek passingly mentions Bombers. Bladek would be a smart pick at #1, he wouldn't last to #6 IMHO http://3downnation.com/2016/12/05/dariusz-bladek-becomes-canadian-and-top-ranked-cfl-prospect/

I'd have to find it, but I'm pretty sure in the article that announced he was eligible for the draft as a NI he mentioned something about following the Bombers while getting into the CFL...

Why? Lynch wasnt even a QB. Wildcat specialist. I don't know how that relates to Franklin. I bet they groom Franklin and deal Reilly unless Franklin gets a NFL shot.

normand is a better back than LaFrance...so we set there no worries if Harris needs a breather or goes down in game, and truthfully I would start him in place of if we couldn't alter the ratio to allow for Flanders, or another American back

Huge fan of Shakir Bell. I hope he doesn't end up in Saskatchewan.

They're probably getting close with Matt Nichols. That's my feeling. Kyle Walters admitted they don't have the same cap space they had going into this off season compared to last. That not all players on the 2016 roster would be back. I think this is one of those moves. To create cap space they have to release or not sign veterans in order to sign the players they want already on the roster as well as free agents in a bit over a month's time.

Hmmm.."surprised when he was traded" after the dismal performances of the prior season and a half and after his "understudy" stepped up and galvanized the team into a win streak. That does call into question his grip on reality.

If you want a pretty good and comprehensive break down of QB Matt Nichols. Just press on the arrows and follow the action..

Doublezero got a reaction from BigBlueFanatic in Bombers Off-Season Transactions
Nichols engineered a couple of stellar comeback wins vs Lions in October while the defence fell apart in the semi-final costing us the game. If there is any element of the team falling apart under pressure it was the Bombers defence. I remember a game where Calgary scored with 15 seconds left in the game to steal a win from us - how is that on Nichols? If anything it is the Bombers defence that consistently crumbled under pressure, not the QB.

Doublezero reacted to 17to85 in (My) Final opinion on 2016
This is how I feel too. They really built a solid foundation this year and with some good offseason moves can only strengthen it. I'd like to see them be more aggressive in their play calling but that's something I've been saying since they hired the coordinators they did. I like the OL they've got now, they gave Nichols tons of time and Harris lots of room, the DL has some good pieces and just needs to be more consistent, DB remains a strength, linebackers I think are better than they showed in that game and we have a decent number of options at receiver. Upwards and onwards next year.

Could it come down to the kickers? If so, I like our chances.

Doublezero reacted to Blueandgold in Depth Chart vs Lions West Semi Final
Aside from McDuffie being in over Fogg, this is the best team we could possibly assemble with our roster. We're remarkably healthy, no one expects us to win yet I see tons of reasons why we will.

For me its the Esk's not winning that is important. They are the only team in the league that I hate. I would like to see the Stamps out also, they have won enough, but honestly don't see anyone beating them this year. As for you guys, get after it. Let's bring that cup back to the prairies where it belongs. Defence wins championships. I'll be cheering for you this weekend. Good luck to you guys.

Doublezero reacted to wbbfan in cristophe the normonster
Earlier this season we saw flashes out of him. A screen pass with a jaw dropping hurdle. In CIS he was a beast of a runner. Hes developed into a good blocker and teams guy. Now tnite, albeit in junk time/game he was stellar.
Big, athletic, young and NI. I didnt give him a star or the HH but he certainly could have been one. Gotta give big props to the guy, maybe hes opening the door to steal some touches moving forward and even become the full time back up RB. Gotta work on catching the ball but man his future looks bright.
Havent seen power running like that since big mike. (for the bombers any way)

Doublezero got a reaction from blitzmore in Will MOS's stubborness cost us in the long run
Where was the 'MOS is too loyal or stubborn and shoulda pulled the QB' thread when Drew Willy was QB?
By this logic, I would set the number of games Willy should have been replaced at about 20 or 25 games.
That is stubbornness or something beyond stubbornness for you.
Nichols has one lousy game and he should be yanked. Get real.

Games this week without the Bombers...
Hamilton at Ottawa - Short game: The last Ottawa/Hamilton game lasted two hours and 36 minutes, making it the second fastest game of the season. The fastest game took place in Week 11 between BC and Toronto (2:30).
Toronto at Calgary
Montreal at Saskatchewan
Edmonton at BC
??Hamilton - no Collaros, no-no Banks
Ottawa - can clinch first place if they beat Hamilton this week (but not if their game is a tie)
Toronto - Ricky Ray is back. Ok, enough about that.
Calgary - No Deron Mayo, but apparently the win/loss record is more important than subbing players going forward?!?
Montreal - Vernon Adams Jr, will be welcomed to the CFL by the Riders
Saskatchewan - Fun times for now..
And the the game of the week...Edmonton at BC
CFL News
#BCLions must win by five points to take the season series w/ #Esks and remain in West Division during the playoffs. - @FifthQtr #CFL
The Eskimos will have the edge on Saturday night because of experience and quarterback play, but B.C. has the big play capability at wide receiver against a suspect Edmonton secondary. (Chris) Rainey has the ability to change any game, but in a close game Sean Whyte will likely be the difference ...
-Edmonton comes into this game having scored 40+ points in back-to-back games for the first since 2004 (Jul 16-30/04).
- BC ‘s loss last week gave them their first 2-game losing streak of 2016; they had followed their first 4 losses with a win the next week.
*The last three BC losses have come by a combined margin of just 9 points (by 4, 2 & 3 points to Western rivals).
*Hamilton and Ottawa had 5 lead changes in a game that was the second fastest this year – played in just 2:36.
??Which QB plays it out for their respective teams? And who should or shouldn't?
Durant - yes, he can at least get the Riders the lead before they look at other QBs
BL MItchell - no. He should start, get in rythym, then Tate should come in. But are they thinking too much about records?
??There would be nothing finer than a complete upset of the Stampeders by Toronto, or anybody. I'm getting tired of all the greatest team of all time bullshirt.
CFL - Low penalties: Last week’s games averaged a season-low 13 penalties per game.
There you go - Friday Night Football starts it off...

Doublezero reacted to Plaxico in Edmonton-Montreal/Calgary-Toronto Turkey day discussion
There really isn't a huge difference in time between plays in the leagues. In the NFL the play clock starts immediately after the previous play ends. In the CFL it starts once the ball is placed and the play is whistled in which in reality, makes the CFL play clock about 30, and even 35 or more seconds sometimes.
You're right though that Willy is over-thinking things and hurting from a weird lack of urgency required to play at this level.
