Really when you consider that if the QB position was part of the existing ratio the Bombers would still likely enter the CFL season with 3 International QBs.
 
Was Yantz in for rookie camp? He may have sealed his fate at that point. 
 
If it really came down to a simple Yantz vs Portis decision (which it almost never does come down to a "simple decision") then it's a lot more than a 2 hour field session. Who was doing better in the classroom? I'm not sure how the Bombers run their organization but many teams have quizzes during their film sessions. Who was doing better in the weight room? Lots of aspects that go beyond throwing a football.

Did the international kicker get an interview with the papers when he was cut? I'm confident that the club already had their minds made up on our kicking situation, the poor guy never had a chance.
The ONLY reason this is a story is because Yantz is Canadian, and it could have been a feel good story if he made the team.

Mims was chosen as one of this years starting tackles by a bunch of 'experts' on fan forums.  Cut before TC even starts?  LOL.

I would think maybe hope the goal is that taking a player at 2, there is some hope that he could play this year, maybe not to start the year but definitely should be able to take some reps, make the game day roster even, The one plus to taking, let's just say Demski is he can conceivably play special teams where an oline, well he wouldn't. Demski,Durant whoever, non OL player lets say. I think you hope that he can step in and contribute right away, like i said tho, doesn't need to be as a starter, can be on special teams. 
 
It's a tough call, the draft is so stacked i guess with OL prospects that you would think picking at 11 and 15 even that there would be a couple OL guys left to take. 
 
Tough call tho, Justin Dunk just did another mock where he has durant falling to 8 and demski falling to the 2nd round, doesn't mean much but sure would be sweet to be able to get Demski at 11, i think if we don't take him at 2 and he's there at 11, it's a no brainer. Just really don't know which way they are leaning with 2. If it was me, i'd want a player who has the ability to play right away, special teams even and maybe later in the year can play regularly on O or D. 
 
Still feel that due to the depth of the oline in this years draft class that it's very likely you could see a run in the first round on non OL players with the hopes that some will still be there in the 2nd round. 

Well Mr. Brown, 7 out of 10 all stars on the offensive line were Canadian, but only 3 of those 7 were first round picks, only one was a top 3 pick.
 
Everyone keeps saying this is a deep draft, the Bombers could draft an OL in the second round and still get a quality player who can develop. Whether or not they pick an OL at #2, the Bombers still come out of this draft with 2 OL.

I'd pick up Shomari Williams and use him on special teams, give him a chance to work his way into some snaps at defensive end.  That's his position, his career was ruined by Saskatchewan trying to turn him into a LB on the Canadian field.

Well, maybe that's not quite how Miller put it, but bravo Mr. Miller for setting priorities.

Exactly - Miller has to protect what he can control, and that is the decisions that will help make the Grey Cup a successful event.
​The mighty NHL always dictates how they want to run things…it's how they operate.
They could care less about the City and the Province and our Canadian tradition that is the Grey Cup game.
 
The NHL has tremendous respect for Mark Chipman, so there still might be hope if talks continue, but I hope the always-has-been-underdog Miller holds his ground in facing the bullies from down south.

When I was younger I bought a hat because of the T, and it snowballed from there. I began watching more NCAA football and figured I needed a team to cheer for, so I began following the Vols. It sure has peaked my interest in college football!
The Vols finally get back to a bowl game, and did it with a fairly young group. That plus one of the top 2015 recruiting classes, I'm hoping they can compete for the SEC title soon!

Here is the difference between Bomber fans blaming MB and rider fans blaming Cortez... Cortez has been one of the best OCs in the CFL for years and years and years while MB has peaked at average and shown for years that the best he can do is average. He has had bland and dull offenses every where he's gone and they've done just enough to not be a total embarassment at best. Cortez on the other hand has had CFL leading offenses many times on many different teams. One guy has a stellar resume and the other is the guy you hire when you have no other choices.
