CodyT reacted to mbrg in Around The League Off Season Discussion
Lol at Drew Edwards tweet - Good to see the CFL spent a whole two hours investigating.

Beware the scribe that stands by his story and when challenged doesn't back down. Dunk has nothing to gain by publishing BS stories.

Truth be told, the CFL O.T. format has made for some pretty exciting finishes, cept if you're a Rider fan.

You guys have convinced me. NFL OT rules are great! So great I think that some other sports should try to imitate them.
Golf could take on a more cut throat approach. You and your opponent are tied on the 18th green, but they get to shoot first and sink the ball before you get a chance to putt? ELIMINATED. Enjoy the walk to the parking lot, loser.
NHL shootouts could move to sudden death. If the first team to shoot scores, the other team doesn't need a chance to score back. Buncha participation ribbon wearing pansies! They should have just scored during extra minutes.
In chess, putting your opponent into checkmate is so tedious. I think simply putting someone into check should be good enough for the win.
Yay for CFL OT rules. You get to see both sides of each team compete for the win, and let the best complete team effort claim the top prize. The Pats seemed destined to win this game, I'm fairly sure their D would have stopped the Falcons anyhow, but it would have made their victory that much more decisive and impressive.
On the other hand, who wants to watch more NFL football than necessary? That's probably the best part about sudden death OT and the NFL; it ends sooner.

CodyT reacted to JuranBoldenRules in CFL Free Agents/Coaches
Would be nice if the league or TSN made a real clean free agent list that was sorted by position and nationality. League only has the list by team which is really clumsy to navigate.

sort of makes sense. Sinks in and the more thoughtful side of people come out. That's a crazy overall job approval rating though.

Bannon will make people nostalgic for the dove that was Dick Cheney.

It was a bit of a troll which is not my nature. More intended as a shot back at the never ending shots I have to read through just to find some football discussion sometimes

I don't want any part of Gale or Cato....I have faith that Davis is at least as good as those guys.

CodyT reacted to Rich in Game Day Chat Room
There has been enough interest that I will for sure investigate and experiment with some alternatives.
Current chat goes away at the end of April, so will need something setup for the draft.

there are probably around twenty people using it. don't think many of them are voting.
Please keep it, it's a lot of fun.

I'd like something like this. I don't go into the chat room during the game (too busy yelling at the TV) but I'd be interested in reading people's thoughts afterwards if it's not already in the GDT.

CodyT reacted to Super Duper Negatron in Game Day Chat Room
Is there any way to archive the chat transcript? The thing I enjoy about GDTs is that I can go back and read about events, opinions, reactions etc, as they happened during the game. A link to the transcript from a game after it is completed would be a fun read.

CodyT reacted to Noeller in Game Day Chat Room
If it's cheaper....then do 'er. I think there's probably about 20 of us that are regulars....every game....in the chat. On a good day? Like say early in the season...I think we do like 30 or 40 in there sometimes. It's usually a lot of fun...

CodyT reacted to Fatty Liver in Walter's Priorities Part 2
Careful what you wish for, Bass may not return and the next best candidate is Kyle "MR. ST" Knox. I think expectations on the MLB position are a tad unrealistic in these parts. Like Wild, Bass plays the game at a very high level and can not be accused of being a non-factor in any game the Bombers played this past season, he was literally all over the field. He contributed a decent number of sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles and was 8th in the league in tackles as well as being a solid contributor on ST's. Does he occasionally get steam-rolled in a "Hurlish" fashion? Yes, as would any 220 lber trying to fight off a 300 lb. lineman intent on blotting out the sun. Imo Bass does exceptionally well in the role he is given within Hall's D, which is a jack-of-all-trades, they may be able to find a better MLB in time, but I wouldn't bet money on it happening quickly.

CodyT reacted to Floyd in Bombers Off-Season Transactions
If Lulay does actually shake lose, I would seriously look at him as backup/third string... he's busted up but would be a great second set of eyes for Nichols.

CodyT reacted to Zontar in Around The League Off Season Discussion
Still a remarkable number of Jones defenders. If they can pretend being comfortable with trading away a team-heart and soul starting QB for picks they can certainly entertain Tate whom they previously derided as a selfish flake.
Jones has gone all in in blowing up franchise and his defenders are along for the ride.....right over the cliff if need be.

CodyT reacted to SpeedFlex27 in Advise the CFL
Get rid of the incidental contact after 5 yards. Amend the PI rules so it's not touch football. Both the receiver & defender have the right to the football so call it that way. Get rid of the coaches challenge except for blatant PI on both sides of the football only on the receiver or DB the ball was thrown to. No more fishing expeditions by coaches like Wally or Jason Maas looking for penalties somewhere else on the field. No more RTP challenges or whatever stupid situations coaches are allowed to challenge now. Limit the coaches challenge to one call only per half with no rewards of letting them have another if successful. Give the coaches team who unsuccessfully challenges a 15 yard penalty & a loss of down.

CodyT reacted to Colin Unger in If not Nichols, who would you like to see as our QB in 2017?
1. Durant
2. Burris
3. Franklin

CodyT reacted to Eternal optimist in If not Nichols, who would you like to see as our QB in 2017?
I'd like to see Bo Levi Mitchell hah...obviously that won't happen though. Based on the current market I'd pass on Ray based on his injury history. Everyone seems pretty high on Franklin but I think we'd be overpaying for an unproven player. I guess Durant? Seems pretty slim pickings...

BMO is a C at best don't get why people like it so much. People that whine about IGF have not set foot in other stadiums it's so superior to anything else in the country.
