If Hall does start, does he get Max protection?
The bye week can't come soon enough .

Mr Dee reacted to voodoochylde in Esks Release Burke Dales
Funny .. going back to last season he's been one of the better directional punters in the league .. it's been mentioned several times in the media .. I'll give you somewhat inconsistent at times but again .. you're arguing change for the sake of change .. if anything I'd rather have kept Cameron or Pavlopoulos allow them to develop within the organization versus overpaying for a well travelled vet.

It's OK...nobody's perfect.

Mr Dee got a reaction from Blue-urns in According To Burke, Buck Is The Starter
I'm in the middle of watching the Tor. game and I'll tell you right now there are 2 instances that I can spot where the O-Line is doing their job and keeping the D-Line at bay...but Buck...looks underneath for the 5-yarder, on 2nd down, throws completions, but for short gains.
Now, I couldn't see if the other receivers were open further downfield but Buck had at least a few more seconds to look...but didn't.
And on that note, in the 1st half, the O-Line was blocking for a hole but Simpson chose to go outside, twice...to no avail.
I'm not going to go all out for the O-Line but sometimes they get the blame and it's misplaced.

Mr Dee got a reaction from Blue-urns in Hamilton Cuts Knowlton And Patrick
No, what I'm suggesting is that our fan base should pay attention and not whine or cry when we cut a veteran for a younger (gasp) cheaper player because, obviously other teams do it all the time.

Mr Dee reacted to Jacquie in According To Burke, Buck Is The Starter
It was Lapo's decision to fire Barresi and Lapo chose Crowton. Barresi was really upset over his being fired and made the scapegoat by Lapo since he had little to no control over the offence. Personally I believe Lapo hired Crowton over a coach with CFL experience so he could keep his grip on the offence while Crowton was learning the league. This is certainly evidenced by the fact the offensive play book was part Lapo/part Crowton and the comments after Lapo was fired about the offence now having one voice.

Wow SSK looks good coming out of the gate this year - Whatever Cortez is doing with their run formations is absolutely beautiful (I think Sheets is good, I think their X's and O's are better)
Heh... betting against Edm run defense still keeping me strikeless

Mr Dee got a reaction from Blue-urns in According To Burke, Buck Is The Starter
Yes, you're right, LaPolice hired hired Crowton, he explains it all in the video you posted. But then again that's proof, so why would they listen to that?
It's maddening though, kinda like Burke sticking with his "no feasible QB- but play him anyway" policy.

Mr Dee got a reaction from Blue-urns in I Like Goltz ...
Just the fact that he could run, throw on the run and could make plays to secondary reads, says that he is at least a viable option to what Buck presented.
And he didn't have too leave the game...so wait, he was better than Buck yesterday.

Mr Dee got a reaction from Blue-urns in I Like Goltz ...
Watching that game live was unrewarding until Goltz got into the game, not because he was going to bring us back and win the game, but because, finally, he was going to get some meaningful reps.
And meaningful they were.
What he saw out there and his reaction to live bullets flying looked promising. And yes his ability to scramble was welcome. I liked that he kept seeing things downfield and was actually able to do something about them.
We're 1-3, looking at 1-4.
This is the time to make the switch in QBs.

Doesn't anybody find it ironic that they're sitting Denmark for playing below expectations, and the player replacing him is a guy named Pierce?

Mr Dee reacted to Mike in Ni Linebacker And Ratio
It's not possible to dress a strong backup at every single position. You're basically afforded the ability to dress a "strong" backup at 3 spots plus whatever good Canadians you happen to have as backups and there aren't many of those around the league.
As far as upside goes, I'd rather have guys like Hurl or Edem than Labbe. No doubt. As a gameday backup at this point? Not so sure. Edem and Hurl will bring rookie mistakes. Labbe may not be the most athletic or physically capable but he's responsible out there and if he's called upon in a bind, he knows his assignments.
I don't think your opinion of Labbe is very accurate, to be honest. He's not spectacular but that's why he's a Canadian backup. He's able to fill multiple positions if necessary. Could any of those other guys you mentioned fill the middle if called upon and still be able to do everything expected of that position as far as calling out assignments, etc? Labbe can. Not so sure those guys would be able to do that.
I think it's a case where you've seen Labbe on this roster for so long and he's so mediocre that unless he's making a mistake, he's not standing out so all you remember are the bad things he's done.

Mr Dee got a reaction from Blue-urns in A Tale Of Two Bucks........
His hesitation says it all.
Go with Goltz.
Damn the repercussions!
-
Mr Dee got a reaction from Blue-urns in Buck Pierce......should Goltz Start?
Goltz may not be deemed to be ready, but, right now we are playing a QB who is not ready to play a CFL game. Seriously.
So what's the difference?
Are you afraid of turnovers?
Missed throws?
Improper reads?
Read those three things again. That's our "experienced , best chance QB" right there.
Goltz may do those three things, but he may also scramble to avoid the rush, throw on the run, throw deep and I sincerely think he can handoff a ball.
Right now, there is no advantage playing Buck.
None.

Are we now finally seeing the downfall of the mighty Anthony Calvillo.
Even if it's a dreadful O plan, AC just isn't throwing the ball right.

Mr Dee got a reaction from Chaosmonkey in Bryant Turner Wins All 4 Player Of The Week Awards; Gives Away 3
Bryant has so inspired the club that no stone has gone unturned to find a another Turner to put some more awe in 'some', for it is known to many that one good Turner deserves another.

Mr Dee got a reaction from Noeller in Bryant Turner Wins All 4 Player Of The Week Awards; Gives Away 3
Bryant saw the need for all things 'turn' to be shaped and done, so it so became turner.

defensive player of the week HAD to go to someone one the bombers defense. Turner takes it home but it really was a team award as far as I'm concerned.

Mr Dee got a reaction from Uncle Bill in Buck Pierce......should Goltz Start?
I'm not here to defend Buck, Lord knows I'm not a supporter, but he hit Watson often and Kohlert often and tried with Mathews, but Mathews didn't seem focused. He scrambled (not well..but) and executed a questionable game plan, but, he did enough to win us the game.
While our D did win us the game, Buck did play a part.
I have said he needs to do better and he still does, but at least that gives us time for a back-up to emerge.
