  1. Hey speaking of NFL shots, I still haven't heard anything about Aaron Rouse signing on in the "the league." Almost makes you wonder if somebody was being disingenuous when he left town.
  2. Sure these guys are all great but shouldn't we be trying to get Drake involved? Now THAT'S how you turn around a struggling franchise.
  3. Download the Corus app. Listen to it on the phone. Easy.
  4. I think we all assumed Matthews would be NFL bound after this year. If anything, our chances of having him back next year have risen since he's had such a write-off season. Hall, what can you say? He was always sort of over-qualified for the CFL. And his play on the field has backed that up. And Muamba, that one's going to hurt. It all just underlines to me what a massive job the next GM has here.
  5. Crazy guess is they are both out for the season? Has Simpson even been around since he left for his daughter being born and then came back and it was announced he was hurt? I've been sort of feeling like he might be done as a Blue Bomber. Not saying he's traded but 9 game list and then he just doesn't come back. Pure speculation though.
  6. They should have won in 2002. Stupid injuries. They should have won in 2001 too, obviously. There are many reasons they didn't but Rick Warman giving Charlie 6 touches in the Grey Cup was one of them.
  7. Well, that is a depressing stat. No. The depressing stat is the idea that our 46th next TD pass from today could come in 2016. And even more depressing, this is still true. Unless I missed it we haven't thrown a TD pass since this thread was started. When you consider the amount of garbage time we play that's even more stunning. When was our last TD pass? Please don't tell me it was those Goltz to Etienne passes in the Calgary game? It was August 16 vs. the Ti-Cats. Hall to Kolhert. Slightly less depressing than if had been the Calgary game. Our 46th next TD pass will be caught by Chase Stegall.
  8. Normally I will defend the media or Lawless but this article was weird. BLM is not available. They aren't going to protect Tate, and certainly not KG. Collaros is needed in Toronto right now. If we are going to bring him in it's going to be like the Reily deal. I like Drew Willy but he's pretty unproven. Also, I don't want to bring our QB of the future into this mess. I would rather wait for the off-season. Bring a guy in now and by season's end everybody will be calling for his head. I would rather give a guy a fresh start next season. Finally, I think the possible new GM and certain new HC should be able to pick their own guy.

  10. Wally is really great at finding QB's. But if he was really really great he wouldn't have to trade for Buck Pierce.
  11. What? Next thing you know we're going to find out that Brendan LaBatte didn't decide at birth he was going to Saskatchewan as a free agent.
  12. Calgary's not giving up BLM. He'll be their protected QB in the Ottawa draft.
  13. But that chance might not come until the days leading up to the dispersal draft. By which point we will have to had to make a decision on GM. I don't think any of the contending teams (which is everybody except us and Edmonton) are going to give up their hot shot back ups in season. Wade needs to do his due dillegence from now until Grey Cup week. Then he needs to interview a bunch of guys and weight the results of those interviews against what he thinks Walters has accomplished or what he might accomplish. Then go from there. I would hate to see this resolved without at least a search.
  14. That guy has to be in his 50's by now... Would that necessarily disqualify hom from starting for the Bombers?
  15. I was hoping it was going to be Joe "747" Adams

  17. Do you guys remember back on Thanksgiving weekend in 2010 when we had that miracle comeback against the Lions? Alex Brink started the game and was awful but the Jyles came in and it ended up being one of the biggest comebacks in Bomber history. I think we all remember that game. With about a minute to go in that game Jyles sort of chucked one up in the end zone and Greg Carr made a great catch to get us within 3 points. Just to repeat that game was in early October 2010. Why am I talking about this right now in this particular thread? In 2002 Khari Jones threw 46 touchdown passes. One season- 46 touchdown passes. That pass from Steven Jyles to Greg Carr in October 2010 was the 46th last touchdown pass thrown by a Bomber quarterback as of today.
  18. Here's my theory on Goltz. He's an inaccurate passer. It's his tragic flaw. Arm strength, size, mobility are all the best of the Bombers QB's but if 3 out of 10 passes are two yards behind the receiver it's a big problem. Even if the receiver adjusts for the catch the YAC is compromised. We've seen him play in a few games and its fairly obvious even to use fans accuracy is a problem. But the coaches see him all the time throwing balls in practice. And my guess is they know he can't deliver the ball where it needs to go often enough to be effective. So where we've seen him miss guys 15 times they've seen him do it 1500 times. Of course I'm not in coaches meetings so for me to say what they think is only a guess. But what seems clear is that they don't have a lot of faith in him.
  19. The thing is people (especially the media) like to mock or critisize these small moves. But I don't see it that way. It's about getting better one player at a time. Its going to be painstaking and lengthy. Kelly is a little better then Anderson. Peach is a little better then Harris. So on and so on. And one day you are a .500 team and then you find better players again bit by bit and one day you are 12-6. I hope. So yeah these moves are meh and most of these players have less then stellar resumes. But they can still be an improvement over the guys who got you to 1-7.
  20. Hefney should totally still be on the Bombers. In fact he should be starting this Sunday- Weston Dressler
  21. Three words. Duncan O' Mahoney Kicking problem solved!
  22. Yeah if you had told me a month ago that Palardy would soon be gone I would have been been surprised. But the short kickoffs were killer and the fact they didn't even try field goals from outside 45 I guess says a lot.
  23. Who said its awesome? Take the stick out ya ass boiiii Who said I was being sarcastic? I say it's awesome.
