the watcher reacted to Floyd in Riderfans.com Game Day Thread
We have a another whole week of this stuff...?? You'd think we were on a losing streak heading into bye week

the watcher reacted to JuranBoldenRules in BOMBERS -Playoffs - ESKIMOS Out
If the season ended today we'd play Sask in the West Semi and have the 2nd and 3rd overall picks in the 2019 Draft.

By far the worst but their luck is going to run out. You can only rely on other teams to gift you wins before it catches up to you. There is nothing scary about this version of the Riders, without the miscues of their opponents they wouldn't even have half of those wins. They will be royally embarrassed come playoff time no matter who they face.

Collaros is brutal even if he is progressing... not even Richie Hall will fix that
Turnovers will win this game - need Nichols and Streveler just to 'manage' the game again

Agreed...and even tho I can't stand Rod penison and what he has to say...and his totaly Pro-Rider drivel and anti-Bomber B.S....I do have to agree with what he said and that the word around the league is that Winnipeg is a destination that players want to go to based on how they are treated here by management and by the enjoyment the players have playing for each other..all the hard work and ups and downs in what Walter's and Oshea have been trying to established has grown roots now and the benefits are being reeped

My optimism stems..... from stepping back a bit and just looking at the overall picture......
The club is run far more professionally, Miller may not be a cuddly sort, but I see some big differences, in terms of communication, game experience, et al.....and he lets the GM, GM.
We have a GM who really understands the CFL, in terms of drafting and adding Canadian depth whenever possible, has also added legit quarterbacks, and beefed up the scouting department, incrementally.
We have a coach that most players really want to play for....who conducts himself in an evenhanded adult manner, and expects the same from players. We are attracting the right kind of people, overall.
We have a dedicated all-Canadian management group - guys who eat, drink, and sleep CFL football, and want success in this league more than anything.
Bottom line:
For the first time in ions, we have real stability moving forward. Winnipeg has now become a place, where players want to come. A strong culture is being constructed here - doing the right things on and off the field - featuring a complete lack of.... or tolerance of...twitter fiends, clubhouse malcontents, me-me attitudes and undisciplined actions on the field.
When you add the points 3rd and 1 made about coaching and player leadership......a pretty bright picture ahead.

the watcher got a reaction from blue_gold_84 in When does the bowman experiment end? (Bowman traded to Montreal)
Every single team does this and always has.Every team signs players, has them not work out and cuts them. This is nothing unique to the Bombers.

the watcher reacted to Firekid in When does the bowman experiment end? (Bowman traded to Montreal)
You forgot to mention the lack of production from Bowman when he is targeted due to him dropping the ball..... Wolitarsky may not get many targets but at least when he does he catches the ball. And that my friend is the bottom line on why Bowman was moved for a bag of used footballs.

Wally WAS a great coach. Not anymore. I have no idea why he came back this year.

the watcher reacted to bearpants in Saturday: Do Bombers Win Doubleheader?
I really hope Lulay doesn’t play... not because he necessarily makes them that much better... but because he’s too great of a player and too great of a person to have his career end being peeled off the field behind that garbage o-line...

the watcher reacted to rebusrankin in Power Rankings - Week 2
Ricky Ray is 4th despite throwing for 300 yards with 1 pick and no TDs in 2 games. Offense put up 20 points in almost two games with him. Rankings are clearly a joke.

I loved Kahari but if he was calling the plays last night he did nothing to help Willy last night.Sutton looked really good last night but was way under utilized I my opinion.

the watcher reacted to O2L in 2018 Als Making 2013 Bombers Look Competent: Awful QB Management
This is probably the first time I can ever remember watching a game and just feeling terrible for the opponent and their fans. It should’ve been called at halftime. Willy gave our city a lot before he got shellshocked, it’s sad to see him like this. And it’s rough when your own fans are booing you off the field, but can you even blame them after 13 losses in a row?

the watcher reacted to Bubba Zanetti in Open Thank You Letter to Darian Durant
Dear Mr. Durant,
Thank you for leaving us in the lurch on the eve of training camp and stealing 70K like a thief in the night. Thank you for talking s*** about our team and fans on twitter which surely burnt all bridges and any chance the team would ever want your pathetic green tinted ass in blue & gold. For if you werent such an unprofessional POS we may never have uncovered the golden boy Chris Streveler.
May your shadow never darken the earth outside the borders of saskatchewan.
Sincerely Bomber fans.

I am not happy with the game. I'm here to face the music. I thought we would win. I actually thought we would run the ball a bit and bring some pressure

I can’t answer for D or D, but my feature, In Case You Missed It will be on hiatus for a bit while I go on the 6 game IR. It’s a bit of a process to put together that bit and I’m fighting some health issues at this time. I’ll be checking in daily with some minor stuff..and I hope that works out.

the watcher reacted to Booch in Game Day Thread - League Opener: Eskies
Yeah when have we may have landed a good one in Strev's
Agreed too..there were not any real instances of receievers just roaming free and wide open, and the bigger plays we got beat on were just good plays..and if it were to play again we make the play...I don't think this showing is anything to be panicked about..but if Montreal and Hamilton eat us up on defense..then we have issues...too much talent here to not be successful.
I think too...you add Leggett to the mix...we just became even better and have another vet who knows the inside and out stuff of a CFL defensive backfired and what and when to do things.
I will say tho that the coaches need to get off the Lankford love train. What he offers on returns we can get elsewhere on roster...or PR and have a player who could contribute moe than just returns...and that brutal fumble too...he hangs on we most likey get points...keep Reilly off the field from scoring and win that game warts and all
One thing I'd like to mention...That Bighill stuff at the goal line onn Reilly where he went over the top...can you ever see Hurl doing that???...hahaa

the watcher reacted to Booch in Game Day Thread - League Opener: Eskies
Some thoughts...Firstly no sense to jump to judgement of doom and gloom due to loss as well as there wouldn't have been a reverse jump to judgment if we won...you have to give it a game or two, and ones where you don't stop and go with delays 2 times.
Reilly will do what he did again to other teams as he has before to us and others..thats why he is League MVP.
The defense wasn't that bad...on the first long TD Randle had great coverage and actually got toe tangled when he went to make a play on ball and fell..you couldn't ask for better coverage and it was a great all around play...as well as the 2 point convert...Gaitor had great position and was a phenominal play and one 9 times out of 10 that receiver wouldn't have made...luck sometimes goes against you.
The defense will be good and when settled in...not an issue..Biggie although he Hurl'd it on one play made several plays that last years MLB could never dream of..and Reilly was his slimy greasy self and several of his escapes would have been sacks against anyone else.
Streveler played good all things considered...first game...new to CFL..conditions and delays and put us in a spot to win...he will get better so future there is looking good. He's smart and guaranteed he will not make same mistakes again...and really the pick Sherritt got was a horshoe up the butt play too...not so much a QB error...Wolitowski too if more sesoned would have came back for the ball a bit more to attack it as opposed to let it come to him.
Also I am not one of them "what if" type of guys but if Nichols was in there we win handily...he rips apart that secondary and the defense is off the field probably at least 5 mins less...if not more, as we would have controlled the game more and kept Reilly off the field...not to mention if Medlock didn't eff up that one FG the game is most likely tied or we possibly win...lots of positives and negatives to take out of the game.
Lets reserve judgement until after the next 2 games where I would be shocked we aren't sitting at 2-1

the watcher reacted to Atomic in Around the League: 2018 Season
Collaros is 4-15 since returning from injury... including the 0-8 from last season.
This is a guy who has never played more than 14 games in a season and never thrown over 3500 yards. He has been in the league since 2012.
He turns 30 this year. The OL in Sask is a total question mark. He looked awful in pre-season. Rider fans should be very nervous.
-
the watcher reacted to Booch in Around the League: 2018 Season
Couldn't have described it any better myself.
we also have the best kicker in league...and the riders now are going with a basically unproven rookie...certainly to cost a game or two when the pressure is on
The most bizzarre thing there is they have no depth at all behind any o-lineman..Canadian or American and are looking to start 2 unproven new Americans for whatever reason and truthfully sounds like a cap hell reason...so they had to jettison their best "proven" American....If you are buying Chris Jones's B.S about Bond being not better than who replaced him so doesn't justify keeping him then you are just plain stupid.
All the greeinie fans there were raving about him..saying how he was clearly the best...couldn't stop using the term "roadgrader" but all of sudden he was sub par...what a joke
If they suffer any injury to any Canadian they are in a world of trouble...not to mention multiple ones...They are so weak on the defensive and offensive lines with Canadians that it's almost comical...

the watcher reacted to Bubba Zanetti in Around the League: 2018 Season
18 game schedule with Nichols missing at most 5 games. Given the talent on this team, American and Canadian, the MASSIVE upgrade at MLB in Bighill (you guys will find out soon enough all about Hurl), because of which our safety can now be a safety instead of having to play close to the line to make up for Hurl's incompetence, which will help our secondary which was our Achilles heel last season, a more veteran presence in the secondary with Gaitor who replaces Walker, a perennial nearly double digit sack DE in Roh to rotate with Okpalaugo, Fenner who may be the 2nd best SAM in the league to hold down the fort until the best SAM in the league (Leggett) is back, Canadian RB Lafrance to spell the best Canadian RB in the league, perennial all-star TD monster receiver in Bowman, a healthy Darvin Adams, etc, etc.
What have we lost?? Heath who if he isn't getting picks is an average DB at best. Travis Bond who couldn't even stick on your sad sack o-line.
So yes, I think the Bombers should be freaking higher than 7th.
Serious question, do you think the Riders should be ranked 4???
You guys have a QB that has looked liked s*** for 2 years and in his pre-season tune-up, your o-line is patch work with no depth and huge question marks, your best DB went to the NFL, your Canadians are quite possibly the weakest in the league and their depth is laughable, and your starting MLB is Sam freakin' Hurl for gods sakes lol.
What have you guys added? A 34 year old DE??
