Oh come on, low incomes got a rebate on the carbon tax anyway. Motley has kept the NDP nonsense to a minimum and I trust her a hell of a lot more than Jason Kenney whose only goal is to sell us all out for a quick buck.

Good, maybe then we can get some proper progressive conservatives. I am so sick and tired of social conservatives co-opting the conservative name.
Praying to god Alberta wakes up and doesn't vote for Jason Kenney too because we have no need for hateful people like that running things.

I think a lot of Matt Nichols and think he’s a great quarterback who is having a pretty bad stretch right now.
But as far as the booing goes, any time a player on this team tells me or any other fan in the stands that they shouldn’t boo or they should be ashamed of booing, they should quite honestly STFU and realize most of those fans have been around far longer than they have and will be around long after they’re gone. Bomber fans as a collective have witnessed some of the shittiest football imaginable and stuck with their team through all of it, so forgive us if our frustration comes out once in a while because the team is playing like trash.
Any player who tells any fan that they don’t have the right to voice an opinion is wrong. That includes Nichols, Neufeld, even Andrew Harris who is one of the easiest athletes in Manitoba to respect. Yeah, we get it. You give a lot to the fans and the community. The fans and the community have given a lot to them too and we have the right to be disappointed. Period.

Stop playing anthems. Whats the reason? To alert the fans the game is about to start?!

C'mon 17to85, leave DougR alone. He, like the rest of us come here to get away from the everyday **** of real life. You can go discuss this in US Politics.  I also would like to suggest anyone who wants to talk about the NFL protests also do it over there.

Revival would be a better word for continuing a show with the same characters years later.  Roseanne was a revival.  Fraser would be a revival.  Reboot would be like if they re-cast Fraser and he had just left Boston

From reading the story it sounds more like a sequel with Frasier moving to Chicago and leaving the others behind.

They try to do much during the game.  So tired of interviews starting between plays then continuing on during a play.   I tune in for the football game, not the other stuff.  Show me the damn game.   Also the stupid camera angles or sideline shots are too long between plays as well.  I want to see how the teams are lining up prior to the snap.
Keep it simple and do the simple stuff well and people will be happy.   Try to do too much and do a bad job at it, and they will piss people off.

Friendly tip. Forget canned shave cream. Lots of cream out of the tube options and tons of soap for mugs or bowls. There's a certain gratification in learning to make good lather

I've used a safety razor for almost 10 years now and I got rid of shaving cream and shaving oil by buying a fog-less mirror and just shaving in the shower. Saves lots of time and money. Though when I have the time I enjoy the ritual of pulling out the soap and brush.

StevetheClub got a reaction from johnzo in TSN introduces streaming service for CFL games.
After reading @johnzo posts last year about it I also used a server from the Netherlands, but my plan this year is to look at the list of available countries and favourite them in my VPN (I use IPVanish) so I can just choose whichever has the lowest latency at the time.
The only issues I had with the stream were on my end. I live in Northern Alberta and my internet speeds would routinely drop below 5 Mbps. When my internet speed was even marginally higher than that the stream was great. Over the winter we were ungraded to lightning fast 15Mbps (sadly that is considered fast for our neck of the woods) so I'm expecting no issues this season. Sorry, don't know about bandwidth.
Like @johnzo said, there was one game that didn't show up in the archive until much later but other than that my experience was they showed up within an hour or two, often sooner, after the game ended, and the vast majority of the games I watched were archived.
The Bomber pass is perfect for someone like me who only has time to watch the Bomber games, and usually from the archive rather than live.  Not sure if TSN will allow you to watch archived games or not, but if that's not a big deal and/or if you want to watch all the games then TSN might be a better option.

If just for CFL or Bomber-only games, just get a VPN and use http://cfl.yaretv.com. They have single game, team, and league passes. I got the Bomber pass last season (and will again this season) and highly recommend it.

The coach, Darcy Haugan, was from Peace River, where I work and just down the highway from where I live. He coached the local junior team for 12 years before moving to coach the Broncos in 2015. I didn’t really know him but I did have the opportunity to chat with him many times when our  vehicles were in for maintenance at the Kal-Tire where he worked.  A really great guy.  In June 2017 the ground was broken for the town’s new rec centre and there’s growing talk of honouring him in some way, which I think is a great idea.

A lot of news nowadays is about sensational headlines, #fakenews, mass shootings, sexual misconduct, and a lot of things that tend to have a negative spin.  Main stream news anyway ... sports news is more about well sports news.
I find it refreshing when we get the odd feel good story thrown in.  As you suggest, I think this type of stuff happens more often than not, but what is wrong with celebrating that?    Celebrating simple humanity should happen more often than it does to remind everyone that in general, there are more "good" people out there than scumbags.

I'm not sure why you keep saying things like "it has no bearing on the topic". There  have been a couple of different tracks in this thread that are appropriate to the thread title even if you don't think they're relevant. I think we can all agree, well for the most part, on the topic of the abusers and victims that you've been referring to. I think, though, that the Romanado/Bezan situation  and apparently false accusations and how they affect the accused is germane to the thread.  Regardless of the frequency or impact on the accused, the apparent political opportunism displayed by Romanado is disgusting and demeaning. And maybe it's not having an immediate significant impact on Bezan but I think it is quite minimizing to say that it will just go away. I mean, just in this thread people are talking about the possibility of Darren Dutchyshen being an abuser based on an incident more than 15 years ago for which he was acquitted.

I think you're right about the false rate in the general sense that most people who come forward tell the truth, and I absolutely think it's about time people feel comfortable and safe sharing the horrible things that they have experienced and that the abusers are getting what they deserve.
That being said, it does seem that increasingly that in the court of public opinion it is guilty until proven innocent, and this I have a problem with, even if it affects a relative few.

I'm not sure if the winter has suddenly got a bunch of people in a pissy mood, but there is way too much caddy / sarcastic remarks and insults going back and forth between a number of posters over the last little while.
As a rule, we really don't like over moderating this place and take a wait and see approach on a lot of the "on the line" questionable posts.  Unfortunately this has led to things sliding too far in the wrong direction, and seems to be snowballing.
It is popping up in more threads than not, and not the kind of discussion we want to be the norm here.
Moderators are going to be taking a harder line on this kind of behaviour over the next little while.  You will get a warning or PM on these questionable posts.    Not going to immediately lead to a banning or suspension unless it become a recurring pattern.  So if you get a warning, take a moment to consider what you are posting that led to the warning.
