ok, tacklewasher has sold me. Jedi Fallen Order is downloading now.
(wow, it's fifty gigabytes. what an age we live in)
Depending on what you game like, you can set the difficulty to "Story Mode" and it is pretty easy to get through, plus falling off cliffs doesn't do damage. I did that first and am going through at the next level. It does make it a lot harder as damage does pile up.
Oh. And learn to block.

Just a note, I've seen it on sale for $39.99 recently. It's on for $49.95 at Amazon, if you can wait a couple days.
Here's the Metacritic score (79): https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/star-wars-jedi-fallen-order
I paid full pop for it and am glad I did.
I was a big fan of KOTOR and Mass Effect (1&2, 3 is stupid) and really liked my first playthrough of Fallen Order. There are some frustrating points (like timing jumps just right from an ice flow) but the story os good and the play is good.
I don't play multiplayer games.

So, instead of a discussion about Warren, this thread gets derailed yet again. Bleh.
I'm curious where her supporters will go. Some are closer to Sanders in terms of belief's, but I'd think there is a strong urge to just get Biden and be done, as that seems inevitable. Course the same could have been said years ago with Clinton, and we see how that worked out.

From my circle of friends/co-workers I think the ones who have kept cable are mostly doing it for sports. Now that streaming online has improved so much in the last year or so.... if TSN ever decides to focus on streaming... it'll really hurt the providers.
Only reason I haven't cut. I can PVR all the CFL games and watch when I want, or delete all the Riders games and watch the rest. But after paying for Center Ice and seeing the Jets current season, it's getting to be JUST the CFL keeping me around.

What I learned from watching this game is that the Grey Cup was more entertaining and I appreciate how focused our Blue were compared to the 49ers. After the 2nd interception the 49er players were posing in the end zone and "acting" up and at that point I realized they were going to lose. Totally unfocused, the coaches kept getting overly emotional whenever a call didn't go the way they wanted. Made me appreciate how good of a job O'Shea has done with this club.
But they do have a better half-time show

I've avoided Jets games because I cannot be assured that, after putting out that much money, the game is going to be any good.
I feel this way over buying Center Ice this year and not bothering to watch games. Can't imagine how folks who live inn Winnipeg feel about dropping the same money for a night.

Not likely in our lifetime.
https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/dont-panic-betelgeuse-is-almost-certainly-not-about-to-explode
But even at the prodigious rates it's going through helium, it'll probably be about 100,000 years before it explodes. That's not a guarantee, but it's where the science points right now. Even if that's off by a lot, the odds of Betelgeuse going supernova in the next century are extremely low.

Mine is a 65" LG OLED. Its our primary TV and is in our living room. I hear what you mean about brightness as we have a large window opposite the TV and I always have to pull the black out curtains. But it does look awesome with those deep inky blacks. I paired it with an OPPO 4K Blu Ray Player which was a splurge as at the time it was the best rated player but pretty expensive. There are lots of options now but its pretty awesome to throw in an older Blu Ray (as I did with the Sopranos) and have it be practically a new viewing experience!
Let us know what you get if you do get a new one!
On a semi related topic, Im slowly working on our basement. We bought my parents home and the basement was finished by my dad about 40 years ago (wood panneling, stucky, mirrors etc). I want to tear it all out and do a simple dry wall & carpet combo for a nice dark home theatre. I've always shied away from projectors but I'd like to go with a very large screen for a movie theatre experience. Anyone do this? (If I can afford it, we'd do an Atmos surround as well). Probably a year off at best.
@kelownabomberfan has a nice setup with a projector. My room is too small for one as I'm under 10 ft from the TV. I like my 60" but would go 65 if I went OLED. Price jump to 77 is insane (IMHO)
I painted the wood paneling instead of replacing it. When the basement was done (long before I bought it) it was framed for drywall, but then they put up thin paneling. So the put in scrap strapping to get the depth right. So if I pulled out the paneling I'd be having to tear out thousands of pieces of strapping. I just am finishing the ceiling, but left it a kind of home made drop ceiling in case I need to get up there again.
The Star Trek Thread!

I still go back to Babylon 5. Except for the first part of season 5, when they scrambled after not expecting the season, they had a good balance of an 5 yr underlying story with single episodes stories built in. I thought it was a good plan for keeping a series interesting.
