Really doesn't seem like the team initiated the release. Just doesn't make sense. Seems kinda like the OL that left us after a day late last season, Dan Barbados or whatever.
which is STILL better than what we have right now. The guys we got now put up terrible stats against crappy defenses too.
Goltz hasn't even had the chance to play against a really bad defence yet.
I just hope they do a real GM search. If Walters is the guy at the end of it all, then fine. But I'd like to see them go through the process at least, unlike how Burke was simply handed the HC job.
If we could get him for a 5th round pick, why not? Is Rottier worse than Kowalczuk or Swiston at guard? Sometimes players just need a change of scenery.
I have a hard time seeing him coming back next season. What more does he have to prove? Why risk destroying your mind and body for one more season? Tough way for a legendary career to end, for sure, but I really don't think he'll be back.
So do nothing is your answer? Surely you realize no one is trading a starting OL from a winning team at this point in the season. Sometimes a change of scenery can make a world of difference.
Well, either he's an emotional fool or has some secret plan to make Rottier play better by absolutely sewering him in the media. I know which option I'd choose.
Poor teams with poor coaching have the unique ability to make good players look bad. We should swing a trade for Rottier... doesn't sound like it would take much to get him.
