  1. Who plays right wing in the top six if not Stafford? Wheeler of course, then who? Take Laine off of LW where he has had so much success? Break up Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler? Switch Connor to RW? We have no depth on the right side right now. Stafford has a spot on the team this year, for sure. If not in the top six then surely the top 9. Maybe I'm crazy but I'm more concerned about winning now than "developing Armia." If Armia can score 20, great. If not, keep him out of our top 9 please.
  2. People age. That's just the way it is. You may want him to fade into obscurity so you can rememeber him as the young stud, but if he wants to stay in the game, I respect that.
  3. The bolded part is unsubstantiated. What exactly does that mean? Zero tickets have been sold? The season hasn't even started yet. Let's check in after the season and see where it compares to last season. That article was written by a gentleman with an agenda, he doesn't like how Hervey treats the media and he's intent on proving himself right.
  4. Of course what this doesn't take into account is the boost in revenues the next season(s) from being a winner. I imagine season ticket sales would go up. In a city like Winnipeg the after effects could be substantial, dwarfing the 2-3 million dollar "cost" of winning the Grey Cup.
  5. Hall is still one of the top wingers in the game. I could see them moving Eberle or RNH but not Hall. That would be a huge blunder.
  6. That's the only thing that worries me. In 2014 he flipped off his coach and told him he was going to kill him. But by most accounts he has gotten over that...
  7. I don't see him as a joke. No one is forcing him to stay involved and at this point a manager role is really all he could do... I gasped when Natalya slammed him down for the sharpshooter because I thought he was gonna break in half. Really disappointed to see Sandow go. Hope he resurfaces somewhere. Probably Japan.
  8. Yes the order doesn't really matter.
  9. I'm thinking Puljujarvi at 2 now, more than Laine. Just seems like a better fit.
  10. I think he makes a fair point that there is very little that a wrestler can do to improve his standing in the WWE. Hard to gain fans when the writers have you losing every week. And the wrestlers seem to have little influence on creative decisions so in the end, if you get buried, you get buried. But on the other hand, no one is lining up to see Ryback the way they might line up to see Cena, Lesnar, Rollins, etc. And so it makes sense that he makes less money than guys like that. Even with writing that favored Ryback, he's never going to be a big star like those guys. However I think this will be good for Ryback's career. He will leave for awhile, maybe work on his craft somewhere else, and then he'll get the big comeback in WWE a couple years down the road when the fans are ready for him to come back. The comeback story is always great in wrestling, it is the hidden silver lining on long term injuries or estrangement from the WWE.
  11. I feel like Timmis or Butcher might be a reach in the 9/10 range. Also I don't think we really need a runningback. My preference would be any OL not named Dillon Guy at 9, Trent Corney at 10, and then try and snag a receiver at 19. That gives us 3 good players right off the hop at positions where we could use them.
  12. Scary stuff. http://globalnews.ca/news/2677885/mayor-issues-warnings-as-fire-situation-in-fort-mcmurray-intensifies/?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link
  13. You're right. Every guy is different. I'm just trying to offer an alternative viewpoint. Seems like the answer to every problem is always "bring up more young guys." The teams that have done a real rebuild like Chicago or Pittsburgh pick 3-5 guys to build around and then rotate through different supporting veterans and rookies. If Scheifele, Ehlers, and Trouba grow into the players we expect, then how do you sign guys like Laine and Connor down the line? There won't be enough cash to go around. At some point you have to pick a core and say "these are the right guys."
  14. It's not so much about the age but about rushing players into the lineup before they are ready. You see the regression with Lowry and that's a direct result of not making him earn his spot.
  15. You are. He played 80 games with the Jets in his first year.
  16. Lowry was given a spot right out of training camp. Same with Copp. If there was no one else for those spots it's because we didn't sign anyone. In other words they were pencilled in before camp even started. Not a great idea, IMO. I don't necessarily disagree with bringing in Connor and Laine right off the hop but I'm very worried about 1. Ending up like Edmonton and 2. Alienating good veteran players like Wheeler by giving rookies spots they didn't earn and wasting the prime years of veterans' careers while young players "find their way." We already saw this with Ladd. He obviously didn't want to be part of the rebuild and it wouldn't be surprising to see other guys wanting out, too. I know the prevailing wisdom among the fanbase is younger = better and all prospects are better than our current players but in reality it doesn't work that way.
  17. There was Ehlers last year. I'd argue Lowry was gifted a top 9 spot without really earning it and I'm not sure what he's done to keep it. Copp, similar. Now we're looking at bringing in both Connor and Laine. I prefer the approach we took with Scheifele. Make the kid earn a spot.
  18. I find it very interesting that the overwhelming narrative when the Jets moved to Winnipeg was that the Thrashers had brought up players too quickly and ruined them (Kane, Burmi, Bogo). That doesn't seem to be a concern anymore as we rush to get as many 18-20 year olds in the lineup as possible...
  19. I don't actually think that trade is feasible I just wanted to throw it out there. Would be funny to trade him to the Riders and then have him announce his retirement though.
  20. One of my all-time favourites for sure. I don't think he was that critical of the Bombers after getting cut. Maybe I just don't remember correctly but did he ever say anything bad about the organization? Not that I can recall. And even if he did.... Burke/Mack was a total mess and any criticism would have been justified. Just the same as the majority of fans were critical of that 2013 joke of a season. Sounds like that injury really took a big toll on him. All the best in the future.
  21. Riders getting screwed pretty good. That's a fourth round pick!
  22. Trade him to the Riders for #1 overall
  23. CFL media reporting on CFL media
  24. I haven't had MTS since about 2013 so they may have improved but when I did use MTS, there were issues all the time with outages and service quality in general. I've never had any trouble at all with Shaw. The closest thing I had to an issue was when I got a PVR box from them. I was talking to customer service in BC I guess, and had everything all worked out. So I went to the Shaw office to pick up my box and they had no idea what I was talking about. Long story short they ended up giving me a PVR box absolutely free (yes I own it) because they were so hopelessly disorganized.
  25. I've found that Shaw's home services blow MTS out of the water, in terms of TV and Internet. Never used MTS for cellphone service. I was with Telus for years but eventually got fed up with their poor coverage in Manitoba so I switched to Rogers. Good service and no issues with billing or customer service but I've heard others have had nightmares. FYI Logan007 I still get Rogers email bills every month
