I still have high hopes for Lowry. He regressed in pretty much every way last season but hopefully that will be a wake-up call and he comes back with his best season yet.

That's debatable. He was putting up about 0.5 points per game in the AHL on a pretty high-scoring IceCaps team. Not bad numbers but that doesn't scream out "ready for the NHL." I'm not saying it was a bad move but he definitely didn't force his way into the lineup. He got a spot because it was given to him.

I look at it this way, you have 8 guys who are more or less locks to make the team: Nikolaj Ehlers Mark Scheifele Blake Wheeler Mathieu Perreault Bryan Little Patrik Laine Shawn Matthias Drew Stafford Now you have these guys battling for 4 or 5 spots: Lowry, Copp, Burmistrov, Thorburn, Peluso, Armia, Dano, Lemieux, Petan, Connor Sure Lemieux could make it but he's got some good, experienced players ahead of him. I think he starts with the Moose.

Yeah Sewell was such a good backup tackle that the team starting two Canadian tackles traded him away.

So the fact that Rush and Butcher were cut means that we should stop looking at Canadians that got cut afterwards from other teams? What exactly is the point you're trying to make here?

Week 3

People are really pissed off or totally don't care about the Bombers. Its pretty bad right now. There is just nothing to cheer for. An offence that plays conservatively and is off the field in 2-4 plays every time. A defence that plays conservatively and doesn't tackle well. It's boring, ineffective football. At least we had the exciting defence under Kelly and for a couple years with Lapo. Now what is there to get excited for?

What did you have in mind

Gale was a free agent up til the end of training camp when he signed with the Argos, Sewell is a guy who had huge potential but hasn't seemed to come close to reaching it yet. Seems like a big price for Lemon but the Argos just got better. Riders had a rookie American beat out a big money free agent for a job. Imagine that. Walters and O'Shea would never have the balls to make that decision.

Mack put up 20 wins plus a playoff win in his first 3 seasons with the Bombers. Walters is going to have to win 8 games this year and a playoff game just to match that total. Which seems incredibly unlikely. Not sure he can blame Mack for that.

At least when his GM bought him a bunch of good players, he took them to a grey cup victory. When O'Shea is bought a bunch of good players, all he does is make them worse players.

Decent bottom 6 guy. Likely 25-30 points per year, 28 years old. Good size. He can play wing or centre.

I'd give them the year, regardless. I don't believe in firing coaches mid-season, generally, and certainly there's no reason to fire a GM mid-season. Firing O'Shea at 2-6 means Lapo gets promoted, maybe he goes 5-5 in the softer part of the schedule and now we give Lapo a big head coach contract like he's gonna save the team. No thanks. But this is all so premature. If Winnipeg beats Calgary I bet all is forgiven and you'll be seeing fireworks in the skies of Winnipeg tomorrow night.........
