He was a pro bowler after his return to the nfl from Winnipeg. Not in his first stint when we left Edmonton.

I'm not sure why you're splitting hairs about when he was in the Pro Bowl.... is it less of an achievement after his time with us?

I could do with another 2019 Grey Cup - leave no doubt from start to finish.

I could do with a 2022 Regular Season with the '19 finish.....

Not a specific old Bomber game related question but this seems the most appropriate thread to ask this following question. I was over on Facebook, and there was a posting about how the Bombers coaches and players had a meeting and decided to turf Sean Salisbury during the 1989 season. I don't remember this, or perhaps I have chosen to forget it? Lee Saltz did take over and play the final few games and playoffs despite Salisbury leading the East in passing at the time. I just thought we released him to go to the NFL? Does anyone recall this?

I've read SOMETHING similar... that Murphy had just had enough of his ego, and tossed him. But it's absolutely possible that the players were in on that decision as well. I think most people believe they won that 88 GC in spite of him, not because of him...

Looking forward to Roadhouse ,although i doubt it'll be anything like the original. Swayze was a legend.

and I think future generations will look at Gyllenhaal the same way... the guy is a truly great actor.... but originals are almost always better.

  4. last night I finally got around to the new Road House (it's not gonna change the world, but it was fun...) and The Iron Claw (really powerful.... incredibly sad family legacy). Capped it with a documentary on Netflix about the making of the "We Are The World" song back in the 80s... really interesting story behind that and a neat look at Pop music at that time. Definitely recommend all three...

    Slow news day

Isn't it funny that after people on here mentioned the ticats had a bigger offer than BC after that other article was released....a week later this one comes out?

Sup Dunk? An article about the Bombers dominance for the past decade would be sweet! Thanks!

It's ******* Hodge... Who, again, I'm not sure ISN'T just an AI creation of Mike's.... This site has the best Bombers info anywhere in the internet. If you're gonna steal from somewhere, you may as well steal from the best.

We went to the Childrens Museum a few weekends ago with other couples and children and outside of the Forks area was still sketchy.  Homeless camps and questionable people wandering around that I wouldn't feel safe.    Within the Forks it was very busy and a nice mix of all ages and types of people.  The food court is really good at the Forks ,  above average offerings and it's a decent atmosphere.  Was only accosted by one methed out dude but thankfully he wasn't aggressive.  Talking with the other parents they hadn't been to the Forks in a long while because of the safety concerns from the frequent attacks and were all perhaps reconsidering since this visit wasn't all that terrible.

The next day I get sent this link:

    https://globalnews.ca/news/10354158/teens-arrested-charged-altercation-security-forks-market-winnipeg-police/

Missed the incident by only 30 minutes,  but once again re-affirmed why the area sucks and even more reason why I won't be bringing my family back at the Forks anytime soon.

As for your comment,  I have several friends and even myself at one point who had moved away and then either misremember Winnipeg or see it through nostalgia-glasses... but they all romanticize coming back to the Peg.  Usually it goes away after coming back for a few weeks and the honeymoon period wears off.   Fishing at the Forks in theory makes perfect sense... unfortunately the more likely result will be trying it out and getting tired of always looking over your shoulder and never being able to relax and you ending up with everyone else going to lockport ,  Selkirk, or Gimli where you can relax and have a nice safe and peaceful fishing experience.

always appreciate your optimism around here... you're a boon the atmosphere, always!

i was surprised and impressed with Paddy's poise and intelligence during the interview. He would make a great TV analyst/commentator when he's done pushing people around.

dude is really well spoken and just seems like a good dude....  during the pandemic, the Bombers re-aired the '19 GC online and had various players doing a "watch along", and Paddy and Jake together were brilliant during the re-broadcast. So much fun... I'd pay folding money to re-watch games with the Bombers in their theatre-style meeting rooms.

Violent crime has been on the rise but it's back to levels of around 2009.  We need addiction spaces and housing investment, which the last gov't did not do. So, a much improved gov't will fix this. The last gov't was a disaster for this province.

    Property crime is down.

    amen to all of this!

There are lots of new developments, apartments and whatnot. It's booming down there.

I keep reading about knife attacks and what not, but every time the wife and I are home we say "when we move back, we're gonna spend a lot of time at the Common... especially in the summer..." and probably fish around there a fair bit, too, I think.....

The idea makes sense... unfortunately the area has had a drastic increase in violent crimes so I'm not sure if the desire for folks wanting to move in that area is all that high.

unless the condos help refurbish the area and remove the criminal element?? I dunno..... but maybe worth a shot.

This sums up how they view the FB position.

"The retirement of Miller – he’s now the special-teams coordinator – and the release of Damian Jackson last month also means the team does not have a fullback on their roster. That said, it’s not necessarily an urgent area of need. The Blue Bombers often use a sixth offensive lineman in short-yardage situations and could also feature a bigger-bodied receiver in fullback-type sets, too, if need be.

“I would believe that as a group – Buck and his group but also JY (Jordan Younger, defensive coordinator) and the defensive staff – they’re always able to fit the pieces together. Do you ‘need’ a fullback? I don’t know. Would you like one? Sure,” said O’Shea.

“We all have our philosophies on that,” added Walters. “If you dress a seventh O-lineman, is he athletic enough to handle that? Sure. Can a bigger receiver do that? Maybe. You don’t need to reach for a fullback that’s going to play eight snaps a game.

“But we obviously don’t have one on our roster and Marty and Buck would sure like to have one. We won’t just grab one at No. 8 (Winnipeg’s pick in the first round) because we don’t have one on the roster. It’s certainly a position group we’ll watch and there are some interesting guys here, two or three fullbacks here and a couple bigger tailbacks we’ve identified.”
