    Legit contenders back tonight.
last couple weeks we dominated the 2 best teams in the league in their rinks and won. Dallas and NYR.

lost to garbage teams. Streaking. Best overall game since the rangers win.

stanley and samberg were very good together today. Stanley making a case.

Really feel like the team from earlier in the season.... The team that didn't let more than 2g/game.... Is returning to form. If THAT team is in the playoffs, they're a tough out.

Yup, the Jazz moved from New Orleans to Utah but kept the name.  It happens every now and then... the Lakers moved from Minnesota (land of 10 000 lakes) to L.A. (home of a whopping 6 natural lakes) but kept the name.

Some times keeping the name is appropriate. The Atlanta Flames were named after the Civil War burning of Atlanta but the name still works in Calgary because they are a tire fire franchise.

the Baseketball scene where they reference all the teams moving is so great....

  3. interesting... Dave's been working for a station out of Saskatoon... I have some buddies working there. AM Country station, primarily, with a particular focus on news and sports. Dunk, I thought, was based in Ontario. Not sure if he's moving to The Gap, or just going to fly to various games or what... but it's a young duo that's clearly very passionate about the CFL... so that's a good thing. It's going to likely be a much more professional broadcast going forward, at the very worst.

Yeah Tkachuk is the same guy who was admittedly laughing his ass off when his teammate took a slapper into an empty net not too long ago.  He has zero room to be upset about something like this.

That's exactly it. Tkachuk had a phenomenal game and I get why the situation pissed him off but it's a comical overreaction ESPECIALLY given the previous incident.

  5. Also the reaction isn't quite as big from Sandler (Carvey actually seems the most surprised by it) but I do remember them talking about this sketch and how Farley was supposed to be a nothing part in it, but he just decided on his own to take it up 5 notches to try and break the other cast. Unbelievably funny.

  6. There's a famous story among true SNL nerds about this sketch where Farley was just like an extra person in it. It was a restaurant scene and I can't remember if Sandler and Spade were waiters coming around with the cheese grater thing or what it was, but Farley was just a customer in the restaurant... And before the sketch, Farley says to Sandler "I'm gonna getcha in this one..." Sandler "dude you're barely in it... You can't get me..." And so Sandler comes around with the cheese grater or pepper grinder or something and asks Farley and the woman playing his wife if they want some more ________ and Farley just unloads with a bellowing "WHY YES!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!" and Sandler loses it... Trying to not look at the camera. The best always did it for the rest of the cast and if the audience came along for the ride, then bonus....

  7. There's a lot of "we won last night!" glossing over what's been a particularly bad stretch for the Jets. Gotta remember Calgary is AWFUL, and for stretches last night, the fLames badly outplayed and outworked the Jets. That's concerning when viewed with the rest of the last 10ish games. I'm personally hoping that it was just a lot of illness going through the room and they get on the wagon just as playoffs are starting. Run a heater for a couple months...
