Special game time: 6:30 pm Sportsnet

The story - Debuts of Toffoli and Miller presumably , as the club tries to bounce back from “the worst performance ever in the Bowness era” (according to the coach himself). Caps on a 4 game winning streak against the Jets.

never got past the first period so I'll take Rick's word for it.

Two headed monster or dangerous is a pretty generous description but I guess it was one of the few years in the 70's and 80's that the Riders finished above .500 so while not all that great compared to the rest of the CFL, it certainly was pretty good QBing by Rider standards.

ok then how about Wilkinson and Moon in Edmonton? LOL  Moonkinson - I just made that up.

Worked like a charm I'm the 2019 playoffs so I expect that to continue

would like to see a bomb to Brady in the end zone in this year's GC by Strevy like we saw him connect with Harris in 2019.  Always like to see Brady used more for screens and receptions, though as we saw in the Ottawa game, he's got to remember to hang on to the ball.

Looking back at great qb. tandems in the CFL...I would have to rate the Russ Jackson and Ronnie Lancaster as one of the best twosome's....They were a force back then... Eventually though Ottawa traded Lancaster to Sask. and it worked out well for them... Russ continued to play 'lights out' for the Rough Riders ...I think our duo of Streve and Zack are very comparable and they'll be a helluva problem for opposition defences ...Scheming for us will be a huge problem for the rest of the league...Looking forward to it.......heh heh

Still remember in 1981 when the Riders had Huffer and Joe Barnes as a two-headed monster at QB, the advent of "Barnagel" as it was called was especially dangerous with Joey Walters at SB.

Message to latest players acquired......'That was not the real Jets'.....It looked like a well rested Canuck club as opposed to a 'bagged' team coming in from Seattle ...What  crappy scheduling.....Don't like ever using that excuse but c'mon.....We'll even that one up in our barn in the last reg. season game....bloody rights

I was wondering about that too - how many times this year have the Canucks benefited from a team coming in from a previous night's game in Seattle?  Of course, the Jets often get the same with a team coming in after playing the Wild the previous night...so...there's that...I guess.

This is the game. I’m not sure if there’s clips of players going into the stands, but the enndzones were clearly pelted with snowballs by the middle of the 4th.

Had to do a double-take at 36:44 when I saw an old familiar face on the sidelines standing beside Urban Bowman.  He must have been "handling things internally" during this game lol...

At 2h48min they show one TiCat way up in the stands, not sure if any others joined him. They did show 3 other players being led back towards the players bench though.

Such a dominant game by the Bombers, too bad they laid an egg in the Grey Cup.

Dunigan and Collaros had/have the same problem - they never play their best in Grey Cup games....

Man did we have a great defense in 1992...

Good for Don Wittman for calling out Winnipeg Enterprises in this debacle with the field & the failure to properly remove the snow. WEC was a total waste of taxpayers money & being on the Committee was a real perk for City Councillors. Free tickets for any of those politicians with seats in a private box for any event that went on at the Stadium or Arena.

at one point in the game Don talks to John Wells about how the day before John had done the broadcast of the national Junior football championship game (I think the Regina Rams were the victors) on CBC and I was thinking - "wow, the CBC used to broadcast games like that...what happened?"

  9. I know that I was at this game:

I remember how cold it was up in the upper East side stands that day, but then the sun came out and warmed us up.  Interesting to see that Terry Evanshen was the color guy.  In 1988 he was in a serious car accident and it wiped out his entire memory of his life, prior to the crash.

you're 40 years too late with that advice...lol...not sure how else you handle being a life long fan of our two sports teams in Winnipeg....

Montreal has a guy named Randy Rhino!!! RANDY RHINO!!! ... this is the greatest name I've ever heard... why have we never heard of this guy!?

    LOL

I was shocked when I saw Fred Biletnikoff on the field for Montreal, I forgot that he came out of retirement in 1980.

  12. I've decided to watch old Bomber games wherever I can find them, as the off season continues to wear on me and I long for football.  Here's my first contribution:

EDIT:  I am pretty sure I was at this game, as a young man, as my dad was a season ticketholder in 1980 and I was able to go to most of the games with him.  The 1980 Bombers will forever be one of my favorite teams of all time.
