I think the only time I've ever really seen Calvillo struggle (after he'd established himself in Montreal) was when Bellefeuille was the coordinator there. That season was a complete gong show from a protection standpoint and Calvillo got abused.

It was Pontbriand. Right at the point of attack too, without that illegal block there may not have been much of a return to regret. Your definition of "point of attack" is certainly different from mine .. Pontbriand was about 10 yards away from the returner when he engaged the Rider player .. really didn't need to touch him at that point as there was already a decent seam for Veltung to hit.

No. QB is considered a runner if he slides head first (and is not afforded any of the protection a QB gets when he's 'giving himself up'. Only considered down when someone makes contact with him.

Chris Jones gets away with all kinds of dirt cheap ****. He deserves to be screwed on that play. I don't give a rats ass about Jones .. just the fact that a referee was standing RIGHT there .. watching the play .. and completely missed it. It's inconsistency like that that makes the league look bad.
