  1. I think whomever is planting their flag in the ground and saying "it's all this guys fault" is incredibly short sighted. I wish I could live in a world where everything was so black and white. To go from where we were at a few short seasons ago to where we are now, multiple guys get to wear the horns. Even acknowledging all of that, we are an organization that's enjoyed an unparalleled level of success (on and off the field) these last several years.
  2. His protection has been getting worse year over year for the last three or so years and Zach been increasingly uncomfortable in the pocket. Scheme (this year) was definitely a factor but Zach himself has gotten happy feet and he's as much to blame for the shots he takes as the inadequacy of the offensive line or any offensive scheme.
  3. So punishment versus justice .. got it.
  4. No .. I'm looking at two different situations dispassionately and see one man with a documented history of bullshit and the other doing something completely out of character. It's not the same thing.
  5. Why would anyone have any sympathy, empathy or compassion for a man with the history Chad Kelly has? The Toronto incident isn't the first documented case of him being a shitty human being. Mitchell on the other hand doesn't have that same documented history. On it's surface, it seems like something from out of left field which is why people are willing to give him some grace. That's not excusing or accepting the behaviour, it's simply acknowledging that humans do stupid things at times whether it's from ignorance, inexperience or stress. It feels very much like a dude who needs help so comparing Mitchell's situation to Kelly's is ******* absurd.
  6. I love Brady and the fact that he’s a Winnipegger but his salary is a luxury at the leagues most replaceable position. I said it in 24 when he earned the contract, I’ll say it again now: if I was building a roster RB is not the position I’d blow my wad on. There are guys out there who can do what he does .. who don’t HAVE to do what he does .. and could (more than adequately) fill the role while allowing us to address other areas of the roster.
  7. No, he doesn't. He brings in talent but has no say in game day roster or who the head coach decides to keep. What you're describing is the hallmark of a dysfunctional organization. One of the reasons we've been so successful over the last decade is that each of Miller, Walters and O'Shea have stayed in their lanes and allowed each to do the job they've been hired for. We can question whether or not Walters acted prudently with respect to our pending free agents or if he did enough to fill roster needs. We can question whether or not Walters held O'Shea accountable for his decisions over the course of a season. We can question O'Shea's in game management and roster make-up but to suggest that a GM is going to unilaterally release players without input from the coaching staff is ******* absurd.
  8. Randolph was addition by subtraction. He was better than Lofton but he still wasn't particularly good. To be honest, I don't think there's a single "untouchable" or cornerstone guy left on our offensive line. I'd say Big Stan (for his leadership more than anything) but I his days as a premier tackle are behind him.
  9. That would give me Bill Belichick vibes .. great coaches but abysmal personnel guys.
  10. I agree with what you're saying but those same qualities that make him a great coach to play for are the very same qualities that can destroy the culture they've built if he's not mindful / refuses to adapt.
  11. It's might be that Eli's best ability is his versatility and he's never going to be more than a 6th offensive lineman.
  12. All I'll say is this: where and how we've chosen to allocate our money is one of the reasons why we are in the situation we are right now.
  13. Genuinely curious: if we cleaned house this season who do you look at as a potential GM and HC?
  14. We come out READY TO PLAY and this could have been a different game.
  15. The D did themselves no favours not getting off the field early in the game.
  16. Hey Wilson .. your jock is on the Montreal 50 better go pick it up
  17. FFS nobody picking up the back?
  18. That play to Wheat is what Zach should have done on the previous play - dump to Sterns who was immediately open.
  19. TAKE WHAT’S THERE
  20. He might as well catch the ball because he wasn’t blocking anyone there.
  21. That’s the definition of one team playing to the whistle and the other not..
  22. For as good as he is, Brady puts it on the ground at times. If Montreal comes away with points that could be the nail in the coffin.
  23. Watching Parker chase receivers is getting a bit old.
  24. Wilson needed to Put a foot in the ground and get north south.
