  1. At least terrible tackling isn't unique to the blue n gold .. Wow ..this game is there for Hamilton to take
  2. Geezus. Reilly keeps taking shots like that he won't last the night. Edmonton's line is terrible.
  3. Unless it's in an effort to replace one (or both) of our existing tackles. Boatman, as far as I'm concerned, has no business starting on our line as an import .. his performance doesn't justify it.
  4. Simple fact is that the organization has finally woken up and realized they need continuity at the most important position on the field.
  5. Hell, we only won a few of those games because the defense put points on the board .. It's not all Pierce and his magical ability to finish a game.
  6. Calvillo wasn't happy that he wasn't putting up gaudy stats and was more than ready to throw a new head coach under the bus. 2-3 isn't terrible and should have been expected coming out the gate with a new staff .. new system. There were going to be struggles. Hawkins really wasn't given a chance to work through them.
  7. Little surprised they gave a rookie head coach 5 games to prove himself. Firing Hawkins is an admission that his hiring was a colossal mistake.
  8. This is something I can get behind. Now let's tailor this offense to Goltz .. Use his athleticism .. Allow the kid to be successful
  9. CFL.ca Staff MONTREAL -- The Montreal Alouettes announced on Thursday that they have relieved Head Coach Dan Hawkins of his duties. Owner Bob Wetenhall has asked General Manager Jim Popp to assume the head-coaching role in addition to his other responsibilities. "Jim is the person most responsible for the success we have had over all these years," explained Wetenhall. "I feel confident that he is the best person to coach our team at this time and I am very appreciative of him being willing to make this additional contribution to our franchise. He has the respect of our players as well as mine." More to come...
  10. You invest in the offensive line .. make it a priority .. you set a quarterback up for success .. doesn't matter who we line up behind center .. they WILL struggle and fail to reach their potential behind the line we have right now.
  11. Both Mitchell and Wiley are operating behind two of the best offensive lines in the CFL .. they also have the luxury of having a top running back on their team .. makes a world of a difference when you can keep a young quarterback upright and take pressure off him with a dominating run game.
  12. Overwhelming pressure has a way of hiding flaws in the Secondary. If you look at the first two games against Montreal as an example, the defense was lights out .. but that starts and ends with the defensive line (and linebackers) ability to get to the quarterback. The last two games .. we failed to generate any meaningful push .. Ray and Mitchell had all the time in the world to make their throws and they exposed what is a very soft secondary.
  13. He's a lineman .. Only shape he needs is round! (I kid I kid)
  14. We do tend to give people a lot of rope .. post .. enjoy ..contribute to the conversation .. Welcome to the site!
  15. Johnson (hamstring) and Washington were both injured last game.
  16. It was painful to watch actually .. most first downs Cornish ended up with the ball .. the inability for the defense to stop the run absolutely killed the defense .. makes it so easy for a young QB to be successful
  17. Guys ... there is good discussion going on here .. please don't let it devolve to bickering and name calling.
  18. And the problem with that is that January has only ever been a journeyman at best .. he's no shut down tackle by any stretch of the imagination.
  19. Does anyone think a guy like Chapdelaine would leave BC?
