As I mentioned in the other thread, this is pretty much exactly how I feel. I don't give two shits about all the weird stats, and the whole sports betting thing is Greek to me. I don't understand the language and don't care about it at all.

Having said that, I understand it's a new generation and I'm a very old man....so it is what it is. I'm willing to give him a shot, tho I'm not as excited for the first pre-game show of the year as I would be in years past. The current generation of broadcasters don't do things in the same way guys of Bob's vintage did it....that's just a fact of life that I've got to adjust to, I suppose!

All respect to you. When I'm your age I'll 100% feel the same way about how they do it then. Being almost forty now, though I'm crushed Bob is retiring, I do enjoy DT's take on things. In his interview with Ed Tait he said he gets that not everyone's a numbers person so he'll try to make things interesting and accessible. He did an interview with Hustler today too that was great. He said he spent 2 hours reviewing how Mike O'Shea manages coin flips, which he will no doubt share with Osh and will continue to offer helpful findings to the club. He mentioned a couple of interesting tidbits that I found enriched my appreciation of the team: 1) Greg Ellingson draws the most PI's of any receiver in the CFL and, 2) Collaros is the least sacked QB under pressure. Just my two cents.

Top priority should be an official apology from DT for his comments about the bombers winning back to back cups making him want to vomit.

    He said that?

  5. Hi All,

This episode features an interview with Bombers DB and West Final hero Nick Taylor! So excited he agreed to be on the pod. You'll really enjoy him.

Our first ever player guest talks about his journey from college basketball, to NFL, to becoming a key member of the Back2Back Champ's #Darkside Defence. Listen as he gets you inside the locker room to share FIFO really means and how the way of O'Shea completely changed how he prepared for games, and how the 2019 defence came together so quickly. Nick also shares his favourite 90's music, preferred travel destinations, and more!

Lawler saying 'HE accomplished these two Grey Cups' on third down....that's why he deserved the big dough.....Not a mention of the team that gave him that opportunity.....Never figured him for a 'me' first guy....guess I was wrong....I'll say right now I doubt very much he'll come close to the stats. he had here in 21'...I think Kenny is going to come down to earth ....hard

All respect I think you’re missing the forest for the trees here. I highly doubt he means HE accomplished it all by himself. I think what he’s saying is that with the Grey Cups he’s deserving of a big contract. Like anyone would.

Yep , now you have a new listener. The show was interesting,( all things Bombers are interesting to me), right to the point and not to long so I lost interest. You pick great subject matter too. I may not be everyone , but I appreciate your efforts and if you decide to continue the same format and style will continue to be a listener. Two thumbs up from me!

Thx coach. Really appreciate the feedback and you tuning in.

No joke, when the Bombers intercepted the pass in OT,I jumped up to the right of my couch to cheer, felt a pop and found out through MRI that I tore my inner medial meniscus. I'm off work for the foreseeable future but it was all worth it. $900 brace,$460 Durolane knee injection,Bombers winning back to back cups...... One torn knee ...I mean priceless.

Ouch!!! That’ll be me in a few years, with my ailing knee. Totally worth it. Feel better!

There’s the hardcover book from the club aaaand Paul Friesen’s “Against All Odds” paperback.  Bought both and both are fantastic.  Eagerly awaiting the 2021 editions!

Have both too. Paul Friesen, who did Against All Odds, said he only did it bc he had time in the pandemic. No plans to do a follow-up. I do expect another Grey Cup book from the store though.

Re the lack of Grey Cup video, I asked Carol at the store about his in 2019. Apparently it isn’t cost effective bc they’d have to pay TSN for the right to use the video. I’m still not entirely sure why they can’t just work something out though. They could even only make it available for download and ppl would buy it.

This is my perspective as a potential listener/customer as I am very passionate about anything Bombers or CFL. You might have a great podcast, but you 1) Have to give listeners a reason to tune to you (You have done this by advertising good subject matter here.). 2) You must be able to keep them intrigued and wanting more during the opening portion - this is the time when a boring opening or song makes it easiest for the listener to start channel surfing. 3) If you catch someone channel surfing you need to immediately capture their attention with something interesting. By having 5 or more minutes of preamble about your life and family (something for sure you should be proud of and celebrate) just bores the crap out of someone like me who does not know you. I didn't know anything about Bob Irving's family until this year because when he talks football , he talks football and that's what it's about. If you were just doing this podcast for people who know you or your family then you are doing it right. If you are looking to capture a wider audience I would suggest 1) Stay to the subject matter 2) Start off with shorter more intense podcasts and make your listener want more so they will come back. Like I say this is just my opinion as a potential listener in your target audience. Good luck and I am always willing to read or listen to any good Bomber or CFL topics.

Hey Coach17, thank so much for your detailed, honest feedback. That's exactly what helps me polish the product for, as you say, a wider audience. I think I've maybe received too much feedback from family & friends! I know many ppl I've heard from like my personal ramblings (admittedly, many fam and friends) so I think I'll put that at the end if I think it needs to be there, but I'll think carefully about it. I love your comment about making them shorter, more intense episodes and going right to the advertised subject matter. Still, I'm SHOCKED you're not interested in my personal life LOLOLOL. Thanks so much and keep it coming! Zach
