Not one to use excuses..or ya buts..but...realistically if we started the season with Nichols healthy I have no problems saying this team would be 6-1 at worst..possibly even 7-0...
We are a better team than our 4-3 record indicates and believe me...teams know it

You forgot to mention the lack of production from Bowman when he is targeted due to him dropping the ball..... Wolitarsky may not get many targets but at least when he does he catches the ball. And that my friend is the bottom line on why Bowman was moved for a bag of used footballs.

Bowman was done here the second he gave up on a pass in the endzone against BC. When he came out and dropped the first pass he saw against Toronto with no one around him and the ball right in his hands that just cemented it. Guy was always massively overrated and now appears he really has lost a step so why keep wasting time with him when we got guys who showed potential waiting for a chance to get in?

He hinted toward starting Lankford on the coaches show last night. He mentioned others but said a little more about Lankford and also mentioned that he has return capabilities as well. Although he did mention it would be a tryout this week in practice. He also said that starting another Canadian receiver is not being considered so that leaves, Lankford, Washington or Thompins in the open tryouts this week in my opinion.

Firekid got a reaction from wbbfan in Nichols v strevler and the hole in our offense.
wbbfan was pointing out that a two tailback set will help the Nichols lead offence when the opposing D smothers Harris. He mentioned that with the running threat of Streveler this helped keep the opposing D on their feet and took some pressure off Harris when Streveler was leading the offense. I don't think he was pointing out that Nichols is a bad pivot, I think his point was to high-lite the fact that the Bombers offence is more effective with a two back set when Nichols is leading it.

I think it probably had more to do with showing Bowman respect.   Instead of releasing him they sniffed around to see if anybody would give up a ceremonial draft pick for him.  There's nobody you're gonna draft in the 8th round that you could just sign as an undrafted free-agent.

the fact they got anything for an old, under performing high priced american is a positive. 8th rounder isn't great but it's better than nothing. They now have an addtional draft pick to use in a trade if need be.

After that horrible route/give up by Bowman at Home and the drop in TO to start the game, I was really hoping they'd bench him in favour of Washington or Thompkins. But thought it would be unlikely because of his $$$. So I'm very happy with this move. The fact they got something is just a bonus to me.

Better than outright releasing him. This is a win without a doubt. We don’t have to pay him and we don’t have to play him.

Watching this garbage sask team smacking hamilton in the mouth is so disheartening. This same hamilton team beat the **** out of us. I am so ****ing tired of the bombers underachieving year after year after year. On paper the bombers should be a contender but west basement it is. I just cant shake that brutal loss last week. The way we lost it too. One foot here, dumb playcall there, brutal pass here, missed tackle there. Just so ****ing typical. That kind of loss can break a teams back. Its certainly broken my spirit. So sick of this Jekyll and Hyde bullshit. I swear its like were cursed.

I believe Richie Hall will retire for medical reasons this off season and Jordan Younger will get a promotion to the DC. When I see Richie walking on the field before the games he is getting to the point where he can hardly walk out there. Or at least it looks like he is some kind of pain. Call me crazy but this is what I think is going to happen.

Hamilton's offence sure picked on the rookie #36 Sayles and was very, very successful in beating him up. That was a real weak point in the defense last week. Yes he had an interception early on but man was he getting targeted a lot out there. Seems the throws mostly went to the side where he and Leggit were. Makes sense though. Why wouldn't Masoli go for the weakest link.

Good for him. You know, given the same sample size we've seen with newcomers like Gaitor, Sayles etc, I'd have kept Walker.

What you have quoted above your post is almost line for line what Harris said in the podcast with Jeff Hamilton. I think The Sun got it from there maybe? Anyway if it was he was be very open and candid in that podcast.

Firekid got a reaction from blitzmore in D for Disaster (not D Fence)
The difference in the D from last year to this year was easy to see.I feel there is a lot of improvement. Not one time was there a wide open Edm receiver that caught a ball for an easy TD. Yes they gave up 400yrds passing but one was a 100yrd strike where Randle missed the knock down, another was a PI call on Gaitor and another was a pass to Stafford (I believe) who had a step on our DB (one of Fogg or Alexander) and beat the DB with a jumping catch. That was probably 200 of the 400 yrds right there. All were situations where the DB and receiver were in a 1 on 1 battle and lost. I'm not saying they played bad, I am saying there were in the right place but simply missed knocking the ball down or lightly touched the receiver and took the PI.  Yes it was a loss but there is a lot of good to build from in that game. Confidence will grow, and everyone will tighten up their game a bit and one of any of those plays mentioned could have got the Blue the W. My 2 cents.

I hope June Jones was watching the game.
He’ll have seen vintage Reilly in that game, and that kind of performance is pretty well standard for him. The kind of performance I doubt we’ll see consistently from his “best we’ll ever see” QB.
That game last night was a highly entertaining football game. It would have been even better without the delays.
Many on here are pointing fingers, but only a few are pointing them at the reason Edmonton won that game - Mke Reilly. How he escaped that relentless pressure, more than a few times is ‘palm to the head’ d’oh worthy. And he made plays. Also, his receivers made some outstanding catches for him.
It was not an easy game to watch the team lose, but really, going in, how many expected us to gunsling with one of the best.
We still lost, but we gained ever so much in that game.

Yeah when have we may have landed a good one in Strev's
Agreed too..there were not any real instances of receievers just roaming free and wide open, and the bigger plays we got beat on were just good plays..and if it were to play again we make the play...I don't think this showing is anything to be panicked about..but if Montreal and Hamilton eat us up on defense..then we have issues...too much talent here to not be successful.
I think too...you add Leggett to the mix...we just became even better and have another vet who knows the inside and out stuff of a CFL defensive backfired and what and when to do things.
I will say tho that the coaches need to get off the Lankford love train. What he offers on returns we can get elsewhere on roster...or PR and have a player who could contribute moe than just returns...and that brutal fumble too...he hangs on we most likey get points...keep Reilly off the field from scoring and win that game warts and all
One thing I'd like to mention...That Bighill stuff at the goal line onn  Reilly where he went over the top...can you ever see Hurl doing that???...hahaa

Agree 100%. Reilly is gonna Reilly. Any other QB out there is taking a few more sacks.

At least guys weren't running free against our secondary, the DBs just need to make some plays. Edmonton receivers were making some tough catches over our guys.
Steveler showed he can keep us in games and give us a chance until Nichols is back. When was the last time we had a back up QB (not counting Nichols taking over for Willy) throw 3 TDs?
