I'm glad that I was "raised" in the message board world by guys like Llamicus Lee and Furbelly Darren, two of the harshest Bombers board posters ever. If you said something stupid they'd absolutely rip you apart with no mercy. You learn to have tough skin and walk away if things get too intense. At the end of the day, it's the internet...when you start taking internet arguing seriously, it's probably time to get off.

That easy toss to McDuffie for 6 was painful. I thought that was going to cost us later in the game for sure. Willy would have been crucified by us if he missed that throw. In fact, one of the main factors in the fan revolt on Willy has been his inaccuracy and missing open receivers (The MTL and HAM games come to mind).
We can ***** and moan all we want about the missed opportunities to pad the score but honestly, how many of us actually thought we would be dissecting a Bomber WIN in Edmonton this morning? How refreshing is it to utter those words.
All of the external issues were screaming a blowout loss and they got their collective **** together and not only squeaked out a win but were the better team for the full 60. I'll worry about missed opportunities etc. when they are relative to the specific game but every team misses during the game and it's how you respond to adversity what matters. When the Esks got the score to within 10, we marched right back down the field and got the 7 back. How many times have we seen the Bombers 2 and out and give all momentum back? Too many times to count.
Let's enjoy this one and reflect on the fact that a win on Wednesday puts us right back in the conversation in the West.

Plus the fact that the money isn't guaranteed means they only are on the hook for this year (no way we cut him in season, let alone before league vet deadline). MOS has to push all the chips he has left to the table to get us to the playoffs.
If Willy's feelings are hurt in the process so be it. No way he can accuse MOS of being disloyal at this point.

nichols was missing many of the same throws as willy this year. Peak willy (giggity) wasnt really ball control. It was good start, good start to the half then last second drive.

Meh. It's a fan forum, it's expected that people will have a difference of opinion. I mean, isn't that what all this really is when you get right down to it? Opinions, I don't think anyone is really an expert and is always right and i don't think anyone is a total idiot who is always wrong, I think there are some people here who might maybe understand the Let's call them X's and O's a bit more than others do and understand that while perhaps the easy thing to do is blame 1 guy or 2 guys, know that Football or any sport for that matter really doesn't work like that... It's a team sport, 3 phases, I've seen games where 2 of the 3 phases play like crap but the 1 plays great and you win, I've seen games where 2 of the 3 play great but you lose, I've seen games where all 3 have been good and you lose. It's never just one thing.
I guess, the best thing to remember is this is a fan forum and with that, comes differing opinions, I really don't see this "click" thing, or i don't see certain posters coming in thinking they know it all, maybe 1 or 2, but..I don't think it's the ones that perhaps get called out on it. I don't think it's the Mikes or Mr Perfects or those guys really, i think they just came on, give their opinion and then debate with the person who doesn't disagree, i do find tho that the person who seems to disagree with them the most is the same guy but that's just... whatever. It doesn't matter.

Ill add my two cents.  This is the best discussion forum, not only for the Bombers but for the Jets as well.  There was another Jets forum that had a lot of activity in the wake of Jetsowner selling out to the Freep and I saw them recently begging for more posters on twitter.  So I assume its slowed down over there.  Lots of really insightful people here.  Plus the "off topic" forum is great too.
As someone with a strong opinion, the last thing I;d want is a forum where everyone thinks the exact same thing.  Thats where other forums have trouble because the mods or main posters get angry when people don't share their opinion.  The idea should be a free exchange of ideas.
Now, I don't post in the Bombers forums as much because while I love the CFL, I am not very knowledgeable so I like to read the opinions of the people more knowledgeable.   I understand when people say they make a post and it gets picked apart and maybe some people could "educate" better than just tell you your wrong.  But its a forum where there will be wildly different levels of knowledge and perspectives.
Is Mike sometimes abrasive?  Sure.  Is he still among the most knowledge and insightful posters?  Absolutely.  I'd rather read Mike provide his insight and opinion then not.  And that goes for several others too.  As someone without technical knowledge of football, I've learned from reading here.  Cant ask for much more.
This is a great board.  A really great board.

Yeah those screen passes are useless when there isn't a run game to respect. It was also nice to see Nichols throw the ball past the LOS the majority of the time. I think I saw a stat yesterday that had Willy at 13 more passes at or behind the LOS than any other QB so far this year. I know some of it is designed but Willy has a tendency to give his first read 2 seconds and then check it down.

It was nice to see Bond step in and play well. I'm hardly an authority on o-line play but he looked pretty good to me when I payed attention to him. Hardrick always seems so pumped for his teammates too after plays, good energy.
Credit where it's due, Shayon Green put the tackle on skates and backed him into Reilly to impede his follow through on the Frederick INT.
Nice to see Westerman absolutely plaster Reilly to the turf in the 4th quarter. More please.
Frederick can ball. Made some nice tackles, the one on the bubble screen pops out in my mind and obviously had a nice break on the ball for the INT. Loffler and Fogg had nice games as well.
Was Adarius wearing his old Bomber jersey under his Eskimos one? He was bobbling passes all night, easy ones too.
Nichols had a nice game, a few hiccups and one wonders how the game could have turned if the EDM CB doesn't drop the INT on that 2nd and long duck that Nichols threw up to Adams but all in all better play at the QB position than we have received thus far.
I must have Bomber PTSD because I can't shake the "How are we gonna blow this one" feeling, even in the dying minutes of the 4th quarter last night. A few more complete efforts like this one and we may escape the wilderness and go into September with a real shot at the playoffs.

The one thing I will say is that I don't think Willy would have played as well as Nichols last night, based on his current body of work this year. Nichols made throws Willy has failed to make all year.
However, if Willy gets the run support that Nichols had last night, the throws Willy CAN make that Nichols made last night probably have the kind of results Nichols had.
I guess what I'm saying is Nichols hit deep shots that Willy simply hasn't hit this year, but Nichols also got better results from things like those Dressler screen passes because our run game was clicking.

What we had there...was a football game. Plain and simple.
Congratulations to the Coaching staff. We were the ones that kept the other team off balance. We were the one who befuddled Reilly so much. Hardly ever see Reilly with his head down so much swearing under his breath.
Absolutely loved the fact we went down the field early, got stopped, but gambled on 3rd down and scored. That meant so much to this team.
Nichols played himself into another game with that performance. He executed a pretty good game plan from LaPolice, saw the field well, and did enough Quarterbacking to get point on the board. TDs and FGs. That means he drove the offence enough times to at least get to the red zone. He may not have been the be-all end-all last night...but HE got us the win.
the FGs? - 5 all executed. Medlock got 18 points. We directly lost a game against Edmonton last year because our kicker then was 1 -5
Richie Hall's defensive plan was right for Edmonton, and only Walker seemed the only on who mattered for Edmonton.
That brings us to the make-shift secondary. Wow. All those changes and we had a semblance of guys who knew what they were doing. Real nice find in our new starter Terrence Frederick. Nice coverage and he was responsible for the "play of the game" with that brilliant interception.
I bet there was a lotta hooping and hollering on that one.
The O-Line played like an OLine and led by Bond (another new starter) made Harris a very happy runner last night. That run game served its purpose and kept the Eskimos off balance. We probably should have changed things up and swung Harris out of the backfield in the second half to throw them off even more.
    Each team had 3 sacks.
A lot of the credit for the win should go to our Coaching staff....for a change.
I actually think some people will be pissed that the the Bombers won last night. I mean other than rider fans. I mean some sports writers.
Geez, I didn't get upset with any Bomber players last night.

    26-43 Matt Nichols. 304 yds 1td.
Apparently there are some dogs that must be kept at bay because O'Sheas bombers won.
Nichols pulls the trigger - Willy kept the safety on?
The player whose name we won't have to try and remember -Terrence Frederick.
Dressler was a power plug all over the field. Missed him severely after he was injured.
A lot of excited happy players during the game..
And that's what happens when I don't pick the Bombers to win eh?

Same poll and idea as last time. I'll state again this poll is simply about MOS's job in the near term. This isn't supposed to be a 10 page debate on firing MOS in the off season, or, if we should fire him. This is just me gauging where the fan base is at and if people think he will be fired if get blown out against Hamilton. Not a win like Edmonton yesterday, but a real good rodgering that we often get at Investors Group Field.
Please be respectful in the thread, this isn't meant to be a divisive post to cause arguments. If you can't keep your comments and replies respectful then maybe considering Pm'ing me your anger instead lol. Negativity train can't be stumped!

Am I looking at something different... b/c I see Roberts starting at CB...
And what's the deal with Shayon Green... as in, why is he still even on the team?... his best skill is pass rushing and that's lead to a grand total of zero sacks so far... took one of the most bone-headed penalties on ST I'v seen in a long time that wiped out a TD... he is no use as a 3-4 DE and can't do anything inside... Why is he in the lineup over Hubbard?? If we have a pure pass rush situation we can use Cole or Corney for that...

Woo! Training camp 2.0 starts now!
In all seriousness though, Roberts out is an immediate upgrade and I agree on Loffler. If he stays healthy he could be a difference maker. BJ in is a wash with Randle out, but glad to have him back nonetheless. Hopefully his early season stumbles are behind him (maybe injuries had something to do with it?)
I like Mayo but he wasn't really a factor when he was in so I'm OK with Sheppard coming in. Someone needs to put an ABP out for Jace Davis too, his last few games I haven't noticed him much.
I would expect Nichols to force feed Dressler tomorrow, based solely on the mop up time last week.

So much this. I get the rage from the fanbase every year that goes by and adds to the drought but unless we bring back a retread from the past that failed already, the new regime doesn't own those failures.
Sure, it's up to them to try to end the drought but I think it's unfair to pin past mistakes on them too.
That having been said, how come no one has asked MOS why we cut Kevin Glenn for Stefan Lefors? I demand answers!
