Interesting. Everywhere else it was a headline.

Y'know, if I didn't know better, i might suggest Nye isn't entirely objective.
You mean Rod Pedersen Jr?

I'd be surprised to see Carmichael starting on friday. The coaches are well aware of how bad he got lit up again and again on sat. The question will be, do they give him a chance to redeem? or is Johnson back
MOS said today that Carmichael will start again and will be given plenty of opportunities to improve seeing as he was so impressive during training camp and practice. We'll see. Some people just dont have it when the bullets are flying for real.
Still not sure whats up with Johnson. Haven't heard a peep over the last week and his twitter has been silent for some time now....

complete foolishness. Their QB is Kevin Glenn. The same Kevin Glenn they had in 2015 when they also had like 6 or 7 close games with no wins to show for it. Sure the losses aren't all on him, but hes now 1-10 as their starting QB (though im not sure if he ever got any starts his first time around nearly 20 years ago). It's the old adage, everything old is new again

Jamie Nye, Matthew Cauz, Marshall Ferguson, Don Landry, Jim Morris and Chris O Leary are the six so called experts who picked the Riders to win. CFL. CFL.CA needs some better people working for them.
Not surprised about Nye, or as i like to call him, Rod Pedersen Jr. The guy is a Rider homer. I dont think ive ever seen him pick against the Riders. The other guys have no excuses, theyre just dumbasse*s.

Lapo and his questionable play calling was at it again. It seemed like it was either a long, slow developing pass play or nothing. No rhythm at all. Then you watch Glenn and its 8-12 yard quick hitters eating up yards, getting in a rhythm, and churning out 1st downs. Then late in the game when you need to milk the clock you call a slow developing pass play and take a 9 yard sack?? Brutal. So friggin' lucky we won that game. Could have just as easily lost.

A win is win but they can not be happy with the way they played. Should have buried they clowns in the 4th quarter. Roc Carmichael needs to get his head out of his *ss or be replaced asap and the D as a whole should feel ashamed.

Thats a shame

Nope, I see their roster as having many holes like in previous seasons, especially at crucial places like receiver, LB, Canadian OLine depth, marginal starting QB, secondary, etc. It'll be interesting to see if Okapoluga performs how most former CFL players play after returning from the NFL.
Saturday will be fun Mike, enjoy that atmosphere and look around and admire how things are supposed to be built. No hard hat required.
Is this post a joke? Where to begin?
As far as receivers go we have Denmark who played in only 10 games but managed 705 yards and 8 TD's(full season that works out to just under 1300 yards and 14 TD's. Next up Dressler who managed to break 1000 yards despite missing 3 games and then lets not forget Adams who was pace for nearly 1600 yards before he was hurt. Now you can add 6'4" Washington to that list who has been in beast mode since he's gotten here.
Our o-line is as solid as they come and i'd put them up against any other unit in this league. With early Canadian picks Couture and Spooner plus serviceable Neufeld if need be.
And our secondary?!?! Lol, its so deep they cut a solid starter from last year(Frederick) and have guys like NFL vet Roc Carmichael and Kevin friggin' Fogg waiting in the wings.
Seriously clown, stop spewing utter b******* and go back to your hole. Is there anything more insufferable then ignorant jag*ff Rider fans?? I think not. Please let us crush their green kool-aid drenched souls on Saturday.

CFL.ca writers picks this weekend
WPG @ SSK
The Bombers were 10-3 in games Matt Nichols started last season and now, heading into a clean slate, the second-year Bomber will look to back it up and prove he’s an elite quarterback.
A trip to Regina to open the new Mosaic Stadium will be a test for the Blue and Gold, who open their season in a hornets nest. With the Riders coming off a game they feel they should have won, look for a very inspired effort from Chris Jones’ club on Canada Day.
Pick
Writers: 86% Saskatchewan
Fans: 51% Winnipeg???
6 of 7 CFL writers on cfl.ca have picked the Riders to win?!?! Based on what? Nonsense? I feel like im taking crazy pills.

The fact is Mason is younger and has been quoted as saying every team needs a true #1 and he isnt interested in splitting time. Bernier is hot and cold, again is younger, and is probably looking for a starting roll. Elliott fits the bill perfectly. He's 32, put up good numbers historically, has won in the playoffs, and is perfectly suited to mentor Hellebuyck. I have no problem with him playing 40+ games platooning with Hellebuyck, with Maurice playing the hot hand. Doesnt hurt his wife is a rocket too. Welcome to Winnipeg Mr and Mrs Elliott!

Im actually quite surprised how well the Riders o-line held up. Alouettes got ZERO pressure all night.

And the talking heads never seem to mention the fact that Nichols didnt start until week 6 and we were 1-4 with limp willy in control. We could have won 13 or 14 games last season had Nichols been the starter week 1. Sure the turnovers will go down but add significant more QB pressure from our re-vamped d-line PLUS a confident undisputed leader in Nichols, with a completely intact o-line and nearly intact offense around him, and i dont see how we dont win at least 11 again, if not more.
On a side note, Rod Pederson Jr, errrr, Jamie Nye has a great Nostradamus like piece on CFL.CA with his predictions for the upcoming season. Here's his Bomber prediction "With a drop in defensive output will also become a drop in victories as the Bombers fall back to .500 or below in 2017". Well written too! Take your watermelon off Nye, its clearly squeezing your brain.

Must be passing around green koolaid at the TSN studios tonight. On the TSN preview show Dunigan figures the Riders are gonna win 10 games. Schultz then proceeds to mention how their o-line is bigger and stronger and cool calm Kevin Glenn is gonna have a huge season with their "best in the league" receiving corps with the magician Chris Jones mixing it up and keeping teams guessing. What are these guys smoking??!?
They spent about 30 seconds talking about the Bombers and it was the usual "cant duplicate the turnovers from last year" and "all depends on Matt Nichols".

'Explosive' former NFL D-lineman turning heads at training camp (Cory Johnson) winnipegfreepress.com/sports/footbal… #CFL #Bombers
“He’s explosive,” said Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea. “You can tell, not only out on the field but in meetings, he loves the game, he loves to play football. He’s picked it up very quickly.
“He seems to be very disruptive, he gets in the backfield very quickly. He’s got a combination of power and speed, too. He’s shown quite well.

Three of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ most important veterans are giving two thumbs-up to the club’s radically revised training camp schedule.
Monday, the Ticats completed the third cycle of two days of “normal” training camp practice followed by a “recovery” day that consists of a morning circuit of wind-sprints, weight training, yoga and football-specific “corrective movement.” They also have team meetings and an hour ‘walk-through’ practice on recovery days.
Ken Wiebe - Winnipeg Sun -It sounds like Austin Apodaca will be handling the holding duties on Saturday.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have added two veteran players to the retired list. American defensive back Demond Washington and Canadian defensive end Justin Capicciotti are dealing with injury issues suffered prior to training camp, but it's possible both could show up at some point before the start of the season. By placing the pair on the retired list, the Ticats can use the roster spots, which are limited to 75 players (plus non-counters) during training camp until they return.
There is, however, a limit in the number of transactions each team can perform during training camp, a rule that was added in 2012
Thomas Miles - There's a good competition there. I'm getting some solid reps there and enjoying the competition. All of the guys have looked really good out here,” said Miles, who is 6-foot-1 and 232 pounds. “And it doesn't matter (who is the starter). What we're trying to do is build a championship team and what that means is that whoever is the best is going to play and I'm totally cool with that.
