I totally agree with that assessment. Some figure that in a league of nine teams, you can tear down and re-build more quickly, and will take that flash in the pan approach. But I am enjoying the sustained success of the Walters approach much more for sure (it helps to stomach that mindset when the long drought is over and we have more patience as fans).

I suggest that your view is based on decades-old data, where pot was 3-4% potency but now the stuff is 19-25% potency and has caused a lot of trouble for many people. You say that the matter is between the person and employer- would you be comfortable boarding an plane where the pilot was stoned? Whether or not it is more problematic than alcohol or opioids is irrelevant- THC has to stand on its own merits or liabilities. 
There is a vast difference between casual, recreational use and problematic use. What causes a problem is a problem.

First off let me say that Danielle Adams was a good personal friend of mine. She worked for me in her younger years, and we worked together on many charitable projects in the City of Thompson. It is with a heavy heart I respond to this.
I just want to say that a lot of EMS response just isn't possible in a timely fashion in much of the North. Geographic distance between destinations just doesn't allow it. Where her accident occurred she was 2 hours away in any direction from the lifesaving equipment she needed which is the Jaws of Life. There is nowhere to even station one if the province wanted to. It is a lonely stretch of highway without even so much as a gas station for 400 kms. 
Having had a business and now a 2nd home in the North, I make the trip from Thompson to Winnipeg or vice versa 20 times a winter. In those years I have learned the lesson that one must be exceptionally aware of the weather forecast and highway conditions when planning your trip and have the flexibility to postpone travel until plows and/or weather improves or at the very least be willing to travel well below the speed limit in the trail position for hours on end. I have had near misses trying to pass semis kicking up white out passing conditions and now I just don't travel in the road/weather conditions like there were that day. I feel deeply for her and her family and wish she would have delayed her trip by a day instead of heading out into a blizzard like I am hearing she discussed with her husband. Thompson lost a good person that day. I wish her family all the best and sincerely hope that any members here planning a trip up North will heed my advice to do your homework on weather and road conditions before you come North, and if travelling here is unavoidable in bad weather be patient and arrive safely.
Please do not think I am placing any of the blame on Adams for her tragedy. I am not. I am just trying to pass on lessons I have learnt over 30 years of travel down that road. Once you hit North of Grand Rapids the tree line to the road is narrow and snow is not swept off the road by the wind. It makes snow accumulation a big problem on the highway and it is very long stretch of highway to keep clear even if the plows were going 24 hours a day.

The NFL OT format sucks. A team that scores a TD on the 1st possession automatically wins. The other team doesn't even get a chance. So Roger Goodell like.

Move them back to the 45 or 50 to be on the extreme edge of a makeable field goal if the team can’t move the ball, and any losses via a sack or other great defensive play are now magnified. And keep the two point requirement on the convert as well. But give each team one possession. The Falcons-Patriots OT in the Super Bowl where the Falcon offence never even got a sniff because they lost a coin toss was the worst possible way to end a game

in the NFL since 1994: the team that lost the coin flip in OT hasn't even had a chance to touch the ball 25% of the time. 

Sudden death OT in football is garbage. 

And then the toss is more important than anything else? No sudden death in the cfl is not the answer. The mini games are fine, but i would move the starting point back so a team actually has to make some plays to be in scoring range.

IMO, that ovetime format is Horse **** , play sudden death. Period.

The way I see it? If u can sit in a car for 6 to 8 hours u are ok. Go home. Stay home. If you can't then go get tested

I could see us losing Goveia at some point, but I get the impression that McManus is with us until he's let go or retires.  His scouting job allows him to keep living in the US (Florida, I think), and he's probably pretty comfortable there.  Goveia seems to have some aspirations to be a GM some day and the right fit will come along for him eventually.
