Yeah I'm not sure either. They will likely take one of Artopeous and Wilson and one of Thorne and Perkins. I can't imagine they will start the year with Collaros and no CFL experience behind him. My guess it will be TD Terry running short yardage and Perkins waiting in the wings.- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
For backup qb MBT. For receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr.- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
@wbbfan , who do you like for pass rushers and WRs?- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
So for the final phase of free agency, ideally we get a vet qb, imp wr, and pass rusher or two. The qb group is ugly, pass rusher group has some upside but lots of question marks, wr group has some solid gambles for depth too.- Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics thread
And Canada fails to make the Podium on Day 2 of the competition- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Did Edmonton announce it or did the league? Nothing on the L's website about it so maybe the league put it out there for clarity since rights transfers are rare. Edit - just saw Hervey's statement. Said it was an attempt to do right by the player and other clubs and let them get going on things without needlessly holding up the process. The website is not completely up to date. They signed a 6'6 DL named Michael Fletcher the other day but he's not listed so there's definitely people missing. He was signed before Ceresna was made official yet he's on there so it's a bit random.- 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
This maybe should be in the Grim Reaper thread but since it's CFL related, I thought I'd post it here. Former CFL player Barry Wilburn died yesterday in Memphis in a house fire. Wilburn was 62 years of age. Wilburn played for 3 CFL teams during his time in canada. The Saskatchewan Roughriders, BC Lions & Winnipeg Blue Bombers (in 1999). He also played for Washington & the Philadelphia Eagles. What a horrible way to go. Condolences to his family, friends & former teammtes.- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
The players contracts are up so I don't think any bonuses would be forthcoming from any expired contracts.- 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
Yeah, Walters was really killing it early & then suddenly it was over. I was hoping for one or two more signings on the DL & that may happen yet. there still are some receivers out there like Gittens we sure could use. Surprised there haven't been any more announcements. maybe the second round of secondary signings will happen after the 9th when the negotiation window closes. I guess some free agents also know they'll sign somewhere & are weighing offers.- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
according to the Bombers site... the only DL at 6'7 is Willie... unless there are some guys not listed yet... are you reinventing the wheel... or just making the three LB positions the way they were 15 years ago? I hate to be a stickler... but this is clearly a top 7 😉 I'll go: Stan, Biggie, Collaros, Harris, Yoshi... had to make a few tough decisions to follow the rules (Jeffcoat and Willie, for example)...- Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics thread
Sucks about Vonn......- 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
I know you mentioned Ottawa but didn't really get into details... they had a really nice FA period adding Allen, Reavis, Eberhardt... but their biggest addition was getting Dinwiddie- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Didn't he already sign in Hamilton right after his Toronto release- 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
One qb still out there , with a lot of CFL background is MBT........He can throw fairly accurately but the rest of his game has big question marks....I think we'd have to be in desperate mode to bring him in....soooo hope we find something in tc that'll work- 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
Our Man Tait's latest 1st and 10 column gave the impression that the Bombers are unlikely to approach any of the veteran back ups that are out there. Likely to let all of the recent signings duke it out in camp and see who emerges. The only issue I see with that is, there are only so many reps, so how can you really tell who's standing out?- 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
I think we definitely won the early going in FA.....The one spot that has great implications going forward is at qb......Maybe one of the recent pivot signings, surprises the hell out of us in tc ...Other than that, Elgersma might show up and prove he's the second coming of Rourke or better...A lot of question marks for sure ....however our early signings certainly must have caught the eye few potential qbs. who see us as definite contenders....Will we see a resurgence comparable to the New England Pats????...contender to pretender and back to relevance....Time will tell but so far I like what I'm seeing- Game 56 : Voyageurs de la Poutine
This might have been the most Habs fan heavy crowd since the 80s. Back then CBC French would show the Habs at 7 on.a Saturday night instead of the Jets(who rarely played Sat. for some reason) so I can kinda understand why that was plus before the xpansion in 67 you either were a TOR or MTL fan in this city. 45+ years later, most of the original 6 fans are dead or in a home so I wonder why we’re there so many fans at the game. I have a theory. It’s cheaper to fly to WPG, rent a room and get game tickets then it is to buy tickets in TOR or MTL 😆- Major Site Upgrade
I just assumed everyone knew about that. It's the only way to go... Thankful for it!- Game 56 : Voyageurs de la Poutine
I remember attending a Jets 1.0 home game against the Habs and I was running late and as I entered the arena outside of ice site, the crowd erupted so i thought alright Jets scored but nope as i entered my entrance to my seats 1-0 Habs.- Game 56 : Voyageurs de la Poutine
Mine was a huge Maple Leafs fan. He had buddies that he'd phone with after checking scores in the paper - similar to this forum, actually. It would've been in the 30s, 40s & 50s.- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
What bonus? He wouldn't have any bonus until he signed a new contract. That doesn't happen until he is either released or he reaches FA. Team never put in an after the season roster bonus in the final year of a contract. The only time we see the roster bonuses are on the first years of a multi-year deal and most are timed for about the middle of January. It would be epically stupid if 3-4 days before FA, Ceresna had a bonus due on an expiring contract. If that were the case no team would have offered him anything until that bonus was paid. But like I said, there is almost zero chance that Ceresna had not cashed in on every dollar of his expiring contract prior to the window.- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Does transferring his rights transfer his bonus?- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
The neg window is set up that if a team and a player come to an agreement they register that agreement with the league, the team is obligated to follow through at that point if the player does not re-sign with his current team who has a 48 hour exclusive window to try re-sign the player if they so choose. The GMs MUST honor any deal negotiated in the window and filed with the league. As I understand it, and I may not be interpeting it correctly, The player is not obligated to sign any deal and can go to FA if they so desire. They must however inform the league that they no longer intend to sign the deal negotiated and they cannot talk to any other teams until the opening of FA.- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Maybe but sounded like Kyle didn’t wanna go any higher. But I’m never going back the past is in the past. - 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
