  2. I prefer the 16 game schedule over 18. That's just me. I guess if they went to 16 games, the salary cap would be pro rated down accordingly.
  3. Today
  4. You’re right, 16 games.
  5. And it’s not just Florida aka Sunrise or Miami, it’s Tampa also as Florida based teams have now represented the east in 6 straight cup finals. 3 straight for the panthers and prior 3 straight by the lightning
  6. I’ve spent years researching this and I am fairly confident that Booch is the Rock
  7. Looks like 86 was when they dropped to 2 pre-season games, I believe each team had 2 byes within the 18 week season.
  8. who were you playing for at the time? Just checked and yes the CFL went to 18 games in 1986.
  9. Think this might be old news https://www.si.com/onsi/breakaway/news-feed-page/colorado-avalanche-forward-declined-trade-winnipeg-jets
  10. '86 is when we went to 18 games I think....and i remeber the 4 pre-sesdon yrs...2 a day....hitting and pads all the time...men were men and way less injuries too
  11. I thought that they only played 16 games. Maybe my memory is failing me.
  12. Prior to the early 80's the CFL played 4 pre-season games plus an 18 game schedule.
  13. I think this is the best solution.
  14. First 2 weeks of the regular season are preseason still.
  15. No. For the most part teams know who they are starting the season with. Maybe a couple openings. Guys are getting evaluated to make PR and get called back when injuries hit to make their mark in regular season and keep their careers going, or the next guy gets called in to try to take the spot.
  16. Instead of a 3rd pre season game, have a controlled scrimmage to cut costs. One team goes to the other team's camp & have it on their practice field, sell tickets, concessions, merch, etc.
  17. Yesterday
  18. think the CFL could benefit from a third preseason game? Doesn't seem like two games is enough to vet the newcomers and re-vet the veterans while allowing the undisputed starters to grind the rust off. (though I bet the question isn't "can they benefit from it" I think the question is more "can they afford it?" I can't see pre-season games being big money generators.)
  19. In an interview yesterday, Novak said he has the option to go back to school if he doesn't make the team this year, but with the recent rule interpretation on draft picks, that doesn't guarantee he'll be invited back next season.
  20. I’m not too stressed on the vets staying home. They know exactly what they bring to the table. More time for the rookies to show they can play. Pretty much every team leaves some vets home for the road preseason game.
  21. I think Novak probably ends up on the PR. Maybe Smith too.
  22. Is there enough room for Shay+Smith+Novak or does one (Novak) end up on the PR? Vaval has apparently impressed according to media reports about camp and can return, does he end up as a DI who is the extra DB and the returner?
  23. Our QBs are set. Streveler is taking the lions share of the reps because he will be starting first game. Collaros takes reps because he isn't playing for weeks after. Wouldn't be surprised if Arto and Wilson get very limited reps or none at all. Like others have said, for some guys we know exactly what they bring and are being left home. Especially the guys on D. They don't need to get into a rhythm. Everyone else is getting more of a chance to put things on film
  24. Imagine posting these two things literally back to back lol “when people talk football here they take it WAY too serious but when i do it it’s just vibes bro” exactly one post after talking exactly the same way I talk when you complain This is how I feel. I would love to believe Kyrie staying home means he hasn’t made the team but what has our front office ever done that would suggest that?
  25. Given our previous camps it isn’t ridiculous at all. We’ve cut guys the day after a ps game who didn’t play, who played extremely well, we’ve failed to play guys enough to get the rust off etc
  26. I'm excited to see Shay, Novak and Smith all on the field at once.
  27. Camps have a second game for a reason and it is ridiculous for people to assume that anything is set in stone other than our star level players. Some vets are at home because we know what they bring to the table already, and some to shield them from injury, but players play themselves onto and off of the team all the time in game action (including this one) in preseason on every team every year.
