Not sure why they have Ed Tait doing these in depth player interviews, he's like a fish out of water. They should find an ex-footballer that has more in common with the players and can discuss football intelligently with a bit of insight, maybe BA can take this over as a side job.

jury's still out for me. if he's gonna be the lapo kind of analyst who uses his football smarts to get inside the game and make the broadcast smarter, then I'm into it. but if he's a hot take machine trolling twitter superfans, then he's just a Friesen with better hair.

He's at the very least a fresh take on the CFL. Which is nice. I've never really liked his NFL stuff he did with TSN. I am kinda liking the fan ranking thing on X. Assuming he's full on trolling and not being serious. Last week he went on a rant about the "Worst penalty in CFL history" during the MTL vs TO game. And it was pretty obvious he hadn't watch the CFL very much cause, well it was the correct call and even if they had messed it up, there have been far far worse called lol.

Off topic: I hate this expression with every fibre of my being. Earn his flowers? I've heard it more and more over the last two-ish years (at a point, almost daily) and it's just cringe. Just say "earned the respect" or "lived up to the hype". Pun intended - there's no need to be so flowery. It reeks of trying to make something .. a thing. Simple language is the best language. On topic: Rourke has pretty much been a bust since he returned from the NFL. They ruined him last year by rushing him back into the lineup. He may never live up to (or have a chance to live up to) his potential and the hype surrounding him because of it.

Could have been less serious than everyone thought. And they just rested him as precaution. No one from the Bomber org has ever addressed the seriousness of the situation. The "missing multiple weeks" narrative came from one person as far as I can tell. One person who is continuously incorrect about all things CFL. Saw them at the Forks on a Canada day years ago. They were great!

cfl.ca posted his splits for the Bombers vs the rest of the league, I wish they would have split out the Elks from the 'Rest of the CFL' stats as well. Sophomore slump is definitely a thing. He had a cup of coffee in 2021, and then went super nova in 2022... by the time he came back from his Lisfranc injury the league had caught up to him and the 18 months in the NFL definitely didn't help that. You could tell in the 2022 West Final the Bombers knew exactly how to handle him. BO not being the face of the league is almost marketing malpractice at this point. I think the only player who comes close to his follow on socials is Kelly 🤢. His work with vulnerable animals should be front and centre.
