July 22, 20169 yr WOW ...are we pathetic.....Can't defend ...can't score...who wants to pay to watch this shite anymore...We have to be some kind of football sadists.....definitely sad.
July 22, 20169 yr What a disgusting interception and TD. Oh well, it's garbage yardage time. Willy will be in his element and will rack up a bunch of useless yardage. Nicholls can't be any worse than this guy.
July 22, 20169 yr TD....Nichols to Dress....is it a figment of my imagination...garbage time heroics....OR IS IT Matt Nichols the man of the hour.....oh well, I was expecting too much.

July 22, 20169 yr Uuuugly... I almost didn't turn the game back on after half time. Same ol same ol, Messam gets on a roll, BLM carves our secondary...
July 22, 20169 yr The D was pretty good. They adjusted well to injuries in the secondary and also stopped Messam in the 2nd half

July 22, 20169 yr I lost track of all the injuries after 5 guys......2 offensive linemen and 3 db's....surprised we stayed in the game as long as we did really

Unfortunately I think BLM could have scored at will whenever he needed to, the Stamps were just toying with the Bombers and showed some class by not running up the score on them at home.
July 22, 20169 yr I would argue Matt Nichols' TD drive was not garbage time... a 2 score game with 8 mins left in the CFL is easily attainable... of course, when your offense in generally incapable of any scores that makes it tough.... Also, I was impressed with the Canadians in the secondary after the injuries.... I'd like to see us start Loffler at safety and Morgan or Jones at field corner (I don't remember who was playing there last night)...
July 22, 20169 yr The worst part of the game for me was the two idiots behind me yelling "OH MY GOD...CTE!!!" every time Dressler got tackled. They were both clearly football nerds, so they might be part of this forum. If it was you, STOP IT!

We were down by 8 with 7mins left after that. In the CFL, 16 points down with almost 10 mins left if plenty of time. Our D gave a us a chance to win by hanging tough for most of the 2nd half. It's a credit to Hall for changing on the fly.

July 22, 20169 yr They were terrible in the 1st quarter, but started to get better in the 2nd and after half time and the backups were in and the D played surprisingly well considering.

Cuz they're hungry to play and our starters are just walking around defeated. One thing that caught my eye. Darvin Adams - who is an easy example, because he's probably got the most obvious body language of any player on our team - walked around looking pissed off all game until Nichols came in. Hit Adams with a 10 yard catch. Adams gets pumped up. Because there was some hope.

I think it was Tyron Brackenridge that tweeted during the game about the D just playing like they were just showing up to get paid. Pretty apt observation based on what we have seen thus far. Jones, Loffler, Morgan etc. all had the energy and desire to make plays as opposed to letting the play come to them.

That guy is a problem on this team mark my words. Yeah he might be pissed off, but he's so inconsistent with his own effort it's not even funny.

The defense wasn't perfect... no one is arguing that... they allowed 26 points but still gave the team a chance to win this game... there is a distinct difference between the quality of the D and the O right now...
July 22, 20169 yr From the body language of the players before half-time, they did not expect to win, and I think the whole team has given up. There was a brief flurry of hope when Nichols came in, but by that time, the game was pretty much decided. Three points at the half? Willy has lost the confidence of his team mates and I believe O'Shea is in the same boat.
July 22, 20169 yr ....while the fans were voting with their feet (Rum Hut). Bombers should really consider putting a cover over that entire end zone and expanding the RH.

When a team has an energized quarterback that leads the team through his play, that ripples down to the entire team, and up into the stands to the fans. And of course the opposite occurs with a bad quarterback, leading to fights in the stands! I won't be surprised if Willy starts in Edmonton, but Nicholls has to get extra reps on the 1st team offence this week. We simply have to do something. Oh and I'm not sure La Po is the right guy either....
