It's About Time The Bombers Did This

man i hope it means we are gonna bring back guys like blink again to induct them into the ring.

Wonder if they will have a ring of honor and BB hall of fame. With the best of the best up for ring induction. Because there must be at this point about 50 guys in BB hall of fame.

You don't have to retire a number with a ring of honour.

Exactly. They can be honoured while keeping the number in circulation.

Don't know about retiring numbers in perpetuity but certainly during a player's lifetime.

Ring of honour, love it. The stadium won't be big enough.

Ploen, Stegall, Lewis, Walby to start it off?

Id like to see them add a name each home game for the first season. Those are cant miss guys though.

To me, that's the Mount Rushmore of Blue Bombers.

If you do one per game, add guys like Blink, Brown, Murphy, Jacobs, Brock, Battle, Jones etc.

Lots of players, managers & coaches to pick from.

Doesnt Roberts have an issue with being able to get here....

what is the problem?

I think players from the older eras should go first just out of respect for the past. Fritz Hansen, Russ Rebholz, Jack Jacobs Tom Casey, George Trafton, Bud Grant, Herb Gray, Frank Rigney, Ken Ploen, Leo Lewis, Ernie Pitts, Norm Rauhaus, etc,

This is going to be tough as all those names are deserving but today who knows except people who would be her on this site. We already have a statue for Grant and posters around the stadium for others. How many can you honour?

All of them.

Do them in pairs.  Like loading the ark.  One from the olden days and one from newer times.  Rigney and Walby at the same ceremony.

Can't forget buiders; Cal Murphy, Paul Robson...Nasty Nate

You honour the players who created the legacy of our team. I think that modern players should be honoured for sure. But the guys that came before them need to be recognized so modern fans know who these players are. That's the worst part of the CFL & the Blue Bombers themselves.... they don't honour the past like they should. The NFL is great on remembering & honouring former greats. They live on in NFL Films. The CFL never did that which is really unfortunate.

Yeah, that seems like the way to go.

Nate? I'd put put him in the category of best toilet cleaner because the guy is a POS.

where would you guys place Matt Dunnigan? I'm trying hard to think of what he really did in his time here, obviously that big 700 yard passing game, but most of his success came on other teams

He had that monster passing game in 1993 for the Bombers but when I think of Dunigan, I think of him more as an Eskimo as he won the GC with them in 86.
