Penton said Riders a potentially 26 free agents. So few more names will come out.

Chip Cox sure would look nice in Blue and Gold though I'm assuming he either a) re-signs or B) retires.

As much as I dislike Montreal, I've always enjoyed watching him play. If not talking the Bombers, probably my current favorite defensive player.

Funny with Jones being a free agent. There have been rumours that he wants to go to the Riders I wonder if they would go with him a head of Heenan,

I think Walters should bid for any of these 3

Zaleski, Fortin or Matechuk.

We need an LS and its a high-priority . :D

Apparently Remple will be a FA. Probably will wait out another NFL shot but would but would look good in Blue and Gold.

Paris just tweeted out he was excited to come back next year I wonder if he does have a deal for next year now.

Cotton signed with the Bombers a few months before the new CBA came into effect. Wouldn't he have a minimum 2 year contract.

Sure sounds like it. Normally a FA wouldn't tweet something like that until the ink is dry.

Who I like....

OL: Holmes, Epelle, O'Donell, Bryant, Harrison or Washington

WR: Watt, Jackson

RB: Steele, Sutton

DL: Oramasionwu, Westerman, Anderson, Lemon, Willis

LB: Woods, Wild, Bowman, Hurl

DB: Bucknor, MacDougall, Sears, Brackenridge, Washington

When you get put on the practice roster, the official transactions are a release and a re-signing to a practice roster agreement.

When you get put on the active roster from the practice roster, the official transactions are a nullification of your practice roster agreement and a signing of a new deal.

The new deal could have been signed under the terms of the new CBA.

Wouldn't get too excited about Eppele, the odds on favorite for his destination is probably retirement.

ratio wise, i think it's easier to establish the 2 DT as NI spots than find the 4th starting NI OL.

if Walters can manage to...

... bring Westerman and/or DonnyO

... then trade for the rights of Gill...

... then bring Bilukidi here (who I believe has no PR eligibility left for next year).

with Thomas and Lucas as depth guys

Did you not include Heenan and Jones b/c you are just assuming they will resign in Sask/Cgy?

I got a feeling they will stay where they are right now.

Riders can easily dump Picard's salary to re-up Heenan. They have Watman to take over in C and can resign Dan Clark too.

I'm not sure if Jones already finished his medical studies in Calgary, if not, that's a big reason for him to stay. I think, Riders will come after him hard.

Riders has proven that they dont care about the SMS limit. They can pay the penalty if needed be.

If it ain't red, I ain't care!

(although I like several of Hamilton's import receivers)

If we offer Ben Heenan 250K or so I'm not sure that he's as unrealistic as a target as some people may think.

How much is Picard earning right now?

I believe some of their big earners are pending FAs too ... like Foley.

The Riders actually apparently got Foley on a very reasonable deal. He'll be do for a raise if they bring him back. They'll have a lot of tough decisions to make this off season,it'll be very interesting to see what happens in Riderville.

If we're talking anyone up for grabs, I would add:

QB: Brohm

OL: Heenan

WR: Tasker, Grant, Miles, Carter

RB: Walter, not sure I'd take Steele, but Sutton looks good.

Haven't had a chance to look at the defense yet.

I see Cotton and Sutton as both similar back.

I like a combo smallish and bigger RB. Cotton stands as 5.08 while Steele is 6.00. Cotton gets the big yard runs while Steele (or a bigger back) gets the short hard yards.

Yeah that's true, I wasn't thinking that.  A good combo would be something like Cotton with another big back like Steele punching through the defense.

IF they are serious about making a run at the cup. I know he is getting old but having a guy like Nic Lewis in the locker room would do wonders. Still think he has another 1000 yard season in him or at least a 700-800 yards.

We need an import Tackle and if Harrison or Washington will be available, it would nice to add a younger veteran OT in the lineup to replace January.

I wouldn't mind Brackenridge if he will be available, I'm not sure if we can keep both Sears (NFL aspiration) and Washington. Brackenridge will be an upgrade and can slot him anywhere as SAM, HB or S.

I'm not sure if Walters can bring back Chris Matthews here but would like to see the UB connection of Willy and Jackson here. Although I would assume Jackson will exhaust his NFL aspirations next year.
