Als @ TiCats / Riders @ Eskis - The Final Showdown

In Hamilton - It's all or nothing for the Tiger Cats.  Win today and they will win the East, but lose and they will be eliminated.  For Montreal, a win today would cap off a huge season of turnarounds for team that seemed all but lost midway though the season, yet they've now surpassed the 500 mark and would get an improbable 10 wins by winning today.  Hell of a game coming here.

In Edmonton - What do the Esks want to do?  Do they want to go into conservative mode and sit their starters and prepare to play the Riders next week, or do they want to send the men in green out east should Darrian Durant come back next week?  Either way they'll be hosting the east semifinal to one of those 2 teams.

It's a playoff, playoff game.

It's pretty huge.

Montreal wants to win - 1st place is their reward. It's right there, they can taste it.

Hamilton has to win - they are motivated.

The weather will be huge factor - lots of wind, possible rain.

Medlock has the better leg for this. advantage, Hamilton.

Sutton is the far better runner, advantage, Montreal.

Coin toss is now a bigger factor.

Montreal wins by running the ball and limiting turnovers.

Hamilton wins by Collaros's scrambling and ability to make plays.

Collaros will be the better passer under these weather conditions, advantage, Hamilton.

LOL at the thought that Hamilton's pick up of Grigsby is thought to possibly pay big dividends for this game. Are they right?

Can Hamilton stop the Duron Carter machine?

Can Crompton even get to use the Carter machine?

Whyte is a pretty reliable kicker, but Medlock has the better leg.

Will Hamilton gamble to use that leg in, say a 40+ yard attempt?

Zach Collaros vs Crompton? Advantage Hamilton

Defences? Advantage Montreal, but not by too much as Hamilton has a good run defence.

The look on Austin's face, with a Hamilton loss, would be so worth it, but….I don't think we're going to see it.

Hamilton needs this game more.

Hamilton will be in the playoffs, and if it's by more than 8 points, they will be in 1st place.

Grigsby has had 1, just one good run of 45 yards since joining the TiCats and that was in garbage time vs Ottawa last week.  This Montreal defense has been lights out the entire 2nd half and I don't see that changing up front this game.

Even though this isn't a bomber game, I'm loving what's coming here.  The Grey Cup is almost here, let's see who takes it.

Just an FYI Hamilton has to win by 8 points or more to win the division since Montreal took their first matchup by 7 earlier this season.  They can win by less than that and take second.

I stand corrected

That was one hell of a catch by SJ Green there.

It was also a serious under throw by Crompton. That ball could've been picked off because it took so long to get there. Did anyone else notice how Crompton was talking to Green on the sidelines after the fumble for a touchdown? I had a feeling that conversation was about going deep to him next series.

There's that sick clunk of a helmet-to-helmet hit ... Collaros is flat on his back on the field ... sure hope he's okay.

edit: and he stays in the game, but on the next play he sure didn't look sharp, hunting around, ball extended, trying to figure out where Grigsby was so he could hand it off.  And then he throws a couple slick passes and its Hamilton TD.

shouldn't he be taken out of the game?

what happened to the concussion protocol?

I don't know what triggers the concussion protocol, but Collaros didn't leave the game at all.  The big hit happened at the end of the third quarter, so he had a bit of time to shake it off before the fourth quarter started. Didn't see exactly what happened on the field because TSN was playing the between-quarters commercials.

It sure looked (and sounded) like a big hit though.
