By all rights, we should have our asses handed to us tonight. BC appears to be a team on the rise, and we have effectively regressed each week.  Having said that, I expected an ass kicking vs Toronto as well, so who knows.

Agreed. After the Willy interview I switched over to 1290. They take some calls but not nearly as much. Walby provides good insight as well.

Got to say that the Bombers Dline might be one of the most hard working blue coller type/lunch pail lines I have seen in a awhile. No flashy edge rushers just bulls who fight through blocks to get into the back field. Gritty group.

Marve has torn his ACL in one of his knees THREE TIMES. I did it once 35 years ago & would have an issue doing qb sneaks even if I lifted weights & was in game shape. The knee is never the same after one surgery. I can't imagine 3 & trying to do that. If Portis is a mobile qb, once he's up to snuff on the playbook, I'd give him a shot. Nothing to lose. 

BC looked cocky and unfocused... Dropped passes , bad penalties and my favorite play was when Bazzi and his team mate stupidly ran the ball after the play was dead down the field only for the Blue to run hurry up and both guys having to sprint back to the line and barely making it back.

Liked they did a hurry up sneak with Willy once then never did it again though. Liked the design on the Pointbrian hand off in the no back set.

What about Brohm? Why isn't he sneaking? He's a big man and no knee issues that I'm aware of. It's not like he has to sprint. So far this year, we are, by far, the worst QB sneak team. They gotta work on that.

To be fair - Bryant was ridiculously open for a TD and Willy underthrew him - I would even go so far as to say Bryant was also open on a second play that Willy underthrew and would have resulted in a TD.

 

Willy doesn't underthrow those balls and Bryant is something like 2 catches for 60 yards and 2 tds

I saw things differently... One throw romby broke off early and shoulda kept going... One he should have turned other shoulder and came back a step or 2... Endzone was on willy tho, rainbow pass floated too long..

yup nothing wrong. only 2 (or 3) botch qb sneak. its all about putting the best team out there. if portis can do it effectively then let him do it.

Nevermind the fact that job #1 of the QB is to get low on sneaks - something Marve doesn't do at all. Some people just don't understand the game they are watching.

The OL gets criticized a lot...so the default position is to just blame the OL.  The truth is those guys are improving every game and are really missing Greaves at left guard.

Both play a part no doubt. However to fully blame the line for our short yardage issues is simply foolish.

 

As an aside granted B.C. doesn't have any consistent, dangerous threat to sack the QB at end, I liked having Howard at tackle last night.

I also noticed that January was back to his usual steady play. He got beat a few against the Esks.
