CFL cuts

Hinse and Hartmann cut? Give me either one.

I'd buy three tickets to Winnipeg from Edmonton, for Hartmann, Alexandre and Dadzie.

Don't understand why Edmonton would cut 3 of their 5 2014 picks (Hartmann, Dadzie and Medeiros), they aren't exactly flush with Canadians.

Morin-Plante from Calgary wouldn't be a bad pickup either, and I'd look hard at plucking Billy Peach.

How 'bout both of them?

Wait Hartmann is a draftee by Esks, is it possible he's returning back to school?

Possible, although I'm not sure where he'd return to, he hasn't played CIS in awhile.  Can still claim him off waivers.

Would Ottawa have first crack at some of these PR players. Or is it first team to put a claim in?

No, there is no order to who can claim someone off someone else's PR. First man up to claim him. Of course, all Calgary would do is activate him and that ends that. The smarter play might be to try and trade for him. It is obvious that Calgary will have a very hard time holding onto him over the long term.

I don't think there is any waiver priority involved.  You can't simply claim players off practice rosters either, you can offer them an active roster spot and if they accept, their current team can match that offer to keep the player and place them on the active roster, or let the player walk.

I like the trade idea for Peach. Offer up a 3rd or 4th rounder.

I certainly wouldn't start with that. You hold all the leverage

Agreed. Be the first to make the claim. If Huff wants to then put him on the roster, then offer the trade. Also helps maintain good relationships by doing the trade. No one like other teams messing with their PRs.

Some good players were cut. I wonder if we give Richardson a look? Although we do need an outside guy more. Still, I'm not sure that keeping Chad Johnson over him was a good move despite Richardson's recent injury problems. I'd definitely bring back Etienne as a backup receiver considering how desperately we need one.

Hugh Charles being released surprises me as well although admittedly I haven't paid much attention to the other running backs the Esks have brought in.
