Second season of Orange is the New Black launched today.

 

Anyone else into this?

 

I have to admit to being a bit of a TV/movie-phile.  I generally buy Blu-Rays when there's a movie I want to see rather than just watching it on PPV or In-demand (I like to collect).

 

Premium TV has really been leading a creative resurgence in recent years, probably dating back to The Sopranos.  Its nice that Netflix has become a legitimate competitor for HBO (which puts out some really great shows like Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood etc).

 

House of Cards was tremendous.

 

While cable channels like AMC are getting in on the act, I annoys me a bit.  The Walking Dead would be so much better on Netflix or HBO where they could truly appeal to adults (HBO passed on The Walking Dead when Thomas Jane was attached).

 

As for Orange, it took me a few episodes to get into last season but Im looking forward to banging out a few episodes tonight.

 

As an aside, for you Trekies, it was recently the 20th anniversary of the finale of TNG, one of the best Series' Finales in TV history.

I watched the Super Girl pilot and, even as pilots go, it was one of the worst things I've ever seen. Completely ridiculous. People **** on Gotham, but holy ****, Super Girl is atrocious.

I watched the first 2 supergirl episodes, and just watched the last 2 this afternoon (Manhunt and Worlds finest) the first few eps were pretty bad, the last 2 with martian manhunter and the flash were a lot better, but very CW when they arent fighting, totally aimed at the female demograph imo

Maybe the CW will rescue it.

How can I get excited about Game of Thrones season 6 when every time they've deviated from the source material the show has been complete **** and they've run out of source material? I won't even be bothering to watch. I'll go back and revisit it after the fat man either finishes writing the books or dies.

My money is on the books not getting finished.  

I never read the books so the differences dont concern me.  I generally hate "fantasy" but I like GoT.  But if Jon Snow is really dead Im out.

I dont recall them burning him either way, there's still a chance he returns just as jon snow white walker

I'm just about to get started on trailer park boys season 10, hope it's good, I see Snoop Dogg and Tom Arnold are on the show this season

There are other options.   In season 3, Beric Dondarrion was resurrected after being killed by the Hound so it's possible Jon could be brought back that way.  If only they had a red priest (or priestess in this case) nearby to do that...

There were at least 2 chapters in Dance with Dragons that existed solely to foreshadow what is going to happen to Jon.

It's not the differences, it's that what they change or go off script for is just ******* terrible.

its pretty good so far, im on episode 4, i love ricky's botched quotes like turnips in heat, how robb wells can keep a straight face with his rickyisms is amazing

I have not watched TPB since they all made up at the end of season 6/7?

I stopped watching for a while too, then my buddies had me watch Swearnet followed by binge watching season 8 and 9, totally rekindled my love for TPB

Season eight is where Mike Smith Rob Wells and John Paul Trembley took over the show from Mike Clattenburg

Speaking as a Wheel of Time devotee, I suggest that nobody kid around about Martin dying before the books are finished. To this day I blame myself for the death of Robert Jordan.

So I had to watch The Walking Dead live (and watch WrestleMania on the PVR).... can we post spoilers or are people still waiting to watch it?

Lots of theories out there....

I haven't watched it yet so I'd prefer not to read about it just yet, but that's just me.  You can always use the spoiler function (the eye on the toolbar) to hide stuff like that though if you really want to talk about it.
