  • So long as Collaros is drawing breath, O'Shea will start him. Should the Bombers win, it will be in spite of the coaching, not because of it. So far as Dru Brown is concerned, his previous starts were

Rib injury? No sweat- it only hurts when you breathe, so he should be good to go. Seriously, now O'Shea has a ready-made excuse for losing on Saturday. His star QB was unavailable and if he were, the Bombers would have romped to victory after victory all the way to winning the Cup.

Or torque body when throwing..prob be right up osh's alley playing him with limited throwing ability with an already degraded arm even when healthy..lord help us..if he isnt anywhere near 80 percent healty he better not be dressed..the unknown Perkins if forced into action could be the playoff story

In Brown's big game against BC, someone (Duane Forde?) made the point that the Lions D was not just inexperienced, it was also undermanned because there were a number of starters who were dressed but who weren't taking reps due to the small roster size in the CFL. And as the Lions' D wore down, Brown exploded on em.

Normally I'm not the guy who says "we didn't win, they actually sucked" but in this case it sure looked like the Lions were visibly tired on Brady's long TD.

Anyway, go blue. No one wins a Grey Cup from the crossover spot .. but I'll take sending Pesty McMillions to a disappointingly early offseason as a consolation prize.

It was Lapo. Forde only does Eastern games.

Personally, I'd roster Vanterpool and use him in a heavy set a lot.

Looks like Vanterpool was moved to the Active Roster today. https://stats.cfl.ca/transactions?year=2026&team=WPG

D. Dixon to the Reserve Roster, Hansen to the PR and Gatkuoth to IR

You win the internet today...that is all.

with Zac being questionable once again for a big game, its obvious now why we gave up a lot to get Brown.

Its not like we didn't know by the end of the year that it was 50\50 Zac would be available. We did get lucky that Demski is relatively healthy. Usually for the playoffs half our offence is limping into them.

Pretty good assessment...I agree Brown gets it out fast...is way better at touch and timing...even on the simplest of plays such as a screen or dump off where ZC literally sucks...and that for sure had your guys wires crossed both times...you were able to adapt in the second tilt. But as shown all yr...2 yrs really, and we cant adjust or adapt to save our butts...what we install it seems is embedded in concrete and you guys were able to take over

Brown isnt a pocket guy, and I believe he functions way better on moving him around especially when we use some play action with it to actually augment his intermediate/timing game...From his first tour here, and then again this yr, he has had a lot of success doing it. And with a WR now in Singer who knows how to position himself to win contested balls...also how to angle his patterns to make it easier to throw him open I can see (hopefully) more success there....BUT...and this a BIG but it all hinges on Dumb Dumb...I mean Condell to script a plan to mix in both...And if he smart incorporate BO early and often with some RPO type play action stuff to keep the defence off balance and cant just cheat one way or another

I guess too the other Dumb Dumb in the HC hopefully has seen things...knows whats kinda going on and has had input/participation in creating the proper scheme or at the very least, said something in regards to this...something..anything...But that's where all my doubt is sitting....a first round early exit/flop again from being out coached and outclassed....yet again

I see this as the Argos' biggest pitfall to avoid.

The home side needs to get out to a 1st quarter lead or else it'll be a lot of Oliveira. I expect that the pass defence will be brought in tight, basically daring Condell and Brown to try a deep game. The byproduct of that will be a general softening of the rushing lanes and Brady storming forward 7-8 yards at a time and breaking a few long runs on us... and then strutting forward to spin the ball and signal a first down. If the Scullers want to avoid seeing that, the best way will be to get out ahead and make Condell chase the game, force Brown to go vertical, then make him pay for it.

Every week there are some very strange early roster movements. Vanterpool and Elsbury are not both going to be on the AR as back ups. I have no idea why they made this particular move. I can see one of them being moved to the reserve except they moved Dixon there.

This could mean Collaros moving to IR and Elgersma being add to AR to make room?

Hansen to PR should suggest another Canadian added but does that mean Smith is going to be added even though he's not practising? Cobb is available but what would he add?

coaching is gonna be the key factor in who wins this game....And if that's the case, I feel the Argo's will cruise to the win

Yeah...some weird maneuvering...I have a sick feeling in my gut that we are gonna see some strange, and bad roster moves for this game....and like where have we seen that before??

Hope I wrong...I bet tho there gonna be at least one guy dressed who wont even touch the field and serve zero purpose/impact to the game and have been better served having someone who could have...cause again...In a big game where have we seen that before...dont have to look too far back to see multiple instances

Disagree. Whoever's playmakers show up will win. I don't doubt we may be outcoached, but if we make plays we can overcome that. It's harder for sure, but the best coaching does not always equal success, nor does bad coaching always equal failure. The guys who get paid to make plays need to show up. If we get big plays from our playmakers and still lose...then we can talk coaching as the decisive factor.

Oh I agree on that as well...we definitely have some playmakers....but they also need to be prepared in a scheme that will work...and also have ability of the coach's to adjust on fly where and as needed...and yes execute it...and if poorly prepared hopefully our actual talented guys can pull it out in spite of that..As I truly don't think we are as devoid of talent in key spots as many think....and hopefully short leash's are attached to "all" our guys, and Osh has the kajonies to make some player adjusting mid flight if need be...You sucking out there...You best get planked

My concern is, and based on this whole yr...I have doubts that they will be properly prepared and have a good game plan to put them in the positions to succeed if they execute as they should...A poor game plan executed to a TEE will still fail a team if it's just garbage, along with poor film work and coaching.

Maybe we get a superb week of prep and we come out on a mission...I certainly hope so

On a diff note...with all the discussion here as who is to blame...who needs to go with staff..coaches...etc...If Mr Brown pulls the rabbit outta his hat...gets us to the EF...Walter's should get deserved praise and acknowledgement for that no? And salvaging the seson? AS many here say the poor roster here is all on him, and Osh has/had no say whom is brought in ...so safe to say he had no input in bringin Brown in...and was a savvy GM move...by him alone with no input? Should go both ways no?

Brown has pulled one Rabbit getting us to this point...does he have another...and another? To at least get to the Cup?...Weirder things and unlikeliest of hero's has happened before in playoffs...we are due for some luck again...so here's hoping

Walters absolutely deserves credit for bringing Brown back.

I mean, zach has played a seasons worth of play off games as a bomber and been good or better 2 maybe 3 times and outright awful the majority of the time.

I'm hoping we give zach the chance to have some quality of life past 50.

At a pro level players have to self motivate. It's not a coaches job to motivate them at that level. The room has to do that for itself. I do agree with your assessment of being put into the right place to make plays. If none of our playmakers have chances to make plays it will be evident, if they do have opportunity to make plays but fail to do so...that's not on coaching. We will see I guess.

Let's just face it we have to 'try' and control Kelly's passing game or he'll carve us up using Coxie to do it....How we do that is by limiting the source and that would be put continuous pressure on their qb.....Our db's have to be at top of their game also...The argo's running game doesn't scare anybody...We are certainly more balanced with our offensive attack...I hope we use it and use Drew's quick release and spread the ball around and hopefully we don't forget about Brady...put that all together and ya just never know

Yeah he has far been the reason and main catalyst for any of our playoff success really...The one west final I recall he was lights out on fire...and one other I cant recall off top my head...But in the majority of the rest he was not the difference....but in the grey cup losses...he was one the main reasons....Tho the first duece dumper Osh played him in an ankle that didnt allow him to plant...throw with any intent, and took all his off schedule stuff off the table...so cant fault him for tha...or when he had 4 fingers in the other...tho even before the injury he didnt look like he was gonna drag us over the finish line

Im not really talking about self motivation...more about being coached and put in positions to succeed...and have success...You can be as hyped and pumped as u want, and execute whatever the play is handed to you...but if it is flawed from the get go...you ain' winning diddly...Thats my point...and also, If a guy is not making plays, or just continually failing in assignments in a game...and you have a bonehead coach who wont pull him off field...Tha's 1000000% percent bad BAD coaching...No player is gonna yank himself, and you wont get a vet.. like WJ...or Stan Bryant telling a player to sit down cause this player or that player is coming in and going over a coach's head. It's a coach's responsibility to see these issues in a game...and correct it if he can. Osh never ever EVER does for poor performance...only if injured...and Christ we had a QB who wasnt getting it done really in a Grey Cup...then pretty much lost a finger...said on bench he couldn't grasp ball, or be able to really throw...so they duct taped it together..slapped a glove on him (something he has never ever used) and he sent him back out there...and well we saw the results...That's just one example of a poor, stupid bonehead of a HC in the biggest game of the yr

Last time I broke the numbers down, it was something to the extent of .75 of a td per game, 2 INTs, around 50% completion, under 7 yards per completion, and just over 200 yards per game. I think it went up last year, but I haven't gone back into it. It's too depressing.

Here is an even more depressing thought. A bomber QB throwing for 5k yards in a season is rarer than the Riders winning a GC. Next year is the 20-year anniversary of the 07 season, when KG was the East MOP and led the league with 5100 yards. It's also the last time a Bomber QB threw for 5000 yards. 5 years after Khari threw for over 5k, the lone time he accomplished that feat. Dunnigan fell just shy of that number in 93.

its not just Coxie...how many 1000 yard guys they have?

We need a sound game plan...Maybe even do something we haven't done all yr right outta the gate and hopefully get up big early before they adjust

Personelle used in packages as well will be big...Kelly will get eaten alive

This is one of the main reasons if/when our defence gets burned over the top… because Jake Kelly somehow avoided being Jeff Hecht’d off the field.

Go up by a TD, feed Brady, win the TOP and keep Kelly on the bench.
On D, keep everything in front of the db's. Toronto wins on deep shots.

yup...deep shots most times off a scramble of some kind...disciplined play to keep engaged and eyes outta the backfield

This will be what determines who wins on saturday imo.

There are ways that a coach can certainly screw up and put his team in a bad position for sure. If guys make plays they can overcome that. That is my point. A starting QB getting injured with no viable back up behind him is a death blow no matter what decision is made. You guys keep suggesting it was a big mistake that cost us the game...it didn't....the game was lost already the only thing that keeping Zac in did was make the spread a little bigger. Zero chance that any QB comes off the bench that game and leads us to victory. We actually did try a different QB and he promptly threw 5 straight incompletions. The game was lost before Zac's injury.

Not suggesting putting Zac back in the game was the right move, it was desperate. But one could make a very good argument that the situation was desperate. We had two QBs that were awful behind him.
