ZC for Kiondre Smith.

Why did we add Hazen to the AR? Did he play on ST's or spend the entire game on the bench? We had an opportunity to add another import receiver or DB in case we had an in game injury.

mentioned this in another post....he is a lb...we have a glut already and wouldn't take a snap ahead of any of the other7...he wouldn't...or shall i say shouldn't have replaced one of the teamers as that group has been solid all yr...that would be just...dumb...so yup we wasted a DA on a guy who didnt even need to lace up his shoe's....where we could have added yes...a WR who would actually garner attention and be a threat...a DB for depth and maybe take reps away from Kelly, Kramdi...Jenkins also would have added more value as he was already on ST's so yanking him they had to replace his spot....Coulda even just left MAZZ on roster as a road grader on jumbo/short yardage...

But nope...just another in the long list of dumbass roster moves from Smuggsy

You are not alone in wondering about O'Shea's roster mangement, and many here have been for some time.

cost us at minimum 2 cups

note that all my "oh god please don't trade Zach and leave us vulnerable" goes out the window if we got Stavros or Kiondre Smith or a similar S-tier canuck talent back for him. but I really doubt that you'll get a foundational building block back in exchange for an emergency veteran quarterback.

unless Ottawa is involved because those guys seem to not think too hard about their football moves.

The floor for TE is extremely high.

is it, really? People tell me that the CFL games moves 5x as fast as the USports game, is he gonna be able to accelerate his brain accordingly?

Not saying that the dude is a no-hoper or anything and it'd be swell if he were the second coming of Russ Jackson or even Gerry Datillio .. but he hasn't moved beyond "very inttriguing prospect" for me.

Not to mention the circus act our O-Line was in those days

Oh gawd... I had forgotten how much I hated Morley and January. Yet those guys would show up year after year and be completely ineffective.

Bombers would have lost the past two games with Collaros at the helm. He won just 11 games in 2024 and only six games in 2025 due to diminished arm strength and mobility, not to mention cumulative effect of concussions that impact a QBs processing time. Love Zach for his leadership of this club from 2019-2022. But the time has come to look ahead. Dru Brown better start vs Ottawa.

Or????

Moving out QBs for no apparent reason is horrid roster management. Anyone suggesting this but criticizing MOS for roster management have really lost the plot.

For the first time in several years we have a 1A and a 1B. One is old but capable, the other is also capable but injury prone. Together our QBing is in a good place, apart we are going back to a first year backup. That would not be wise.

Neither Collaros, nor Brown, should be trusted to play the full slate of games.

What good what it do for Hamilton to get a quality veteran QB only to send back other high end parts? The only way Hamilton isn't screwed is if they can get a REAL starting QB for picks... It serves them no purpose to send back an important piece.

Nobody is injury prone..its just bad luck for most part...or playing recklessly...or being hung out to dry and pummeled.. body can only take so much

Only thing that becomes an "injury prone" thing is head injuries.. they are culminating to the system and every one u get..u never fully get back to 100 percent

ZC is prime example now ever since the edm game..he was lucky his time here not getting rocked until then...ever since has not been the same..and has gone out now multiple times since..and the whole while he has looked in decline..bad decisions...panicky in the pocket..slower processing leading to picks and poor throws...awkwardness in some of his footwork and launch points..

He was fine until that game basically..but since its been obvious

Sorry but there is such a thing as injury prone. Bad luck might be part of it but some guys are more durable than others. Anyone not worried about either of our top 2 guys staying healthy are fooling themselves.

Brown missed half the season last year. That could very well be a one off, but it would be reckless to not have him re-establish his durability for the remainder of the season given his backup would be a guy not ready to be a starter.

We literally pummeled Dinwiddie for doing the exact same thing guys are proposing we should do...and he had much more valid reasons to do it.

We traded for Brown so we could have a deep and experienced QB room..now some guys want to blow it up and go right back to square one. SMH.

Dont make decisions based on a potential injury? At most positions..yea...at QB to not do so is irresponsible roster management of the highest order. When TE is ready things can change, right now it would be one of the most reckless roster decisions we could make.

I disagree...Injury prone is a myth....Maybe poor conditioned players are apt to get hurt more and have issues basically because they are poor at conditioning their body, but injuries are just a crap shoot....cant predict...and for most part for serious ones from contact sports...hard to prevent other than not playing....or just not getting involved

How many times do you see an athlete with zero history of any injury have a non contact season/career ender outta nowhere...and more times than not its a athlete who is extremely fit and athletic...not the big ol brutes and slob looking guys...Its just bad luck....timing and circumstance

Brown was pummled almost like how we ended Willy's career here...And his main injury was a mcl strain from being tackled oddly on a QB run..

A player who is not "injury prone" can still get injured. But genetics will also play a role in how susceptible you are to getting hurt. but research also suggests that genetics play a part in how easily you are hurt.

so...has Browns genetics been analyzed to make tha injury prone claim?...I kid...But yeah thats all a part of it...but also something you can not pre determie....as they say...**** happens

No history in my family genes for joint and or ligament...tendon issues...Brother who played...several first cousins who were high level athletes....Nary an injury from any...I blew my knee apart 2x...separated a shoulder...Tore a labrum...broke hand 2x...broke bone in fore arm...4 known concussions...Had a molar knocked out...Just bad luck, and one injury was a poor choice by me in what I did...and paid for it

Also....even tho football players are viewed as tough guys...some guys are just pusssies too....and are just mentally weak....that also factors in

I never said Brown's genetics were the cause of his injuries. It just stands to reason that the genetic makeup of some people will make them more resilient to injuries. Can you tell the difference as to what was the cause of an injury? No. But over the course of a career you can make some assumptions if you see patterns. Could be bad luck, could be genetics, but some people are just more brittle.

Suggesting otherwise flies in the face of what we know about human beings. Not everyone has the same strength/weaknesses. To suggest that some people aren't more prone to injuries would be suggesting we are all built equal. We are not. I am certainly not giving Dru Brown the injury prone designation, but I am saying with the type of injury and the way it was sustained, the Bombers need to proceed with caution until it is established this was just bad luck.

oh I know....was just be a kidder....that was more for others saying he was injury prone...and yeah some people just have trash genetics

agree as well...though we all have dame parts and pieces...some just have the unfortunate luck of getting the value pack version and others the premium package

Browns one last yr from my knowledge was an MCL issue when tackled from behind/side...Other than that he really hasn't been a walking MASH unit...has he?...I dont really recall a lot of random stuff

He's younger tho than ZC and will recover from the standard bumps/bruises/strains so that's on his side. I for one want us to keep both, and I'd roll with Brown until ZC is 100 percent, especially if he is performing well as it will only benefit us deeper in the season, and if that means we have a 100 percent, or close ZC when it realy matters...bonus for us

But of we out of running, or we are looking at a cross over hope before the trade deadline...If we can get anything of value for ZC....i'd move him as this is his last yr and we get nothing once the final snap is over.

The thing is in the CFL it is unlikely we are out of the running until well past the trade deadline.

true...but you can kinda know where you are at around then...if as an organization you are being realistic

We wont trade him anyway, so its just interesting banter, and we may be trying to keep ahead of the Cats anyway for a crossover...so helping them...doesnt help us

I think if our defence plays like they did against Toronto we have a good shot at a home playoff game.

I actually kinda liked what I saw...and the small shift in player usage...with I think more to come

Smith is just getting better and basically played starters reps last game, so when Woodbey is available I can see it allowing us to likely bump Wilson off the roster....or at the least just a role as a DA...Dixon as well will upgrade Fletcher, who has gotten better but still is just adequate at best...we shouldn't settle for adequate

Williams as well is really coming into his own and actually brings some actual physicality to the DB's....Still willing to give Nichols benefit of the doubt for now...Is he trying to do too much?...Or is he better suited now to come in at the role we use Kelly...which doesn't need to be a Canadian. Sure he had a better game last week but is still a huge liability out there and not needed.

Kramdi too...he is more a liability than an asset...Don't care how smart they say he is...if he that smart let him coach then. To yank Griffin from SAM just to satisfy playing Kramdi would weaken us overall. Griffin has been one our best defenders consistently all yr. Pieces are there...some tweaking needs to be done tho but the defence will round out and be our backbone I think

But we cant let Osh waste a valuable DA spot on a redundant player at LB who never saw the field last game...of all his bone headed moves, that one is right at the top...like wtf smarten the eff up.

**** "a good chance at a home playoff game"... I want first. The only team in this league that scares me is Montreal and I'm not sure they can keep their main pieces healthy all season.

I think the defence is beginning to gel. The offensive line looked 100x better last game. If we have indeed shored up those two aspects we can compete with anyone.

The injury prone thing really in my opinion sums up Booch thinking in several areas... And it really a competitive athlete mentality... Do the work you won't get hurt as readily. Similar to the idea that guys with God given talent will just make it work. It stems from I think the belief that everyone is going to work as hard as you therefore the more natural talent the better. It's super common in the sporting world and why some players with gobs of talent get a million chances even if they can't translate that into the field.

But I think the overall impact is far more nuanced than that... And yes injury prone is a real thing. Some people just have bad luck, defective factory parts or put themselves in situations where they're getting hurt.
