25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread

Is this ever a guy we should take a run at? I really like Pokey as a receiver but not sure he's a 1A Superstar guy... Would you ever take a run at Hatcher as your #1 and then have Pokey and Demski as 2/3?

I hate change. This is going to take me like a year to get used to.

Can confirm - ran it through Google Translate and this is what came back:

  • Brady is the most complete running back in the CFL full stop. Rushing, receiving, blocking, no one does it all as well as he does.   Now that doesn't automatically make the contract he got w

I can't stand the way he interacts with people online. It's insanely disrespectful. But I'm willing to give him a chance to with colour commentary. Though, it's a shame they couldn't/wouldn't find a former CFLer for that role.

Hopefully he doesn't come off as a smug pr**k when interacting with the PBP guys.

I like it. But it's obvious he works less than any other TSN on air analyst or pbp. One game a week. Wilson should also be in the studio on the panel when he's not in the booth on Fridays

I’d rather listen to the stadium pa announcers than him, or suitor. Honestly not many color or pbp guys at tsn for cfl are worth listening to.

How does the CFL get gambling revenue?

People are referencing advertising deals.

Don’t think many sane people would place bets on leagues taking “gambling revenue.”

Then they shouldn't say advertising and gambling revenue

Anybody/anything that can push Suitor out of the booth is an improvement. Although, I can totally see him walking all over Dusty.

I came across a post on FB, showing a screenshot of a Tweet.... Apparently Lalji was on a podcast and said that the finishing touches for the new broadcast arrangement are being done now, and he wouldn't be surprised if there was a secondary broadcaster to go along with TSN. Said TSN will be involved for sure, but that he wouldn't be surprised if there's another. Not sure if that means traditional or a streamer, but it's interesting anyhow...

If anyone is still on the nazi app, the user CFL News posted a YouTube link along with the quote...

Sportsnet? Not sure who else? Unless CBC is going to dip their toe after a long hiatus?

If CBC is back, begin the thawing of Steve Armitage!!

Wonder if CBC would ever use Gem to stream stuff. The only other streamer I could think of would be Disney Plus... As Disney owns ESPN, which I believe still owns TSN....

But what do you mean by "turn a profit"?

Are you only referring to what the team makes through ticket sales, food, merch?

Or are you including TV deal, gambling and league advertising revenue? No, the new moves will not improve attendance. But they will inject new moey into the league which is distributed to teams regardless of high or low attendance.

Turning a profit = making money. Winnipeg turns a profit, Toronto bleeds red. The primary reason for the difference is live game attendance.

Amazon Prime has been streaming more and more sports. It could make sense that they just extend Thursday Night Football through the CFL season and then into the NFL one.
