Westerman brought heat and was a great leader

Perfectly serviceable last year? I’m sorry, that’s way over the top if you’re referring to JT’s play last year. He wasn’t asked to do much other than you know his job. You know it’s okay to admit it had nothing to do with asking him to do too much and he was not perfectly serviceable last year (please see stats) without being accused of being mean to him.

I have a hard time seeing that as earned tho either..and is a kick to the corn flakes to actual coaches working and putting in the time at varying levels

And I not a grumpy senior lol...but coach..train and see what coaches do...could care less how a middling dt acted during his career...irrelevant...

Its Kramdi who def isnt best option for SAM...is not needed for ratio and is gonna be our second highest paid defender likely

Why would you not want your HC to pick a guy he believes will do well and that he can work with? HC's always pick their favorites amongst guys they are familiar with, to become their coordinators and position coaches. That's not entitlement.

As a player...he would have been gone off any other roster prob 3..4 yrs ago...at best end roster guy standing around all game in case the other DT's went out...would never had reps at end like here over actual ends either...his lifeline was Osh

Again...not a reason for a 4 yr free ride...the ire he got was justified as he basically sucked for yrs..and i guess osh is to blame partly for that as he enabled it

We've seen a lot of Osh's picks too...player and coach...and some were pathetic and unjustified too...proof is in the puddin that Osh makes a lot of bad picks

But like I said earlier...won't make or break us...just a dumb mercy hire really

The DL used to be our strength when we won two Grey Cups. Since 2021, it's become a throw away position with guys who never would have made those teams in 19 & 21 becoming starters. No desire by Walters, Osh or Younger to rebuild it. Speaking of Younger, I'm actually amazed that he never started an entire defense of defensive backs.

You gotta have the horses. KW and staff have brought in nothing but ham and eggers since then. I hear lots about the ones that got away, like Garbutt and Fox. If that is the best two DL we have brought in since 21 that's a pretty sad few years of GMing on our DL. I'm not suggesting MOS made it in any better but look at what they had to work with. Nothing. Even if MOS makes the changes we all wanted to see, we have a pitiful DL today. It's time we put some money towards it. We haven't recruited an impact d-lineman since Sayles.

We need to be active in FA on our DL, because we can't recruit worth crap there. I hear a lot, rightfully so, about how much Jake Thomas was playing but all I hear is crickets about what a lousy job our GM and recruiters have done with our DL. Vaughters, that was our one big signing in the last how many years and calling it a big signing is highly debatable. Get some damn stud DL Kyle. Enough is enough.  Honestly if we go after Ceresna and don't get him, at least we tried to improve but if KW doesn't even throw his hat into the ring and cheaps out for some guy that has never been better than rotational then he just needs to be fired. Our problem at DL couldn't be more obvious, lack of talent.

We have never had a beast like Ceresna to turn loose and if you don't think Ceresna has taken his share of double teams i'm not sure what to tell you. He is probably one of the most double teamed guys in the league.

For the love of gawd I'm hoping we change that signature this year. Watching three DL be stood up at the line with no disruptions at all while the QB runs through his reads with ease putting lots of pressure on the DB's as the receivers find the soft part of our zone coverage is quite frustrating to watch.

Very interesting after we re-signed Bryant.  Broxton is the best LT in the league, I can’t imagine he’ll be the guy to change positions.

With the new window, this happened last year as well. Announcements by the respective teams came on the first day of free agency on February 10th.

Okay, I'll say it. I'll eat crow. By far, Walters has won the off season. He's hit a home run after home run this entire off season.. He's no longer a bridesmaid but the bride. The Old Walters is back.... errr... the Young Walters. I'm lovin' it. Now, all I ask is my kingdom for a big interior DL to pay the zero & 1 technique. A run stopper. A disruptor. Someone to create chaos inside like Stove did.
