Seemed every other play a player or a coach was complaining to the refs. It got absurd at one point were 2 players and a coach were all bellyaching at a sideline ref. Look at who their HC is and that says it all. Booch, Bigblue204, rebusrankin and 1 other 2 2
3rdand1.5 Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Mass has developed into a good coach...and he has tuned his temper down many levels....but he is till a very whiney coach...he is always in a refs ear it seems....So as Noeller points out the team emulates that.....but at least...... So I’m on the side line Saturday with the other season ticket holders bringing out the Canadian flag for O Canada. I’m minding my business, The head coach is like 200 yards away, but this man has EARS so big they probably pick up satellite radio. My girlfriend squints and goes, “Why does he look so angry? He looks like an off-brand Gargamel.” I panic. I’m like, “SHUT UP, HE CAN HEAR US.” She laughs, until he TURNS. Not walks, not jogs. TURNS.. Next thing I know, this man is SPRINTING toward me like I just bad-mouthed his favorite protein powder. Before I can react, this dude snatches my toque straight off my head like it was a turnover he could challenge. I’m stunned. My scalp is cold. My girlfriend is praying. The coach is standing there wearing my toque with a stupid grin on his face. Then security pulls up like “Sir, is there a problem?” And this coach, this MASTER MANIPULATOR, instantly transforms like he just activated cutscene mode and goes: “Problem? No, no, this is my best friend, my BROTHER, my day-one from preschool. Look, I’m just borrowing his toque because it’s cold. Right, champ?” I’m still processing the ear-to-sprint timeline, so all I manage to say is: “Yes” Security nods and leaves. Coach pats my shoulder like I just got drafted to his emotional support roster and walks away in my toque, humming like a Disney villain who just got the magic amulet.

It would be interesting to hear from the group of CFL referees how they would rank each Head Coach in terms of biggest whiner to least whiner? My sample is real small in terms of actual observation but I would definitely place DD near the top. rebusrankin and Bigblue204 2

NO AIR HORNS....all game......... nailed it. We’ve been lucky that our most successful coaches we have had, have been likeable especially by pro coaching standards. The list of detestable people as coaches here is pretty short, and mostly short lived. While i have great contempt for mos’ failings as a head coach, and believe he’s about run his time out short of drastic changes, he is a tremendous person and leader. Eventually, my lasting memory of him will be the 21gc parade in the stadium, when he and his wife went around picking up trash from the field. Pure class. Grim reality is that the coaching world is filled with highly decorated people who range from @$$holes to pure garbage. Maas isn’t a bad guy, but he isn’t great. He has become a great coach up here, especially in montreal. He and Maciocia jive in a way that makes a whole lot of sense once you think about it. Boy am I glad they got the two turds on mute for this one. I am hoping this ends up being a throw back to those old intense rivalry games when we were in the east, but with a better out come than we usually saw.
